CDN here, the prices are way more. I'm into my 440 for just under $6000 here, that's about $3500 USD. Careful and frugal shopping is what it takes as most know. 10.88:1 with ported 915 heads, MP 590 cam and a 950hp carb... Pump gas friendly on the right tune and rowdy when need be. New sub
10.88:1 with 915 heads and a 590 cam sounds like a pretty rowdy combo. Must have good quality fuel up there. I’m excited about putting this 400 together. Going with a strange stroker combo
The 318 I put together in my dart made good horsepower on a super small budget. I’ve got the whole build on my channel. I’m definitely a believer in the 318
I wouldn't mind knowing more about this. I've got many mopar parts that's been sitting on the shelf for years that I bought cheap by today standards and I could field a pretty killer small block Econo W2 very easily.
@@sorta_stock My Econos date back to 1976. Using pricing from back when they were new would be what I'm suggesting. Them on a low compression 360 truck motor with an appropriate cam would yield over 500hp. Hone, rings, bearings, cam, gaskets, timing chain, and that head package could be done for around four grand if you use today prices not to mention the price of the head package of when these where new. HP per cubic inch would be great. Just a thought...
So far, there’s about 7 channels that are in it. Ruben with @MuscleCityMadness came up with the idea and @JonnyMopar brought us together to kick it off.
@@sorta_stock Interesting. What do you reckon a basic rebuild would cost at a machine shop? I have LA 360 that I want to do a basic rebuild. Would like to do it myself but I've never done it and I'm not confident.
@@normp3273 a basic rebuild of a 360 would cost around $2,500 to have a machine shop do it if no major components were damaged. Thats around $500 in parts. I don’t know what your tool setup looks like but, a basic rebuild is a good project to get your feet wet.
Sounds great.
I do like the 400 platform.
Lots of great potential.
Thanks for sharing the plan.
Take care, Ed.
Thanks Ed. Gona go a different route with this one than most. Wanting to test some theories surrounding rod ratios and drag.
Great explanation!

Looks like a pretty sweet base so far! Should be fun.
This is gonna be awesome!
I love phases.....I'm a big phase guy lol. Good Luck 🤘
I just want advice on building my 318 in a 72 Satellite. I want to keep it numbers matching. Not a RR Clone. But the 318 needs a budget boost

Cool projects on the way

W2 heads go for a pretty penny today. I’m assembling the short block this weekend so, I should have the video out soon

Oh yeah!
This is getting interesting. Let the mayhem begin
👍💪
Where and when did this completion pop up? Who's the ring leader?

What's the outer limit for stroke on a big block?
A mopar 400 is usually not taken beyond 512. 440s can go a little beyond that due to the taller deck height.
@sortastockmopars is a 400 the same deck height as a 383?
@@charlesmarino2027 it sure is 👍🏻. 9.98”
When you say 7 or 9 grand, was that assembling the motor yourself or a machine shop doing it for you?
Assembling them myself but, having a shop machine the block and balance the rotating assembly.
