Love the video and it's a very nice bed. I would like to say that I'm surprised that you wasted so much material when you cut it out (1:32) - cutting in the middle of your large piece of fabric leaves you with two small pieces - when you could have measured from the edge of the fabric and had a large left over piece that would have maybe made another bed. I'm not trying to be a negative Nellie - I was taught by a person who lived through hard times and she'd always show me how to use the bare minimum of fabric to make something - just something to think about. I really do love this fabric and the bed - would be easy to un-knot and wash and change out the fill if necessary. Thanks and keep up the good work.
this is great. has anyone washed theirs yet. I'm curious if the filling stays in place or if it gets some what wonky. thanks for sharing. I love this idea. so easy.
Love this! I want to start making cat beds. This is great because I never liked sewing and don't want that hazard of thread and needles around my nosy sweet cats. Thanks!
Thanks for the clear concise video. The dimensions you've laid out are pretty much what I need for my project too, as I'm making a cushion to fit inside a hard plastic dog bed and also matching cushion-style cat beds. I have fleece and plan to cut old duvets into four layers and stitch/velcro them together in a few spots so they don't shift and clump. I don't think these beds will be too easy to wash and air dry (due to fleece) as one piece but at least if it's in layers it could be dismantled.
Cheers good lady. Now think I'll tear the stuffing out of the duvets instead and do it your way. The first oval is marked on the fleece but as usual procrastination over my design (e.g. will it be big enough?) is hindering me. No-sew is defo the way to go though, after the tantrum I had with my sewing machine yesterday trying to simply stitch one straight line to repair the arse of a pair of trousers!
If you prewash your fabric and then only wash on a cold delicate cycle I think it should be okay.. It will probably cut down on the lifespan of your bed though. The absolute best way to make this washable would be to add another layer (like muslin) around the stuffing and make the fleece a removable cover that can be washed separately, but that would require sewing. Hope that helps!
You want to double knot the strips diagonal from each other. Take the strips next to these and double knot over the first knot. This way you get an X shape going on that will stop the stuffing from falling out. If you are already too deep into it, you could do a second knot around the knot to the left or right and just keep working your way all the way around. Best of luck!!
Hi Jennifer, yes you would have to take the stuffing out to wash it or spot clean it. The fleece can go in the washer as a regular wash. I advise to air dry the fleece to prevent any shrinkage.
Very hard instructions to follow, just FYI. When uou know what you're doing it's harder to think how someone who has no idea what you're doing is receiving it. This isn't meant as a slam, just feedback.

I made one after watching this tutorial and my dog loves it. The best part is that it doesn't need sewing:)
Good to hear! :)
Criss crossing the knots was great help. 🙏♥️
You can also stuff with old (clean) t-shirts, socks, etc. in lieu of batting ("stuffing").

Excellent! Let us know how yours comes out :)
Help! My ties have space between them, where stuffing will come out. Can you show or share how the strips are tied more slowly and close up?
