I mentioned our all-time favorite dessert is "Shuffle Truffle" (Steven's nickname for it). If you want that recipe, check out this video: ruclips.net/video/yi_fxTxV8vU/видео.html
I actually collect church cookbooks. We have lived all over during my husband’s time in the Air Force, so I spent a lot of time at garage sales looking for these cookbooks. My favorite one is from a church in North Dakota. It was a gift from a mother to her son. She made little notes throughout the cookbook noting her favorite recipes, memories of the church where they were married, the church where her son was baptized, and other special moments in their lives. You could tell she spent years noting all of these memories and wanted her son to have those memories to pass down to his children. Not sure why it was being sold at a garage sale….it made me kind of sad it wasn’t kept in the family, but it has a special place in my collection and I treasure it.❤
Mandy, I have a suggestion for you that will really save you literally a lot of tears!!! This is something I learned in my home economics. class too many years ago to count. When you want to cut up a fresh whole onion, put it under cold running water. Cut the root end first and then the other. Next prepare the onion as you usually would. For any leftover onion, put in the fridge in a baggie and when your ready to use, just cut up as usual. I guarantee you won't ever shed another tear. This trick has served me well!!! I really enjoy watching your videos, especially when you get your family involved!!!! This is Lisa Carroll saying hi from Midwest City, Oklahoma 😊
Thank you, everyone for your prayers in the last video. I have a severe sinus infection that's what was affecting my vision. I'm on all kinds of antibiotics to get better. Thank you again for the prayers.
Love these recipes❤. No surprise🎉😊. I wish church cookbooks would go digital. I RV full time and have sooooo many in my collection from family that I can’t keep with me. They are just treasures!
Mandy I just love how real you are in this video, seeing all of the “whoops” and trouble shooting (cream cheese layer in taco dip) parts that you keep in. Seeing that lovely personality of yours shining through. ♥️
Ohhhh Mandy, you hit my nemesis. I can not pass by a Church Cook book. I move about a year ago an my 46 year old son threaten to put me in rehab when he saw how many BOXES of cookbooks I have. I'm sure he thought I wouldn't miss a box if one fell off the truck during the move but "he'd be wrong!" I hope Mary Jane reads the comments and would let us know how we could acquire one of the beloved Cook Books from the GEMS!! ? I will be trying these for sure!! Thank You!
Mandy I said plenty of times how I love your channel when you and Stephen do the bloopers I so enjoy it with all my heart so on that note "tink" luv ya
I have several Church Cookbooks and I also have a Church Cookbook from my husband’s Grandmother’s Church and one that my husband’s Grandmother made using her recipes she made while raising her children. She had 3 boys & 3 girls! She also had a kitchen where she fed the men that was working between Artesia & Roswell, New Mexico. Years later she opened a ‘Pie Shop’ and she & her husband and their kids and grandchildren (later on) drove to parts of West Texas to deliver her hand-held homemade pies. That went over HUGE!! So she decided to expand and she added cold sandwiches, then later she added microwave ovens into each store and she made Burritos! Her business served over at least 8 area towns. If you’re old enough to remember ‘Tumbleweed Smith’ on the Radio, you should see if you can find where Tumbleweed interviewed Agnes Collins with “Grandma Collins Fried Pies!” All of your recipes are delicious & my husband (Eddie) and I love them all…except he doesn’t like coffee. But I love this Cozy Coffee Recipe!! Thanks Mandy! You and Stephen are so cute together!! Love you guys bunches!! NORMA COLLINS FROM TEXAS
Mandy and Steven, I woke to the sad and tragic news of losing Toby Keith today. I have been moping around all day but always look forward to your videos. I was making marinara sauce in the kitchen when my tablet chirped to let me know that y'all had posted again. First I must say that I have made that green bean casserole and it is amazing! So worth the extra steps! But mostly I want to thank both of you for being so real and bringing laughter to my soul today! I think after a year of watching and being as old as I am I am going to finally break down and send you a couple of different favorite recipes of mine. Cooking is my passion. Much love and many blessings to you all.
It broke my heart when I woke up this morning, too. I loved him so very much. Many of my favorite country songs are his. :( I'm glad we could bring you some laughter today. Take care!
Church cookbooks and me go way back. I worked at FBC in my 20s and I compiled, typed, and printed a cookbook for them. Later I did the same for my church as a fundraiser. Some of the best recipes EVER! And of course, recipes from my mother are in that book. My copy is worn and torn and sacred in my home.
How awesome that Mary Jane sent one out to you. This is my church’s cookbook and I’m the contributor of the “Cozy Coffee” recipe. I’m so glad you liked it!! I have made it several times on my channel and it is a family fave here too. There are some amazing cooks in our church so that cookbook is a treasure. Blessings!! ❤️
Ah! I'm so glad you commented! First of all, thanks for the cozy coffee recipe and secondly, is there a way for my subscribers to purchase the cookbook online? Thanks Jen! By the way, your channel looks awesome and I just subbed!
Mandy, I’ll have to see if I can send you a Pennsylvania Grange cookbook. The grange used to be like a club or community of farm wives. You had to be a farmers wife to be in the community. And because it was PA, some of them were Amish. Girl, it is my favorite cookbook! You know how good cooks farm Grandmas are! 🤤💗
Mandy, you and Steven always take me on an adventure while watching your videos. I have just discovered you guys and have been binge watching. The few recipes I have tried so far have been a big hit in our house. A great big hug to you, including Gracie. Keep laughing and celebrating life 😂🎉😂
I would love to see more of this kind of cooking! Church cookbooks are the best! I have a church cookbook I inherited from my grandmother from the 1940s. My grandmother went to cooking school in the early 1920s and was the best cook I have known. I was lucky enough to have learned to cook mostly by the side of her. Some of the best recipes are found in the old ones. Yummy yummy.
I learned to cook with a church cookbook. I knew NOTHING about cooking when I got married in 1977, so between that church cookbook and my mom on the other end of a phone line, I turned into a darn good cook.
Since my husband is a retired pastor, we were related to a number of different churches during our “working days”. I think every single one of the churches we were associated with had a cookbook and they are the ones I always go to when I am looking for something to make. I would say that each of them has at least one recipe that turned out to become favorites in our house. I think they are the best cookbooks because they are tried and true recipes from people you know who are great cooks! All four recipes look like ones to try for sure. Thanks for sharing these Mandy. ❤
For the onion/tears issue, put a wet paper towel folded into 4ths on the cutting board while you cut em! It works! I tried it myself last night. I tried cutting without it first, and ooooweeee... That thing was SCREAMIN at me! Then I put the wet paper towel down, and it worked like a DREAM! NO MORE burning and watery eyes, or anything!❤❤❤❤
tMandy, thank you for taking the time to at leadt hit the 'like' button. It means you care about your viewers and what we have to say. Too often Isee or hear creators say they don'tread comments. They ask for them but don'tcare to read them?! My husbandand Ilove your videos. Thank you for your time, recipes, great loving energy and your humor! Best to you and yours!🥰☘️@MandyintheMaking
Oh I love Old cookbooks, I have several family, church and I have a deaf school cookbook that I absolutely love! As always, you guys make me laugh with every video, I thank God every day for your family!❤
Team mushrooms all the way! I love collecting Church Cookbooks. I have been buying vintage church cookbooks for years. I find them at thrift stores, garage and estate sales and antique stores. They are so fun!
I couldn't love this more!! ❤ Thank you to the "GEMS" Ladies for their amazing recipes! I would love to get my hands on some church cookbooks. I never thought to look into that... Thank you for sharing these with us, Mandy! I love the raw and real content. Always! That green bean casserole looks to die for! ❤😊 Team mushrooms for sure!! "Love you, mean it, Byeeeee!"
I'm missing the "hyperbowl", but watching you and Steven makes me "super" happy. MUSHROOMS are my favorite and I think I could live on them never getting bored. Please, Mandy, every time you cook fresh or canned mushrooms add some fresh grated NUTMEG. I always grate nutmeg on the butter sautéed mushrooms. Several of my recipes were featured in old church and fundraising cookbooks. I have a cookbook collection dating back to the early 1900's. If you want to skin and cook cute little critters, it shows you how to do it. I catch and clean fish period. I helped with a squirrel one time and got poison oak, so never again. It tasted awful anyway. I love you in Christ. Warm hugs from northern California.
I love church cookbooks. I cannot wait to try the green bean casserole. I love watching your videos. The recipes are great and you and Steven crack me up. Keep it up. Have a blessed day
Found your channel a couple of months ago and I have been bingeing your videos. So glad Steven decided to become a part of your channel as your interactions with each other warms my heart. Keep on doing what you do! Love from NC.
I have dozens of church cook books but our church has never made one. Oldest church west of the Allegheny mountains. Thank you. God Bless, stay safe and warm.
Absolutely wonderful recipes! Nothing like church cookbooks for amazing recipes! This green bean chili and green bean casserole are going to be a hit in our home! And I am definitely trying the coffee! Yum! We're not big on dips, but this one will be awesome for the football game! Thank you so much, Mandy! Once again, the dynamic duo had me laughing and smiling 😃 😊❤ blessings
Also, that was a cute reference to Titus😂, can you imagine how much fun it would be to have Steven and Titus and Bunky all together at one table taste testing the same recipe?😂😂
Team mushroom! I have two church cookbooks in my possession. One is from my grandmother's church and one is from my mother in law's church. They have both passed, so having these cookbooks, with a few of their recipes included, is even more special now.
I have over 200 church cookbooks from all across the USA. Some are over 60 years old. I love to read the history hidden in the books and trying recipes often. When someone marries in the family I give a couple of my books marked with recipes we have enjoyed. I liked all 4 recipes today.
I press the thumbs up Before I watch the video, I know I will like it. Thank you, all three, for brigntening my day and spicing up our dinners. You guys are the bestest.
Mandy, when my sons were in grade school, they made cookbooks for a fundraiser. All of the students got favorite family recipes & they were compiled in to a cookbook. Years later when my youngest was in middle school & the oldest in high school, my youngest sister & I were talking about recipes & she told me she had made the macaroni & cheese recipe that was in the school cookbook & it was really good & had become a family favorite. I had to make & see if it was as good as she said. Well my family & I love it & it has become our go-to if we take a meal to a family where someone is sick, had a surgery, a new baby etc. All of the people we’ve given it to ask for the recipe. You just never know where going to find a dish that you love & want to share. I do have a Church Cookbook too, purchased from a friend & it’s full of great recipes.
Yes..I have a Church Cookbook..and have tried many of the recipes. They were all delicious..!! Y'all are soo funny..!!! Have a blessed day.. Lotsa luv from Texas..!!! 🥰💙🥰💙🥰💙🥰
I love going thrift stores in the cities I visit and looking for church cookbooks!! They have the family recipes that have been passed down and I love that!
Hi Mandy. Yes, I have some church cookbooks that I have found some delicious recipes in. I like to collect them every now and then because you find some interesting recipes in various churches. Enjoyed your video as usual.😀
Loved your church cookbook recipes. I have a few church cookbooks. In fact I received one as wedding present 48 years ago, an have made quite a few of the recipes. I do think I'm going to try the green bean casserole. I love fresh mushrooms. Thanks for your's an Taters tinks, they always make me laugh and smile. 🦋💕🦋
Definitely TEAM MUSHROOM! I love church cookbooks! I try to stop and get them whenever we go out of town. I wanted to let you know that last night I made the Creamy Parmesan Pesto Chicken Skillet, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. It will be added to out regular rotation.
I have a copy of the local Russian Orthodox cookbook, which is where my family goes to church. I have only made bread and dessert from it, but they were fantastic. I would love to try all of these recipes you shared today. Especially the green bean casserole.
Watched this video the first time today. I have 6 old church cookbooks that belonged to my Granny. They are covered in her writing and notes, my favorite of which is her unique spelling of potatoes - “topotoes”. 😆 Some of the best food I’ve ever had has come from those cookbooks! Love them alll and still love a good church ladies’ cookbook!! Also, I miss Gracie and so does my cat, Si, who used to be fascinated by her meowing on screen. ❤️ from KY!!
Hey Mandy & Steven, Cole & Miss Gracie, I love church cookbooks & regional books too. I'll have to find my cookbook from the UP of Michigan called "Hollyhocks & Radishes" which won a Newberry Prize & has the most amazing rural Michigan recipes. There's not one recipe that isnt awesome. I never have done it, but they even have a recipe for Sweet Dandelion Wine, I just have way too many dogs in my neighborhood adding extra ingredients to even try it! 🤭🤣 One of my favorites is Sweet Tomato Pie though. I'll find a copy, but it might take time bc most people hang onto their copies, & pass them down to younger generations. Can't wait to try the Green Bean Casseroles - YUM! 🙋♀️🌻🦋🏠💕💕💕💕🐾🐾
Yummy recipes!! Going to make the Chilli dip for Superbowl Sunday. Also going to make the Hawaiian roll sliders. You two are so cute together, made me laugh!! 💜
Thank you so much for your recipes. Also I like the common tutor and all his antics. 😂 Gracie is so cute and so are you. Thanks again. Love your family.
I agree that the best cookbooks are from our Mom's and Grandma's, and from Church and also the Amish, Thank you so much Mandy and Steven for giving us joy and laughter ! The two of you together makes our hearts happy 💕 God bless you. 😊
I have a "kindergarten cookbook" - must be 70 years old. Our little Indiana town didn't have a kindergarten with the school, so had to raise $$ for it. Just about everyone in town contributed to it, which in those day could very well have been a church cookbook. My fav. recipe in that is for butterscotch pudding - oh . . . my . . . word . . . it is SO good!
I basically only use Church and Amish cookbooks! They are the best ones! I agree with what someone else commented..do another church cookbook video. Maybe a little series?
The dip . When I go to visit my grandkids my middle grandson will sit and eat the whole dip and we call it chilly cheese pie . Any kind of gathering I’m always asked to bring the chili cheese pie. Definitely delicious
LOVE church cookbooks! My prayer group got one together several years ago and now I'm thinking it is time for another one! I can always find one or two of your recipes that I want to try because we must have similar tastes in our families. However, this one is four for four! All look fabulous and can't wait to try them. I'm already making my grocery list!
Hey Mandy, I've been watching you for a few years now and it's been so much fun to try your recipes and watch your videos. We are all Gracie Lou fans in our house! I was watching a video the other day and she was meowing at you. My husband from the other room says, "Somebody better come get that cat some cheese!" 😂 My daughter then goes, "Ma'am!" Totally made my day!
Yes!!! I love church cookbooks. Would you please consider adding more of these in future videos? The ones from our older generations are the best. I love when I laugh out loud with y’all, which is nearly every video. God bless!
Ah, the church cookbooks… Yes!! Those are some of the best cookbooks I own. I have one that I got about 15 years ago and it honestly has so many good recipes and I think several of the contributors are either professional or semi professional cooks. I love it because there’s so many outstanding recipes and it’s always my go to cookbook. Have fun and enjoy that one! I love your cooking videos and your family is great!
I absolutely love church cook books and community ones. I had hundreds of them from all over the country and other countries. They have the most wonderful tried and true recipes. But recently I had to down size and donated boxes of them. Broke my heart but hopefully someone else will enjoy them as I have. Everyone uses the web to search recipes anymore but I like to "read" them from cover to cover. Especially the ones that share personal little stories. I love watching you and your family. Blessings
Oh My Gosh,😂😂😂😂 I absolutely love you guy's! So glad I seen your channel and subscribed, it's like being right there with y'all! Thank you so much for doing this RUclips channel and sharing your family's life with us😘🫂😘🫂😘🫂😘🫂❤️❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE Church Cookbooks because you know those recipes are Tried and Tested and most have been handed down and are family favorites. I have Several and Thanks for Sharing! I'm not a Fan of Green Bean Casserole and I 'm not sure why, but I might be for the one you shared from this Cookbook. 😊♥️
I have the Church Cookbook that my childhood church did for their 100th anniversary in 1988. My Grandmother’s Tamale Casserole is in it. You have to read the whole recipe or you’ll miss some of the ingredients. That’s how they wrote them back then. Mostly because they wrote them down as they were making them. This recipe brings back wonderful memories.
I collected so many of those Church and school cook books. I lost ALL of my cookbooks and recipe cards in them when I lost my house and all I owned to flooding. We evacuated and saved our lives and pets, in that sense we were blessed. So thank you for the recipes you are sharing.
You had me at rich and creamy!!!!!!! :) That green bean casserole looks so good!!! I will be adding that to my menu plan, very soon!!! Church cookbooks are the best!!!! Tried and true!!!! G.E.M.S. I love that so much!!!!
I have a plethora of church cookbooks I love each and everyone of them old old old recipes my favorites are the old fashioned jello ones who knew you could prepare jello sooooooo many ways
I mentioned our all-time favorite dessert is "Shuffle Truffle" (Steven's nickname for it). If you want that recipe, check out this video: ruclips.net/video/yi_fxTxV8vU/видео.html
We need a Titus and Stephen collaboration.
I have several church cookbooks. Everyone puts their very best recipes in church cookbooks.

I adore mushrooms, but it’s funny my big brother calls them “rubber washers” 😂 he’s weird ✌️❤️😂

The cookbook may not have stayed in their family but seems like it found a great place in yours. Enjoy!
I collect them also! Most are from churches that my family and myself have attended through the years.
Oh Mandy... Mandy Mandy!! More church recipes please! This was such good content and so much fun. Of course every video with you is fun.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! We had a blast making this one!
Mandy, I'm so glad you liked the cookbook. It was definitely a labor of love. ❤
Would you be willing to send us some? I LOVE church cookbooks!
Can you (or Mandy) link the cookbook web page or info for subscribers who might want to get a copy please? I am interested in one. Thanks!😊
I will check and see if there are any left. I'll send a link if there is. Thank you for your interest.
Mary Jane, I collect Church cookbooks. I’d love to purchase one of your cookbooks if possible. Just contact me if you don’t mind.
Please add me to the list to purchase one. I lost all of my cookbooks and recipes when I lost my home and contents due to flooding.
Please make more recipes from the church cookbook!! Those homemade recipes are always the best!!
I am always looking for church cookbooks at garage sales. Grannies know what's up!!!
This is what I collect! I’ve spent my whole adult life collecting and reading church cookbooks like a best seller!

I'm so happy to have you here!
You two should take your show on the road! You guys are such a hoot 🦉love all your videos. Keep it up!
I cannot get through one of your videos without tears of laughter 😂 streaming down my face. You are correct, Steven, breathing is important 😤.
That green bean casserole with homemade mushroom sauce and cheese looks incredible!!!
I have to try this one!!
Also, that was a cute reference to Titus😂, can you imagine how much fun it would be to have Steven and Titus and Bunky all together at one table taste testing the same recipe?😂😂
When something is too hot to eat we say “careful, that will burn your face off!” 😂 🔥
Team mushroom! I have two church cookbooks in my possession. One is from my grandmother's church and one is from my mother in law's church. They have both passed, so having these cookbooks, with a few of their recipes included, is even more special now.
They are food for your soul ❤🙏
I agree with you completely ❤
I have over 200 church cookbooks from all across the USA. Some are over 60 years old. I love to read the history hidden in the books and trying recipes often. When someone marries in the family I give a couple of my books marked with recipes we have enjoyed. I liked all 4 recipes today.
I still have my church cookbook from about a hundred years ago. Looks like it’s a hundred years old too. Very loved. Everything in it is yummy. ❤️
Quite a few years ago, I made a church cookbook. It was a huge undertaking… collecting and organizing all the recipes. I can’t wait to try these 3 .
I press the thumbs up Before I watch the video, I know I will like it. Thank you, all three, for brigntening my day and spicing up our dinners. You guys are the bestest.
Thank you for posting the ingredients. They all look so delicious ! And of course I tuned in for Gracie Lou ! So precious.
🥰💙🥰💙🥰💙🥰
Oh sweet Mandy, you need to look up "The Farming Pastor Wife Cozy Coffee". She makes this also. It's a major thing in her home. So good!
I have some from the 70’s and 80’s they where my mom’s!! I bring them out when looking for something different!😋👍
Love listening to you, makes me feel good with your light hearted voice.
Church cookbooks house everyone's best family recipes. They are THE BEST!!!
Oh that coffee drink is a perfect afternoon moment!!! ☕️
I absolutely enjoy your videos, the funny music you play during ‘whoopsies’ and your love for each other. You all are amazing!
Some of the best food I’ve ever had has come from those cookbooks!
One of your best videos! You two are hilarious!!! Made my day! 😂
Yes I do have a church cookbook 🙂😀👍 hello Gracie Lou 😺☺️😺😺😻😽🧀🧀🧀 thanks for sharing Mandy and God bless you and your family 🙏💕🙏🙏🙏
I inherited 14 church cookbooks from mom. Thanks mom for all the cozy recipes!
Team Mushrooms. Yes to church cookbook. All the recipes looked great!!!!!!Blessings ❤
I have made this before and I always add whip cream I a can. Just shirt some on top and it is really good. Love this cozy coffee.
Yes!!! I love church cookbooks. Would you please consider adding more of these in future videos? The ones from our older generations are the best. I love when I laugh out loud with y’all, which is nearly every video. God bless!
Don't you just love those liners? One of my favorite inventions ever. I hated crock pot clean up before these.
Blessings
Oh My Gosh,😂😂😂😂
I absolutely love you guy's!
So glad I seen your channel and subscribed, it's like being right there with y'all!

I have bought every Church cookbooks I rub across since 1972. Love them ❤
I LOVE Church Cookbooks because you know those recipes are Tried and Tested and most have been handed down and are family favorites. I have Several and Thanks for Sharing! I'm not a Fan of Green Bean Casserole and I 'm not sure why, but I might be for the one you shared from this Cookbook. 😊♥️
I just love watching yall
Yes, love church cookbooks!!❤❤❤
