If they listen to Blake and play players in position - I think we will go on a late run of wins like in Hardwick's first year. I mean young players fade out towards the end of the season but half the ones we have a injured or might not start to halfway through the year
Don't forget we will need to extend contracts and pay our recent draftees what they are worth before Tassie come into the league, that includes our 1st 2 x draftees in 2025 too
The thing with salary cap freeing up, is that you guys got 8 new talents. Most of which are really high end talents. In a few years, those contracts will have to be renewed. So if you get the best out of your young guys, they could very well eat up a fair portion of your salary cap. Also a lot of teams are moving players along and looking for high end free agents. I go for Essendon, we have a huge amount in our salary cap, as we don't really have any star players outside of Merett and maybe 1 or 2 others. I wholeheartedly believe that will change over the coming years with some of our younger guys stepping up, but for now we aren't paying anyone a huge amount. McKay was our biggest contract and his is front loaded. I think he'll be around that 700k mark next year but I'm not certain. Anyway, the point is that we have a lot of money to throw around. But, so do a lot of other teams. Collingwood is about to lose the majority of their star players to retirement, they'll have a huge amount of money to throw around. West Coast and Gold Coast will still have a chunk of change. Brisbane with Joey Daniher leaving will have a bit of room. You guys should not go for Draper. He is seriously not worth whatever you would have to pay to take him for Adelaide or Essendon. I am to the point with him where I don't care whether he stays or goes if he continues playing the way he has. If he plays as our primary ruck and one of our forwards this year, then he leaves to Adelaide on mega money, we get band 1 compo. I don't think De Koning leaves Carlton.
Collingwood aren't really going to lose a lot of star players. They'll lose older players who aren't really on big contracts anymore, and have recently given the Daicos brothers massive deals + houston. But yeah they'll have some money still. And as for the contracts beind renewed, that point is irrelvant - you would front end any free agent signings in 2026 and 2027, while the rookies are on their rookie contracts.
@ maybe not all of them are stars but their core group. And whilst a lot of them wouldn’t be on mega contracts, the money adds up. Collingwood have gone all in on this group, only using 2 picks in the draft. When next year gold coast has a lot of academy talent in the top 20, and the year after Tassie comes in. I imagine they’ll be looking to add to their list with free agency or trade next year. And the contract point stands. If these players turn out to be good players and Richmond want to keep them. They have to front the money for it. Mac Andrews is on an average of 1 million a year now. If these Richmond young guns turn out alright that could be 1/3rd of the cap gone, which is fine and doesn’t mean much in the end, but it is something to note when talking about free agency. Essendon have fuck all good players on our list. Same goes for a lot of other clubs. Richmond have had a really good run at the draft, but no one talks about their available salary because everyone is in a similar boat.
Footballers don’t normally sign million dollar contracts in there 2 nd or 3rd year, Tigers will most likely sign all 8 again if they work out, & you would think they might want to stay together& try win a flag, Richmond will have the most salary cap 4 the nexxt 3 years unless we go & get a team of free agents or another club has the likes of Cotch,, Grimes, Dusty,Bolton, Rioli, Baker,Rievolt, Lynch’s contract ends & the other 10 or more players that have retired or left the in the last 3 yrs, 4 another team to have as much cap space they would need at least half the team to walk out & not players playing VFL, the top 10 players to start with & another 5 role players, the only team that it could happen to is Collingwood due to age but they won’t get a quarter of the currency Richmond got
The players tigers have left arnt on big money Broads contract was in the paper, KMack signed 1 year deal Vlastone 1 year deal Prestia, Short, a couple I think, Balta is our only long term signing & Taranto & Hopper would b the highest paid left apart from Lynch’s 25,, to think any other team has the $ Richmond has would mean there is under the table fixing or players are playing 4 free, & at the same time I would b the happiest person if the draftees were all worth what Mac Andrew is being paid, it’s win win 4 Richmond
@ I’m not saying anyone definitely has more money. I’m just saying that everyone has money to throw around. So unless Richmond looks to overpay for free agents their chances aren’t any better than Collingwood or Essendon and probably a few other interstate clubs.
@ still cant see TDK at 27 next year finally enjoying finals go back to the bottom for another 3 years minimum while tigers rebuild, only a list destroying salary cap management offer would make it work which with so much top end young talent coming through could be messy in years to come
It’s to early to say Tigers need a ruck in 2025 draft, we could have one there now, simms has been doing tap work & Richmond have a couple of rucks who will have to show something next season, if not then we will have to chase one, but hope Lynch can do a Hawkins he had a lot of time out at some stage with back issues
The Tigers are going to be in for a long rebuild and I don't think any of the players you mentioned are going to leave their clubs near the top of the ladder to go play at the Tigers.
If Tigers can get Cadman, we have Lalor, we just need Nth 2 finish 18th in 2025 or as back up Tigers finish 18th, that will give Richmond 3 number one picks running around in 4 years, hopefully with only one spoon,

Hey CHB, Really enjoy watching your videos as a Richmond fan. I’ve noticed in other videos that some of the jokes you’re making don’t quite match the professional tone of your content. I get you’re trying to keep things light, but a reference like the Chris Brown and Rihanna one isn’t a good one to be making. Your videos are engaging enough on their own without those kinds of jokes. Hoping to see some more videos soon!
Of what are you on? I'd love to see you do better than Yze, Yze isn't the problem he's legit been coach for 1 year, a year in which he was coaching another Coach's team that also at one point had 18 injuries, so again he isn't the problem and as much as I love Richmond and I want them to succeed that's just not how football goes, teams have ups and downs and in a few years we will be back better than ever. Wooden spoons are as hard to pick as minor premiers, I don’t know one person who had Richmond to finish 18th, in 2024 b 4 the season started, I also don’t think to many people had Hawthorn playing finals in 2025 regardless of the first 5 games, so we don’t know how the Tigers are going to fare yet, but I can tell u every player that wears a Richmond jumper will have the believe it can happen until it becomes mathematically impossible, that’s the Richmond way
free agency means you over pay. Never ever overpay for a ruckman, rule number 1. Either draft them or get a second string/VFL. Richmond should go extremely hard for Callaghan, he’s our guy
Don't underestimate Sims. They are all naked names ATM so all starting from scratch.
