Tks for sharing! Im 50+ yrs old and only now getting mechanically interested in fixing my small engines myself. This vid got me over worrying I'd wreck the carb and dig into it. Found 1 of the pins for the choke arm assembly had come off preventing the blades in the carb from actuating. Now to pull up the pdf and find the part number i need.
Thank you for posting. My mower was slightly different as far as how its connected on the opposite side of the carb. Just 2 bolts holding a bracket on near the spark plug. You were a ton of help with this process and took all the guess work out. You are the man.
Thank you for such a detailed video on cleaning the cab. My mower would run very rough and eventually die when it warmed up. My first thought was that the choke was not opening up but after checking the automatic choke with a heat gun it work fine and the choke was in fact opening up. My neighbor suggested that when the choke opened that the engine was probably running too lean and that cleaning the carb might help. Your video gave me the confidence to clean the carb. In addition, I also remove the actual jet and the tube inside and used a wire and carb cleaner on those items as well. After cleaning the carb and re-assembling the mower it is running great. (My carb is slightly different that the one in your video.) I would have never cleaned the carb by myself without seeing your video. You saved me a lot of $$$. THANK YOU!!
Great video! I had a problem with my mower that wouldn't start and I didn't want to go to the repair shop. Luckily, I came across your RUclips link. The video and narration are very clear and helpful. I was worried about disconnecting the carburetor spring and links, but it turned out to be easy. I successfully removed and cleaned the carburetor and put everything back together. The mower runs like new now. I added a fuel stabilizer and a few ounces of Sea Foam fuel treatment to the gas. Also, I found out that my local Home Depot has parts for this mower as well.
Thank you for posting!! Never did any work to any type of engine and I was able to clean my carb!!! Really saved me hassle (I have no truck to transport the mower) and $$$!!! Also made me feel like super woman!! Thank you again!
This was a really good video. I'm going to try to clean my daughter's lawn mower carb (just like this one) since it's "surging" up and down when running. The process to get the carb off of the engine was very clear - - and really helpful. Much thanks.
Just picked it up off craigslist $40.00 it runs about a minute I found the carb “Amazon “ about $20.00. You got the exact mower I have Kohler 6.75 hp 149 cc. Thanks I might have to back to your video when I get the carb thanks .

Would cleaning out the float needle area fix a my gas leak problem? The float won't sit level against and when I push it up shut with my finger the leak seems to stop
@smallengineguys I took it apart cleaned it. Put back together still leaking. The float doesn't sit flush and I think the needle isn't properly sitting in there the spring seemed to have lost its springiness.. not sure if I just buy a new carb. ?
Annnnd.. That fixed the leak. It was the float and needle buuut finding just the right needle and float kit was a pain in thr ass-embly, so a new carb for 17 bucks got me a whole new carb kit with fuel line filter and starter. Didn't even need to swap out the fuel line. Just carb and leak gone ( new needle, float )
How do I find the right carb bowl gasket and where? Do I need a certain number? I have the same mower and I need the bowl gasket because it’s leaking gas.
@@charlesknifechief8096 sure exact name. The pin is built in to the controller . Id call it the choke shut off controller. It bolts to the muffler. As it gets hot it shuts off the choke.
