The famous million year old jade bracelet from a time when our ancestors likely lived 500 year life spans is my favorite piece of historical jewelry, even over the Egyptian desert glass scarab.
As a jewler i have done similar things for people that want a forever memento from a special time in their lives. This is a a magnificent peice and anyone that says its morbid or gross or aything less then a wonderful cration from the pieces of treasure entrusted to the maker isn't capable of passing judgment on the artist the art or he wishes of those who commissioned the work.
My dad mounted 2 of the most beautiful bucks he harvested. He was so proud of them. He hunted one of them for 3 years. He passed in January of 2020, right before the world shut down, and our home burned down. The mounts were in my dads room, and they were just destroyed. We lost all of our family photos growing up. It was devastating. I had moved in with mom because her health wasn't, still isn't good, and just going through that and losing all of his things and our memories was heartbreaking. I try not to think about it because the physical pain it causes in my chest when I do is just to much to bear. I scattered some of my dads ashes in one of the lakes he fished, and in the woods in places, he liked to just sit and watch the deer walk by. I miss him so much.
