  • Welcome to the channel, Introducing the newest project to the channel, I was scrolling Facebook Monday morning and see a listing on a kenworth page for a “1952 Vintage Kenworth” I assumed it was in the US or Canada and someone had just shared it to this Aussie kenworth group but the trees and paddock looked too Australian,
    So after searching various states on market place I found out it was sitting 2 hours north of Sydney.
    I messaged the bloke who had listed it and gave him my number, after nervously waiting a few hours for a phone call hoping that someone else hadn’t beat me to it he rings me and gives me the story on the truck and how he’s selling for an old mate of his.
    I made him an offer which they agreed on and had it picked up on a drop deck and brought down to Vic.
    I’m not sure how many of these trucks are in Australia but I know it can’t be many! Since recording this I’ve spoke to one of the owners from the 70s-80s who gave me some good information which I will share in the next video.
    Thanks for watching

      Yes I’m looking for a 2 stroke to put in it, either another inline 6-71 but they are hard to find with jakes I’ll have to measure up and see if an 8v would fit under there

      Yep a big project for sure but the great thing about it almost everything is there and I’ve found out a lot of history on the truck and have some great old school pics of it from back in the day when it was brought out here!
      I think that’s my favourite part of the truck being twin stick so I’m super keen to make a start on this one!
      I have been on there abit and done a lot of reading, lots of old school blokes so I’ll have to get back on there and have a look

    I've never seen guards like that on a KW only the log trucks but their different. That grill's the same as what they put on the S2 923. Surprised to see highway diffs some had SRDDs I think.

    • @dieseldownunder.
      @dieseldownunder.  8 месяцев назад

      The steel guards are custom made by the previous owner I still have the original fibreglass ones though, I think the grill is the same width but a different shape at the top and not as tall, also the rear diffs have been changed from the originals sadly

      @@dieseldownunder. Thanks you've got some classic trucks there those S2s are rare as. I'm looking for a project in the future maybe an R600 or something. I'm not into real long bonneted trucks much.

      The tag plate on mine is mounted on the dog house extension right in the middle of the cab just above the floor where it bumps out for engine clearance.
