@@e_duble_d depends on what type of vehicle you got . For example a closed trunk space you may want a bigger setup. But if you have an open space like a truck or hatchback then svr would serve you well.

Ordered a SVR 10” DVC2 for my Skar RP 800 amp that slid right into my factory Skar SDR Enclosure perfectly replacing 10” DVC2 SDR (working fine). My Skar RP 800 watt rms amp and a 1600 watt SVR sub pushing it seems to be doing it’s job well! My 10” Skar SVR DVC2 is a beast! Since making this post I have swapped out my Skar RP 800 amp(working fine) to a Down4Sound’s JP8 that has made a huge difference always running system at 1ohm just seems the JP8 gives “ALOT” more power but seems to pull alot less voltage on factory battery/alternator in 20’ Civic. I’m very happy with both swaps with nothing wrong with what I had just experimenting. I bought one of these as soon as they came out, payed 145 for it brand new, and still have it almost 3 years later, my skar 12 svr d2 has been and absolute trooper, it has always been on a 2500 watt amp and it takes it with no issues, I'm extremely satisfied with them, gonna buy one more and have a dual setup

You left out the best overall sub the ddx. Basically a budget sundown sa. Bigger motor & more efficient. Had actual r&d when building them great all around.
I run Sundown, 2 15" Zv4s on 6k rms. They cost a lot, but they are worth it, not all that musical if you are into SQ, but they slam like champs on lows.
I've heard both but prefer the price of Skar Audio I run a single Skar Audio ZVX 12 dual 2 ohm in my car rated at 3000 max 1500 for 329.99 can't beat it
Man I build subs been in car audio for 26 yrs and I don't give a damn what anyone will tell you but most subs are about the same if they are using quality parts the same size motor can mount to many baskets the basket just needs the appropriate size spider landing to go with the motor and deep enough for the right cone the voice coil and cone matter but that's just manufacturer prefence whether they want more musical an SPL monster or a low end machine will depend on coil basket soft parts and motor size. Many jackasses might say otherwise after my post but don't believe them cause they might like a particular brand any company will say the same I just keep it real and its gonna be hard to find someone that's been doing this longer than me with more experience. Some companies over build their subs like sundown and they will be more expensive some underbuild them like rockville and are garbage and cheap its about what you are looking for out of your system to what subs you need no particular brand really matters its just marketing to make money that's why so many subs look alike from all manufacturers
It hits lows pretty good I just bought mine for my 95 f150 single cab. I put bucket seats in so my 12s sit in the middle and boy let me tell you.. it slaps hard af

I see a power craze going on since amps have progressed so much lately We used to do a lot of work with light cone high sensitivity subs in a proper designed ported enclosure The old Vega 124d comes to mind, they would slam with 600w or so and sounded fantastic as well These giant motors were seeing lately absorb so much energy just to move them they're only designed to eat up tons of power which is wasteful in terms of physics These skar paper cone subs can probably get just as loud as a higher model with half the watts, which is more likely to work with your everyday vehicle charging system 20 years ago I did 150db legal 161db outlaw with a single zeb 15 with a 2300x and stock charging system in a little 4 banger nissan reg cab just had an optima and a cap.. That was what guys were doing with 8 12s 4 batteries and 4 amps at the time, optimization and tuning is far more important than how many watts that thang got 🤣

Oh.. A 2Ω version SVR would rock on this Skar 1000.1 monoblock. I could drop it down to 1Ω. Or two of those 4Ω dropped down to two ohm and down to one bridged at the amp. Good score Parker!

Parker Dacchille how do these compare to p3 12’s?? I been a fosgate guy for a long time but i did have a ddx 12 had in a digital design box it hit good it sat with about 700-900 watts at about 50% gain on a prime 1,200 watt amp
I have 2 SDR D4 10" subs in the custom skar svr side ported box on a SKV2 1500.1 and id say they are the loudest 2 10s i ever heard. I usually ran 12s or 15s but i have a small car that i am not shoving 12s in but surprisingly i cant tell any difference. These svr 10s sound as good or better than some 12s ive had. I thought the skar box looked too small but let me tell you, it hits, especially the lows. After they broke in they sounded 50% better. They do need a break in period for sure. Id say they are the best musical sub i ever owned but they can get down with some spl too. Great all around sub for any daily. I love mine. Im not a fan of prefab boxes but that box is insane that sdr comes in. It has alot going on inside. It wasnt just thrown together and you can definitely tell when you hear it after the subs break in. Im glad i got 10s now and saved some trunk space. This is the 1st set of 10s i ever ran in 24 years of having systems (im 42) and i was afraid i wouldnt like them and they wouldnt hit hard enough. I was shocked at how hard they hit. Todays generation is spoiled with great subs and cheap power, and music that doesnt skip from the bass like cds did for us. I wished we had subs like this back then. Todays subs are insane. The new generation doesnt know how good they have it. The 80s bass heads had to run house speakers because car audio didnt exist. Cerwin vega was a popular choice back then. Its crazy how times have changed. Im rambling and getting off topic, great video Parker. Thank you. Update afterb1 year. I removed subs from the box and noticed skar sent me subs with cracked magnets. They still play but skar wontnpay to ship them back. Its 100 dollars. They are under warranty but its useless on cheap subs. This is my last skarbage subs ill ever buy.

i got one of these in the skar prefab "2 cubic ft" box at 1ohm on a ct sounds t1000.1d in a 4runner. it easily hurts my ears and shakes the wipers. breaking it in takes a minute. it takes a lot of power.
Are you going to upgrade your audio pipe amp to a better brand with more power?Impedance rise is killing the power that's going to your sub you need a more powerful amplifier so even with impedance rise you can still get the power your sub is rated. The orion xtr and hcca are beasts
I'm not Shure what material you would use but if you ever want to keep ur box volume correct for different reviews you could have blocks of whatever dimentions/volumes to bolt down inside the box like nylon or HDPE blocks or something to reduce the volume...just thinking should work id think? HDPE (most bucket material) is easy to mold into shapes.

Running 2 skar zvx 15s . They can take power... currently have 3k on em and they begging for more .. was going to put 8k on it but I’m going with 5k to be safe... remember subs are cheap ..good power amps aren’t .
You must be digging the SKAR brand with another sub and the coaxial upgrades to the Jeep to me personally this sub kinda falls in the same category as the BAMF and MOFO and Gothic subs kinda like why build this sub when they already have others pretty close in performance and price range and th basket looks close to the Gothic not that that's a bad thing IMO the Gothic and the BAMF are decent subs in there own right but The SKAR sounded great seemed to eat the power you threw at it with no problem.Loving the videos bro keep on banging the bass and SOMEONE is bound to sponsor you .You deserve it .

I'm Really Considering Doing Videos Like This. I Have An DD M5 (8k @1 Ohm) On 2 320 Amp Alts, 8 Banks Of 6 Ultra Caps, And 2 50AH Lithium Batteries. I Would Buy Requested Entry Level Subs To Review. Build A Box Similar To Manufacturers Specs And Power The Hell Out Of Them and See How They Do. I Would Just Throw The Sub And Box In My Jeep And Run A Speaker Wire From My Cars DD M5 And Electrical And See How They Do. Sounds Like So Much Fun 😁

To check how hot the subs get instead of checking the dust cap u can take out the sub and touch the tinsel leads that’s the thing that heats up most and quickest
I got 5 of these in the 15s version.. on 2 skar rp2000.1ds.. going for 6. ithink im gonna swap out the amps for 2 taramps smart 3ks.. these slam for what they are.. not to big into the 12"s though

I have a svr d2 8" wired at 4ohms in a box tuned to 29hz at 1.10 cubic ft an rattles the whole house. Using in my home as a home subwoofer.

You should test the cerwin Vega strokers 12 sometime. I've heard good things about it.

What is your recommendation for a 12" sub that is loud but has really good sound quality?
Also, is there a big difference in sound between a paper cone and plastic cone?

Parker Dacchille how do these compare to p3 12’s?? I been a fosgate guy for a long time but i did have a ddx 12 had in a digital design box it hit good it sat with about 700-900 watts at about 50% gain on a prime 1,200 watt amp

Andrew Procter I’m thinking bout buying one how loud is it can you hear it far away does it kill the lows and have breath taking bass.
I have 2 SDR D4 10" subs in the custom skar svr side ported box on a SKV2 1500.1 and id say they are the loudest 2 10s i ever heard. I usually ran 12s or 15s but i have a small car that i am not shoving 12s in but surprisingly i cant tell any difference. These svr 10s sound as good or better than some 12s ive had. I thought the skar box looked too small but let me tell you, it hits, especially the lows. After they broke in they sounded 50% better. They do need a break in period for sure. Id say they are the best musical sub i ever owned but they can get down with some spl too. Great all around sub for any daily. I love mine. Im not a fan of prefab boxes but that box is insane that sdr comes in. It has alot going on inside. It wasnt just thrown together and you can definitely tell when you hear it after the subs break in. Im glad i got 10s now and saved some trunk space. This is the 1st set of 10s i ever ran in 24 years of having systems (im 42) and i was afraid i wouldnt like them and they wouldnt hit hard enough. I was shocked at how hard they hit. Todays generation is spoiled with great subs and cheap power, and music that doesnt skip from the bass like cds did for us. I wished we had subs like this back then. Todays subs are insane. The new generation doesnt know how good they have it. The 80s bass heads had to run house speakers because car audio didnt exist. Cerwin vega was a popular choice back then. Its crazy how times have changed. Im rambling and getting off topic, great video Parker. Thank you. Update afterb1 year. I removed subs from the box and noticed skar sent me subs with cracked magnets. They still play but skar wontnpay to ship them back. Its 100 dollars. They are under warranty but its useless on cheap subs. This is my last skarbage subs ill ever buy.

i got one of these in the skar prefab "2 cubic ft" box at 1ohm on a ct sounds t1000.1d in a 4runner. it easily hurts my ears and shakes the wipers. breaking it in takes a minute. it takes a lot of power.

Are you going to upgrade your audio pipe amp to a better brand with more power?Impedance rise is killing the power that's going to your sub you need a more powerful amplifier so even with impedance rise you can still get the power your sub is rated. The orion xtr and hcca are beasts

I'm not Shure what material you would use but if you ever want to keep ur box volume correct for different reviews you could have blocks of whatever dimentions/volumes to bolt down inside the box like nylon or HDPE blocks or something to reduce the volume...just thinking should work id think? HDPE (most bucket material) is easy to mold into shapes.

The NVX VCW probably had the best quality. But as for loudest I couldn’t really say. That totally depends on power, box tuning, etc...

I had 2 12" Flame Qs in a 3:1 4th order. ran them on a A2300HCT at 1 ohm.... they was nasty for early 2000s 👍🏼

Running 2 skar zvx 15s . They can take power... currently have 3k on em and they begging for more .. was going to put 8k on it but I’m going with 5k to be safe... remember subs are cheap ..good power amps aren’t .

You must be digging the SKAR brand with another sub and the coaxial upgrades to the Jeep to me personally this sub kinda falls in the same category as the BAMF and MOFO and Gothic subs kinda like why build this sub when they already have others pretty close in performance and price range and th basket looks close to the Gothic not that that's a bad thing IMO the Gothic and the BAMF are decent subs in there own right but The SKAR sounded great seemed to eat the power you threw at it with no problem.Loving the videos bro keep on banging the bass and SOMEONE is bound to sponsor you .You deserve it .

Thanks man! I’ve had the Bamf, MOFO, and Gothic. While they aren’t bad subs the build quality of the scars I’ve rated has been better and they have performed better
You need to test some Kickers. I have CVR 12s silver 07 series. I know the current CVRs run about $130 new.

I'm Really Considering Doing Videos Like This. I Have An DD M5 (8k @1 Ohm) On 2 320 Amp Alts, 8 Banks Of 6 Ultra Caps, And 2 50AH Lithium Batteries. I Would Buy Requested Entry Level Subs To Review. Build A Box Similar To Manufacturers Specs And Power The Hell Out Of Them and See How They Do. I Would Just Throw The Sub And Box In My Jeep And Run A Speaker Wire From My Cars DD M5 And Electrical And See How They Do. Sounds Like So Much Fun 😁

I have a CAB and it sounds damn good, their cheaper sub... not the Sundown blueprint. Im impressed for $129. I wish i got her in dual 2 instead of dual 4

Is the SVR and the EVL Built the same? They just have different rms handling? I’m trying to decide on the SVR or EVL. obvious the EVL can handle more but if they’re built the same, I’ll just get the SVR Till I get a bigger amp that has more than 1200rms watts. Or what do you think?

To check how hot the subs get instead of checking the dust cap u can take out the sub and touch the tinsel leads that’s the thing that heats up most and quickest
I got 5 of these in the 15s version.. on 2 skar rp2000.1ds.. going for 6. ithink im gonna swap out the amps for 2 taramps smart 3ks.. these slam for what they are.. not to big into the 12"s though
