    Who gives dry weights? Useless. If it requires fluid to move, you include it inthe weight

    • @sharonshyam6667
      @sharonshyam6667 6 лет назад +2

      Blake Swan if you include the wet weight, then it's not supposedly a "superlight" car.

    • @moomoodeadcow
      @moomoodeadcow 6 лет назад +3

      Because you are constantly using that fuel and the net weight + payload (yourself, passenger and cargo) the total amount of net weight is constantly changing and pointless to give a number.
      Also if you are serious about lap times you need to know exactly how much fuel you need for that session and on pump in that amount and a little more reserve.
      Often times race cars achieve better or even record breaking lap times nearing the end of the race.
      This is somewhat irrelevant but racing events have regulations regarding weight. Usually it is measured with dry weight + rider + gear.

      It's because there is no unified standard. Italian car makers give weight in complete dry no fluids at all. So when competing with them if you do the usual EU norm with 80% tank filled and 75kg driver and all other fluids, your car seems rather porky in comparison.

    1700 kg (3750 pounds) Dry in other words close to 1900 kg (4200 pound) on road, WOW and they call that Superleggera??? What is Aston smoking. McLaren 720S is 400 kg (900 pounds) lighter.

    • @CJM44.41
      @CJM44.41 6 лет назад +2

      You're confusing a super car with a big GT. This would be 10x better a place to be over a long road trip vs the McLaren and isn't really made to see the likes of a race track.

    • @roletnabih
      @roletnabih 6 лет назад +1

      McLaren M840T weight 190kg....Aston AE31 260 kg....yeah okay. This thing with fuel and drive will be Veyron level of bloat. Makes the GTR look like lightweight.

    • @davidebonannini640
      @davidebonannini640 6 лет назад +3

      roletnabih 1700kg is not bad at all for a big v12 GT. The 720s has nothing to do with this car.

    Let me ask you this: Why would you put it out there by saying "Are we getting bored with Astons"?? Why should we be?? Every manufacturer brings out new cars/models, some even 2 or more in a year. Many manufactures have "family style" or from a similar "stable" of style. So why would you ask us if we are bored with Aston Martin. Maybe, and this is a real possibility, I and others are bored with you.

    Good review. Perhaps AM will become a serious rival to Ferrari's V12's...I'm not sure they're quite there yet, but maybe soon. In fact, all the major marques are getting to be basically perfect (in the same way all major smart phones have become excellent), and it will become increasingly difficult to choose between them. Heritage, rarity and prestige will likely come to the fore (they are already at the fore, but track times, v-max, 0-60 and 1/4 miles also have broad appeal) . All this money apparently sloshing around in the world has allowed these car makers to excel, not least in using lots of carbon fibre for monocoques and panels, etc. It's a golden age.

    Disappointing review for a number of reasons. The sentiment was right but the execution was poor. A heavy, lazy super GT should not be badged “Super Light”. And I’m not sure how you can imply it’s the best of the bunch when the 812 Superfast (which actually lives up to its name rather than betray it) exists. £225k is a big price to pay too.
    I think I’d take a 911 plus an M5/E63 over this!

    Agreed. Talked to much AND did not demonstrate how good the car is. This car is great until one begins to compare it to the Ferrari Superfast or TDF. 1st, AM Cannot match Ferrari to max HP output, EVEN with a turbocharger. 2nd, what it gains in TQ it loses in engine response. 3rd, take these cars to a backroad and the AM will NEVER see which way the Superfast went. So yes, good car in the GT realm but a head to head test will see Superleggera trip over itself.

    Apart from the new Vantage, Aston interiors are a big disappointment. They just don’t have the quality and class of a Bentley. The latest Continental GT interior is stunning! A DB11 looks like a Citroen by comparison and they’re both competing in the same price bracket! If I had the money I’d go for the Bentley, mainly because of that fab interior. While also being a good looking, well handling car too.

    I love the exterior appearance. YES YES ..... However, the interior looks very dated, too much plastic with a small 8" Mazda CX-5 looking monitor. .. They should add some/additional gauges, centrally positioned like Weisman and Bentley. The steering column looks too massive and plastic. They should put more magnesium parts under the hood/bonnet as it is stronger than steel and weighs 30% less than Aluminium. Titanium does not rust, so please a Titanium exhaust. Please, more Titanium fittings/ screws, washers, underneath the cabin and bonnet, because as of 2018 Aston Martin still has a reputation for rusting .

    That nose is definitely wrong. Cabin trim far far too fussy. Otherwise there's a lot to like. But those are two big stinkers for what should be drop dead beautiful.
    Change the nose at least back to an Aston one, even with a large secondary grill below, and it would be a massive improvement (I did a mock-up to the Aston Heritage page on Facebook). Overall, better than the V8 Vantage's looks both inside and out.

    With fuel and driver, it will be "just" under 1900 kg. That's a hippo.

    Nice video but I will say if you’re paying over £200,000 for a car I would expect to to find Aston Martin would’ve come up with a decent looking infotainment system instead of an old Mercedes one
    Just saying

    Beautiful car... but these Aston Martins are all starting to look similar to each other.

    Didn’t think I’d want to fall asleep watching this stunning car, less of this chap babbling and more of the V12 would have been nice.

    So they still didnt fix the only flaw of the Astons, the gearbox. Fix it! apart from the slow and sluggish gearboxes they are amazing. I would chose this before the 812 if it got Porsche pdk, bmw dtc etc....

    I prefer a proper Aston grill, and not that black hole, and the dash design looks dated.

    3 times the price of the Lexus LC500 which has a better interior and is as powerful as 90%of drivers can handle. Nah.
