I have a 1-year-old Holland Lop rabbit named Twix. He drinks out of a water bowl in an open-top cage underneath my loft bed. Twix saw this as a good playing idea. Now he'll rip off the top from his water bowl and he loves to splash in the water. Sometimes, I will put a damp towel in my bathtub and let him splash in that. He loves it! However, I have read that rabbits shouldn't get wet as it can kill them with hypothermia and shock. I've been wondering what I should do about this and how to prevent this if this is bad. Twix has transitioned through 3 cages and has enjoyed playing in the water his whole life. Before he was water bottle trained, ( He doesn't have one anymore) he would flip his water bowl just to play in the moisture. He also drinks a lot. He is litter box trained and when I come home from school, the entire cat litterbox is filled with wet litter and few turds. This is also making my room stink. If you know why he has such a love for water, please let me know because I have been wondering since the day I got him. Thanks!
