Starting from the receiver, then I would like to have a equalizer last time I was satisfied with 9band but idk I might go bigger than 9band. I had an IX10dual 2 wired to 1 ohm on an rp800.1 and blew the sub within five minutes lol. Also didn’t really know what I was doing at the time. Thanks to people like you I have learned a tremendous amount. Keep it up man!
i had 3 sets of those in my house (vid on my channel) and i really did love them, they do rated and are cost effective been looking at sound stream bxw124 as well, pretty low price with similar specs except 114 oz(bigger) mag 2400w claimed but i suspect more like 750(+250) max 2 inch coil (same)
Took my girl to the Made of Steel show this past weekend. Now she wants me to install a system in her Ford Escape. LOL. That pair of subs would be a great start for her! Keep up the great content. 👍🏻
Used to have a set of these in a box I made/tuned specifically for these subs. They were pretty loud and very efficient, was definitely happy with them. Used to pump about double the RMS rated power into them and they held up. Good subs for a budget build!
I have a pair that im overpowering by about 200 watts rms. You think they will still last as long as clipping is under control? How long did your subs last where you pumped double the rms?

Parker u are aware ur gonna fry ur amp by blowing subs with it when a sub blows usually both speaker connectins touch so basically ur sending huge amount of power then taking the positive and negative and touching them together i bet ur amp goes into protect everytime u blow a sub with it

Hey Parker ill take those BlackBrick subs. I'll be putting them in my 08 Malibu. I lost my old setup because of my stupidity. My old car got towed and I waited to long to try a get it back. They sold my car for auction. I lost a Mtx 2400x, 2 12 inch Rockford Fosgate hx2s in a dual slot ported box, Diamond Audio M3 6.5 and 6x9s, Jvc head unit, and just a cheap legacy 2 channel on my highs. I wish I still had it to put in my new car. I really miss having a system. Im a long time basshead and a ex installer. Shout out to The Sound Factory in Knoxville Tennessee.
Go to Walmart. Search in plumbing area, bathroom, and/or automotive you will find what looks like a swirly snail which is a thin one sided sticky foam gasketing/padding which I recommend you add to the back of your license plates. It will help absorb the vibration. Nothing I hate more than rattling parts of vehicles. I only allow it if I hear the bass over the noise... I wish I still had my two 12in HCCA's. Teamed those up with a JL 500.1... Those handled pretty well..

I just killed a set of subs with a bad set of RCA cables I didn’t find till it was to late would really help to have some new ones for the trunk it’s amazing how fast distortion will melt a voice coil when you don’t know it’s there LOL when the sound changes remember something is causing it to change... keep up the good work and testing
Parker isnt the only one who stress tested these subs, I gave them an endurance test on top of extremely overpowering them. I bought 4 of these Skar IX10" subwoofers as a temporary setup and i still am beating on them a year later. I have them running at a final impedance of 1 ohm on my (Get this...) Skar SKV2 2500.1 Most people arnt running that much power to alot better model subs, so im maxing out my monster of an amp on them and they just keep playing. Every so often they will stink, cool off and keep slamming. I bought that amp because i was going to get better subs and i still am, but these ix subs have became a sort of experiment now, lol. For the price they definitely impressed me. In case anyone was going to comment, my electrical is all 1/0 ofc and I have 2 xs power xp3000 batteries to keep my amp in plenty of power. My voltage doesn't drop hardly at all. So these subs are getting legit power. I'm not sending dirty signal through them and my amp has a clip light. I would have loved these subs in the 90s. Great channel Parker. You remind me of myself 20+ years ago, lol. Young guys now days have a lot better equipment at way lower cost than we did growing up I the 80s and 90s. You all are lucky.

@@jorgem50 I like re audio and audio pipe for budget if I’m going really cheap boss subs in sealed boxes hit pretty good but for my comp build I used x18’s there massive and best for the buck find one used and you’ll see what I mean and the magnets and coils are made beautifully mine has a dual .5 ohm with the 8layer flat aluminum with the black stuff on them for heat dissipation and the vents are huge to cool them off the audio pipe txx15 seems to be a pretty good sub nice sized vents but a kinda annoying terminal I was gonna have two of them but decided on sundown
I just got done my Dakota build, all 6.5 pioneers all around with two 6x9s in a sealed box in the rear with a 2 Jensen 12s on a 800rms watt amp and they bang but they don't really take the amp well so those subs would work perfect! Definitely would bang harder than the jensens

Yo! It was cool to see something different! Definitely put me in the running for those Black Brick subs! Those cheap Skar subs were seeing 2k-3k for a good long time before they blew up. Just goes to show, you can put a lot of clean power on even decent quality subs in general before they blow up, and these subs with 3 inch coils with the black high temp glue should take a ton of clean power before they go, so don't be afraid to overpower your subs a little bit. Clipping is usually what kills subs when they have the right amount of power. This is why clip lights are such a valuable thing to have on your amp in my opinion. Ill pay the extra money for a decent amp with a clip light on the bass knob. Its so useful for finding the clip point of the head unit, the amp, and the particular song you are playing at the moment. Even if you set your gains with a DD1+ or something, every song can have a different clip point. Especially those bass boosted songs that us car audio enthusiasts like to demo and play for people.
Ive had an ix8 & ix12 blow with rated power. No bottoming out or nun. The ix12 had some voicecoil strands come apart. It didnt even burn up, just fell apart. I wish they made em better, they sound great when they’re not burning or falling apart. They may take some power, but they’ll blow sooner than later.

1-stars for these on amazon are nearly all saying that the voice coil came apart at rated wattage (150RMS). These videos are great, though. You can almost predict when the sub is about to blow, once you see the impedance quickly rising. It was sitting around 1.8ohms. When it started creeping up to 2.6, I knew they were about to go.

I agree. skar is underated. I have 12 ZVX-18s with 3k RMS on each of them.

Ive put the 12" & 15" Qpowers thru 5000 watts and they held up amazingly

Yo! It was cool to see something different! Definitely put me in the running for those Black Brick subs! Those cheap Skar subs were seeing 2k-3k for a good long time before they blew up. Just goes to show, you can put a lot of clean power on even decent quality subs in general before they blow up, and these subs with 3 inch coils with the black high temp glue should take a ton of clean power before they go, so don't be afraid to overpower your subs a little bit. Clipping is usually what kills subs when they have the right amount of power. This is why clip lights are such a valuable thing to have on your amp in my opinion. Ill pay the extra money for a decent amp with a clip light on the bass knob. Its so useful for finding the clip point of the head unit, the amp, and the particular song you are playing at the moment. Even if you set your gains with a DD1+ or something, every song can have a different clip point. Especially those bass boosted songs that us car audio enthusiasts like to demo and play for people.
Those two subs would be perfect for the 83 Buick Regal that I’m rebuilding, they aren’t too powerful so I don’t think they would ruin the t tops
Ive had an ix8 & ix12 blow with rated power. No bottoming out or nun. The ix12 had some voicecoil strands come apart. It didnt even burn up, just fell apart. I wish they made em better, they sound great when they’re not burning or falling apart. They may take some power, but they’ll blow sooner than later.

Whats up Parker! I can't believe those Skar $54 subs took that much power before blowing. If I won those 12's, I wouldn't blow em and throw them off my roof that's for sure. Not that there's anything wrong with that. lol! That was awesome! But seriously, I would build a box and hook them up in my sons car on an old Hifonics amp that I've had forever.

I worked a long time bought a taramps 3k ,ran all 0 Guage wire,got my crossovers and tweeters,extra battery, custom made box for 2 12s... then my mom passed away on 5-19 and I used everything for her funeral so now I have to wait on my build.

1-stars for these on amazon are nearly all saying that the voice coil came apart at rated wattage (150RMS). These videos are great, though. You can almost predict when the sub is about to blow, once you see the impedance quickly rising. It was sitting around 1.8ohms. When it started creeping up to 2.6, I knew they were about to go.

I made the 2x4 box 4.5cu tuned to 34hz. Videos on my channel. It’s pushing svr12s with rp2000.1. The box is my first build ever. It’s bangs so hard. I love your videos. I find out what subs can handle what. Like dyno video but better because you test it out with songs on a crazy setup.

Thats actually a decent box for low to mid level subs tuned around 35.htz but the port hole is so small

I have 2 EVL 12s not in use and one VXF 12 currently in my car and I would recommend the EVL complete dual 12 system combo they offer when available
If I were lucky enough to win the subs I would have a much needed upgrade currently only have one 8 inch massive gtx84 I really expected way too much out of the 8 inch super bummed about that. Keep the videos coming they keep me sane in my free time while working overnight

Would love to have those black bricks in my extended cab F-150 I built a custom box under the back seat to 36 HZ ported box in the middle. I have a taramps MD 5000.1 I bought because I watch your videos for a while I like them I just don't have no subs.. the box is 3/4 MDF with fiberglass reinforce.. good videos bro you been very helpful with my build

Love your videos. I'm new to channel. But your videos are very educational. To be honest I've never won any kind of contest in my life, but if did win. I would give it to my son so he can start his build. He's a really good student and is graduating this year from high school and is going into automotive technology.
