'Sometimes numbers really don't matter. Say, when the roof's down in the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante, warm Spanish air gently tousling your hair, V12 soundtrack overlaid in your head with Matt Munro's "On Days Like These..."
At a semi-hypothetical time like this, for example, a 0-62 mile-per-hour acceleration figure and how it compares to another car's 0-62-mph figure simply isn't important. As long as the car has enough torsional rigidity, then precisely how much it has is of no concern. And will you be worried as you sweep through the Catalan countryside that you're in a car with six pounds less downforce? I just don't think you will.'

I don't know if every journalist is being deliberately wrong about the "superleggera" badge just to generate comments, but... Yes, it translates to "super light" but it's there as a tribute to the Italian coach builder "touring superleggera", they did the bodywork on the DB4, DB5 and DB6. There... Now you know!

If they put in a naturally aspirated engine, made the interior less AMG like and gave it the rear end of 2018 Vanquish S it would be perfect.

So, you want a totally different car? You also want a car that's poorly engineered? Because that's what a car with a naturally aspirated engine is - it's poorly engineered. A car will always be better with turbos.

@@David-ud9ju lmao. The greatest cars of all time are NA. In terms of feel, immediate reaction and pure visceral music the na is always the best. Any petrol head who knows anything about cars loves na cars and for pure driving experience very few turbocharged cars have come close to an na engine. The new Amg and ferrari challenge engine (pista) come almost close, but that's just it. Almost.

People seem to forget what opinions mean. Frankly, some of the points being made about this car just baffle me. EVERY car on earth has negatives and positives, I see people complaining about the screen. What on earth are you doing driving a V12 Aston Martin looking at a screen? So what if an Aventador is 6/10ths of a second faster to 60. Just think about it, 0.6 seconds! 😂😂😂 Its laughable, the simple answer is if you cant afford the car, dont slag it off. This goes for any car, not just the Aston.

The engineering of the car is excellent; Everything an Aston Martin should be. But the designed looks misses the mark.
A 50p shaped steering wheel is just the start of the problems. Interior is just an incoherent mess. DB11 interior is poor, and the DBS adds more schizophrenia. The Vantage has this problem too (I fear the DBX also may be a mess too - at time of writing we haven't see the interior). Externally it really just has the one major problem; that nose. It didn't work on the Rapide, and doesn't work on the DBS. It needs fixed.
These are problems which can be solved, and with it Aston's sales will improve. Alas, the Vantage's design problems inside and out are so deep it's going to need a clean sheet. The engineering is fine, just how it's wrapped up.
And Aston needs to go its own way with the infotainment rather than having old Mercedes kit. Needs to be on-point with this.

    "Superlight" nearly 2 tons
Ridiculously expensive, unreliable, interior is ghastly, not very fast considering the powerplant

Wheels are too big and the side profile is too low. This forces the engineers to have to overengineer the suspension to compensate for a horrible rim/tire size. Would be much better with a smaller wheel and tires with a taller sidewall.
