I saw a ring on Etsy and fell in love. Had the ring picked even before the man! I didn’t pay much attention to what type of stone it had, I just knew it was beautiful and perfect. Before we ordered it, however, I did look a little into moissanite and the more I found out, that happier I was that my dream ring has it as a center stone. I honestly think it’s a no brainer. I would have been open to any stone really but the price of even lab grown diamonds is outrageous and nonsensical and the rest just aren’t hard enough. I do have some small diamonds as accents on the ring and there’s quite a few on the actual wedding band but that’s only because Charles and Colvard (the company our ring maker deals with) only makes moissanite of a certain size. Moissanite has a sort of cloudy glassy/glossy look, lab looks like a very clear and alot less glassy look and the natural diamond is flawless sparkling and reflecting any light in the room. Nature for the win.
I still vastly prefer lab grown for either diamond or moissanite. I like both for different purposes. Moissanite has a colder, grey color until the fire hits, then they sparkle very dramatically. Diamonds are a bit whiter. I disdain when people claim that they can tell the difference between lab grown and natural diamonds with the naked eye. Like, no, you really can't. Only difference is it costs less and you don't have to be worried that it was sourced from a mine that doesn't have ethical employment standards. Same is true for synthetic ruby, sapphire, topaz, amethyst, citrine, peridot, and any other gemstone that can be sourced with equivalent aesthetic standards to their natural counterparts. Emeralds are the only one where it is legitimately challenging for synthetics to be produced with aesthetic standards that match or exceed naturals. And synthetic is really the only way you'll be getting certain gemstones like tanzanite.
@@Yahsbsuq all gemstones have an inherent value due to their properties. Having said that, despite both being made in a lab they’re completely different stones with different properties which is what you’re paying for - not the method of creation. You can make ice cubes in a lab too but that doesn’t make them any more valuable. Lab made moissanites are still just moissanites and carry the inherent value of a moissanite.

Just FYI, i ordered the Harro Gem elongated cushion and the Charles and Colvard. Harro Gem has different sizes and has the cut called a "diamond cut" which looks amazing. I highly recommend it. There is something called a crush ice cut that is also beautiful but i think there is an issue with the stone showing a haze or something under certain lighting conditions. The Charles and Colvard has boring brilliant cuts which sparkles but kind of boring.
Time to grow up and realize you are being duped with the fake value of diamonds. If I can build a Mercedes in my garage in 2 days that's identical to the 100K one on the showroom floor, that means that 100k price tag is fraud. Things with true value can't be replicated so easy.

You cannot tell the difference between a mined diamond and a lab diamond. Not even the most highly trained and respected professionals can tell the difference unless they use equipment.
Theirs really no way to tell they all look identical. The easiest way to tell is the amount of cuts the stone has inside it. But with small stones it’s impossible to tell.
I have never had lab grown diamond, but I can’t really tell the difference I’m not saying that I would buy an lab grown diamond, but anything is possible .

Hi, you are correct, a moissanite is its own type of stone. It is made out of silicon carbide while diamonds and lab grown diamonds are made out of carbon!
Hello, due to the scarcity of naturally mined moissanites, we prefer to choose ethically grown man-made moissanites as they are more readily available.
The price difference between moissanites and lab-grown diamonds can be attributed to factors such as differences in rarity, market perception, manufacturing costs, and the production process involved.
Good question that's why lab grown diamonds are a scam they are currently over inflated in the price and are continously dropping with the more supply that hits the market in a couple of years lab grown diamonds will be around the same price as moissanite a fun fact they also test as moissanite they state there is no difference between lab grown and natural but their is chemically lab grown diamond are electric conductors while natural diamonds are not due to the chemical composition of both stones one has boron lab grown diamonds do while natural diamonds don't people are fooled everyday into thinking they are diamonds but they are very clearly separated to not interfere with the billions of natural diamonds that currently exist
natural moissanite was first discovered at bottom of a hole created by a meteor, that's how they're formed, by meteor impacting the earth. They are very rare and only found in tiny specks of 0.1-1.5mm size, the largest ever found is 4.1mm, and they are full of colours and impurities (asteroid hitting the Earth don't really create clean conditions for high purity crystals). So if you find any on sale that is white or clear and larger than a 1mm speck, it's not natural. not sure why you would even want a natural one except as a sample collection.
Hi Johnny, some people can spot the difference between a moissanite and natural/lab diamond. Lab and natural diamonds are very difficult to tell apart with your naked eye, they require further testing or you can check the GIA or IGI number inscribed on the stone.
Ppl talk bad about LG diamonds as if mined diamonds come out of the ground shiny and brilliant 😅. Natural diamonds are also MAN MADE, natural diamonds are “processed” to become sellable. Has anyone ever seen an “unprocessed” natural diamond? They ugly and look like a regular rock 😅
The obvious choice would then be a lab grown diamond. I don’t trust the pricing of the natural diamond which I believe is a marketing strategy by De Beers. Just go to any jewelry district that sells diamonds or diamond jewelry and there is no scarcity of diamonds. Try selling a natural diamond after you buy one and it’s next to impossible.
there are natural moissanite but they are extremely rare that they are not really even on the market. I think they are created by meteor of certain size or larger impact on the ground. that's how they were first discovered, bottom of an ancient hole created by a meteor.
Personally, I see the difference in the clarity. If you get a super high quality natural stone and get its counterpart then I’d say you will always win getting lab grown, but when it comes to larger natural stones, I prefer a little less opacity. My 2 cents. Thanks for the information!
Are we really living in a glass house where a complete stranger asks you are those real your wearing or Lab made because if there is not coal then you're not in the club LoL ✌️
I like how diamonds look, but their price is artificially inflated. They release them slowly to create the illusion of scarcity. There are over 1 Quatrillion Tons of diamonds in the earth. I feel like a sucker for the diamonds I purchased in the past.
@juhadexcelsior diamonds are supposed to be like ice.... that's the whole point of the white light and why they say "iced out" . The rainbow makes moissanite look more like cz
@@MasterofLOLsha Both Cz and diamond have equivalent and the same level of rainbow effects, moissanite outshines both in a totally different category of its own. CZ has a closer refraction number closer to diamond than moissanite. CZ is nowhere near moissanite when it comes to rainbow effect. It's chemically impossible and is actually visually closer to diamond.

I can tell the difference between moissanite, lab grown or diamond just by looking at them. Moissanite is just lifeless shiny stone. Lab grown is closer to diamond by sparkles and fire, but I found lab diamonds are stupid expensive. Just add more and buy diamond. Diamonds forever!
I’m calling bullshit on all of those here that are saying they can see the difference. If jewelers that have been working 10+ years with these stones can’t tell the difference then I doubt Karen who looked at stones for 3 days can.
Lab grown diamonds have no resale value. There is no scarcity and are unlimited. That means there can be infinite and if there is infinite value goes down. If your thinking of upgrading later that lab diamond won’t be worth much because there has been hundreds and thousands made after the fact.
Only a fool would waste their money on a natural diamond. When the naked eye cannot tell the difference, there is no reason to spend the extra money. If she demands a natural diamond, run!
DIAMONDS ARE FOR SUCKERS. I CANT EVEN BELIEVE P ARE ACTUALLY STILL GET RIPPED OFF De Beers made one of the steepest cuts to its diamond prices in years, as the world's top producer tries to revive gem sales after the market ground to a halt. The industry almost came to a complete standstill in the second half of 2023 as the two biggest miners all but stopped supplies in a desperate attempt to stem a collapse in prices.
Diamonds don't take millions of years. Natural diamonds with the right neural conditions can be formed in weeks to months. Question for you market story tellers. How long does carbon last for? How can diamonds have carbon in them if carbon lasts for only..... I'll let you look at that. It is a lie that the industry tells I order to have a very high price. Natural diamonds do are beautiful and can stay in the ground for a while. And it takes a lot of work to cut them..but there are a lot of diamonds. So you have countries like Russia that holds back millions of carrots of diamonds in order to control the narrative or over pricing the Diamonds. Anyway. Thought I would put my two cents in

Thank you. Such a helpful video! Happily gave the 800th like.
This video saves me $20,000 ! 😋
Lol
very helpful and informative. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Moissanite gang all day
Dope video
So I like Moissanite
Is there a large price difference between a lab grown vs moissanite?
To some degree yes- depends on the size of the stone but for a 2 carat stone, a lab grown will be about $4000 more
Yeah, you can get a 2 carat moissante for around $100
@@laurenbjewelrywhy is that if they’re both made in a lab under similar conditions? Is this artificial price inflation?
@@Yahsbsuq all gemstones have an inherent value due to their properties. Having said that, despite both being made in a lab they’re completely different stones with different properties which is what you’re paying for - not the method of creation. You can make ice cubes in a lab too but that doesn’t make them any more valuable. Lab made moissanites are still just moissanites and carry the inherent value of a moissanite.
@@thatchannel5294Or less money if you sell jewelry and can market it for any price selling a ring it has 14 VVS1 moissanite stones which are all 0.5 mm which thats very big
On etsy, trying to order a ring and the lab created option is half the price of moissanite. Any idea why?
Lab diamonds still use the 4c scale bigger Mossinite are still higher price. I prefer lab imo cause mossi in the light they remind me of cz
What kind of moissanite was used in this video?
Harro Gem elongated cushion and for the round it is Charles & Colvard
@@laurenbjewelry Thanks, what are the cuts?
Just FYI, i ordered the Harro Gem elongated cushion and the Charles and Colvard. Harro Gem has different sizes and has the cut called a "diamond cut" which looks amazing. I highly recommend it. There is something called a crush ice cut that is also beautiful but i think there is an issue with the stone showing a haze or something under certain lighting conditions. The Charles and Colvard has boring brilliant cuts which sparkles but kind of boring.
Do you buy rough diamond?
Time to grow up and realize you are being duped with the fake value of diamonds. If I can build a Mercedes in my garage in 2 days that's identical to the 100K one on the showroom floor, that means that 100k price tag is fraud. Things with true value can't be replicated so easy.
I agree!
Why does the natural diamond have rainbow lighting
Hi Mahnoor, it is just the way the lighting is hitting its facets!
Which setting is the best for moissanite to help it sparkle the prettiest (most) haha ? Theyre gorgeous.
Hi, you can email info@laurenb.com and a design consultant can give you some advice!
Well it should be obvious what setting of moissanite sparkles the most which infact im selling a ring its 925 silver with a 0.5 carat moissanite stone which the color is D color best color and the clarity is FL best clarity and the cut is EX best cut 10/10 moissanite stone best you could ever get id probably sell this ring for $50 or $60
❤Moissonite ❤
Nice
Very nice vidéo💯👍
Thanks!
I see the difference very clear. Real diamonds are like river water it’s gorgeous
Thank you for that excellent explanation! Not!
You cannot tell the difference between a mined diamond and a lab diamond. Not even the most highly trained and respected professionals can tell the difference unless they use equipment.
Team Moissanite 💎💎💎💎
Theirs really no way to tell they all look identical. The easiest way to tell is the amount of cuts the stone has inside it. But with small stones it’s impossible to tell.
I have never had lab grown diamond, but I can’t really tell the difference I’m not saying that I would buy an lab grown diamond, but anything is possible .
We were 🤔😏brainwashed over 💎💍diamonds to overlook Moissanite and it rare properties. There are countless other gemstones that are rare as well. Some of which, we'll never discover.
Can you please expound upon pink and other color diamonds, thank you❓❔
if anyone wants moissanite jewelry lmk cuz im selling 3 moissanite rings one is your average moissanite $33 one is VVS1 moissanite $75 and the best moissanite ring that I have well I haven't priced it yet but im thinking $50 or $60 maybe $70
You forgot to mention that moissanite also detects as a diamond on the diamond tester
Hey guy's pease update your video quality, 720p is bot enough to see the beauty of these we need 4k
Why do you compare a real moissanite to to real diamond
Doesn't moissanite take longer to lab grow?
It all depends on the size and shape!
With this information, I gather that moissanite is its own stone. I am assuming in short it’s not a fake diamond could somebody let me know
Hi, you are correct, a moissanite is its own type of stone. It is made out of silicon carbide while diamonds and lab grown diamonds are made out of carbon!
Lab diamond is where it’s at
So you didn't review / don't review natural mind moissanite only man made moissanite?
Hello, due to the scarcity of naturally mined moissanites, we prefer to choose ethically grown man-made moissanites as they are more readily available.
Thine comment is 💯💯💯💯true, cute, worded, quite cleverly, hilarious.🤩🤣😆🙃😀
I'm going to Google the price ranges of naturally, minded Moissanites.
Get lab grown type IIa.
In 3 minutes or less! Video length: 4:39
If both are lab-grown, why are moissanites 90% cheaper than lab-grown diamonds?
The price difference between moissanites and lab-grown diamonds can be attributed to factors such as differences in rarity, market perception, manufacturing costs, and the production process involved.
@@laurenbjewelryit’s just that they are diamonds, it’s the market that decides it people love them. However, people are also not that smart lol.
I read that natural moissanite is very rare. Is it?
Yes very rare in its natural state
@@laurenbjewelry I see a couple of natural moissanite listed for sale...how can I be sure it's natural?
natural moissanite was first discovered at bottom of a hole created by a meteor, that's how they're formed, by meteor impacting the earth.
@@crystalrobbinsgreen5785 natural moissanite is extremely rare so if it’s affordable, it was grown in a lab.
yes but how do you tell the difference...geesh
Hi Johnny, some people can spot the difference between a moissanite and natural/lab diamond. Lab and natural diamonds are very difficult to tell apart with your naked eye, they require further testing or you can check the GIA or IGI number inscribed on the stone.
@@laurenbjewelry
Lab/Natural difficult to spot with the naked eye?
Actually IMPOSSIBLE to detect with the naked eye.
Moissanite diamonds are so stunning. You can't hardly tell the difference between the real diamond 💎 or moissanite diamond 💎.
Moissanites are not diamonds. Diamonds are diamonds. Moissanites are just moissanites.

Is moissonite lab grown ? or do we get natural moissanite
Lab grown
@@laurenbjewelry thanks. I too found out. many are misleading as natural stone.
there are natural moissanite but they are extremely rare that they are not really even on the market.
Natural for the win, some snakey jewelry sales people would say they are the same as lab. Sure they look the same but natural will always be better
No
Webster is Mojasdanite
Only one here has the oil slick problem.
I feel like a sucker for the diamonds I purchased in the past.
sounds like the Kimberley process is the total scam of diamond suppliers self-certifying their own diamonds as ethically sourced.
Seems legit 🤦♂
Basically zero difference between moissanite and diamond apart from subtle differences in sharpness and fire.
The diamond looks more "crisp" and the rainbow gives it away. Could tell immediately which one was the moissanite
@@MasterofLOLsha diamond looks more dull, it lacks color
@juhadexcelsior diamonds are supposed to be like ice.... that's the whole point of the white light and why they say "iced out" . The rainbow makes moissanite look more like cz
@@MasterofLOLsha Both Cz and diamond have equivalent and the same level of rainbow effects, moissanite outshines both in a totally different category of its own. CZ has a closer refraction number closer to diamond than moissanite. CZ is nowhere near moissanite when it comes to rainbow effect. It's chemically impossible and is actually visually closer to diamond.
@juhadexcelsior lol buy it doesn't flash white ! Even if they both flash rainbow at the same lvl it's not the point its the refraction of white light

I have no idea how moissanites look like. Moissanites on Temu don't look white clear like in this video. They are more yellow. LOL. I like diamond more.
Natural diamonds has lot of unclusion.
It depends on the diamond.
Buy a Moissanite ring, with the rest of the money have a nice vacation.
Hilll Pass
Wrong. Natural diamond prices have been consistently going down year over year.
Lab grown diamonds have no resale value. There is no scarcity and are unlimited. That means there can be infinite and if there is infinite value goes down. If your thinking of upgrading later that lab diamond won’t be worth much because there has been hundreds and thousands made after the fact.
Lmao same with natural diamonds. There's literally tons of it. It's just the company intentionally strict the supply and control the price 😂
@@ariefghani2380 yeah but it’s more limited then lab. It’s called demand and supply. To much supply depreciates

@@jacob0316 It’s not an investment, just try and resell it, and see how much less you get than what you originally paid!
Diamond expensive not because of creation process, it's because ONE FREAKING COMPANY CONTROLS THE WHOLE MARKET
Moissanites are very rainbow glittery as opposed to the silvery white sparkle of a natural or lab grown diamonds. Don't like them at all.
The industry almost came to a
complete standstill in the second half of
2023 as the two biggest miners all but
stopped supplies in a desperate attempt
to stem a collapse in prices.
