I had a buddy were i used to work way back in 2013, he bought me the crystal blue version for my birthday along with pokemon Y. It was the nicest thing anyone has done for me. I still own them.
The 2DS is a beautiful system. As a 20 year old, I already want this to be my kid's first console.

The 2ds is the only of the 3ds console family I've ever used. Idgaf what anyone calls it, I absolutely will always love the 2ds. Never had a need for 3d function, so the cheaper 2ds is much better
what i don t like about the 2ds is u cannot close it down (sleep mode)

The 2DS is my favorite iteration of the 3DS family of systems. Literally still have my original model from 2014.
I may buy a 2DS someday as well! It looks quirky but certainly not ugly to me. It has this special "charme" to me =))

Wow I have definitely been sleeping on 2DS. That Super Mario Maker one is a beauty and the color scheme actually makes it very appealing!

I actually also recently got a 2DS for the first time at a pawn shop. Red and white with new super mario bros 2 pre installed. I posted about it on the discord about a week ago. Enjoy the 2DS. I love mine because now i can play kid icarus without getting wrist pain lol.

@@BoTalksGames yup its 100% the best way to experience the game. The big shoulder buttons make it so easy to shoot in game.
This console man, I remember when everyone was ripping on it on reveal, I was very optimistic about it and got one about a year after it’s release, never got a 3ds since, the grip you get with this is far better than having to hold the small bottom of a 3ds, and this is still more portable than the switch

The 2DS did come with the charger, and I never saw the AR cards in cardboard sleeves. I only ever bought the 3DS XL on though.
Dude I still have my Mario Maker 2Ds! I bought it new for $80 in 2018! I miss the 2Ds I wish they would make new consoles.
The 2ds in my opinion is the best handheld console ever. It can play 3ds, Ds, Gba, Gbc, and Gb games if you mod it. And I feel it is the most comfortable to hold compared to the other 3ds models. Not to mention the buttons and d pad are incredibly nice to press. Anyways nice video, though I think you maybe got one of the uglier looking ones 😭
I just got one. After dropping nearly 300 for a modded SP. Played and beat all the gba Pokémon games. Even got an EZflash. I am moving on to DS games. And wow. The slab is the way to go. If you don’t already have a DS lite.

The 2ds was the only DS of the 3ds line that I had when I was younger. I just recently got a 3ds this year to play games with the 3D feature and I definitely have been enjoying that, but the 2ds felt more comfy in hand
My first 3DS was actually a refurbished 2DS from Nintendo, back when they had an Ebay page and everything had free shipping. Got the 2DS basically brand new for $50 and a sealed copy of Mario Galaxy 2 Nintendo Selects version for $20. Crazy. And bless Wario64, I got a New 2DS XL refurb from Nintendo cheap as well a year or two ago. If only I could time travel back to Toys R Us in 2017-18 when they still had tons of 3DS games on the shelf.
Never had a 3ds, got a 2ds when it came out because I was already collecting for the Vita and the 2ds was a cheap entry (80 bucks with a game at the time).
The 2ds is the only model of any ds line that does not have a plastic hinge that will eventually break. Also the factory sealed 2ds did indeed come with a charger.
As someone who wants to get the 2Ds for my birthday (my birthday was last week from today, so it will be a late present), thank you for this video! I remember having one years ago but didn’t pay attention to it that much since I also had a 3Ds. But now I wanna give this console a second chance.
Honestly those are so comfy, I liked mine when I had it even though I never really used it. I also use a new 2ds xl which is really nice as well

I've had a 2DS for a good while now its my favourite version of the system very comfortable to use :) especially when you could pick them up for $79.99 brand new with a game :D i bought the black/blue Yo-kai watch bundle

@@traviscunningham7062they actually were more than $100🤑at launch but at the end of the 3ds/2ds life cycle the lowered the price down 2ds at $79.99 while the new 2ds xl was around $100 if not a bit more. 🎮🕹️🎮

I got one of those Mario 2 red and yellow 2DS is back in 2020 at game trader in Sacramento it was it was $56 at the time it was on clearance and had a cracked screen on it and it still runs good it has all the games on it all the pokémon red blue and yellow gold silver and Crystal and all the other stuff and it really comes in good with the ultrasound and ultra Moon games on the Pokemon QR codes it's really a good system it's a lot better than the 2DS that has the clothes clamshell design and it cost more less than what that one
The weight is what surprised me the most. It's a dope little system I still use mine to scratch that DS/3DS itch I get sometimes

I have owned every single console in the 3DS family except for the New 3DS and I always come back to the original 2DS. Comfortable, reliable, nice buttons with a good amount of travel to them. Matte plastic body that doesn't get greasy easily unlike literally every other model. No hinge to worry about and easy (and cheap!) to repair if anything goes wrong.
The regular sized New 3DS does intrigue me due to the mid-sized screen and faceplates, but if the build quality is anything like the New 3DS XL, I will not be impressed. It's creaky and cheap and most that I have handled have hinge issues due to the hefty top screen. My current galaxy model is an exception, but the inner plastic is so cheap that the finish comes off even with careful play. You really have to baby the "New" models of the 3DS/2DS to keep them looking good unless you want to slap a skin on it.
I settled on the crystal blue original 2DS as my main model with some screen protectors on it. Stylus location is optimal and I like the top loading cartridge slot and accessible SD card door. The opaque models have issues with light bleed from the indicator lights coming through the plastic of the shell, so I went with a transparent model. Whenever I am playing something I really need 3D for like Super Mario 3D land, I just switch over to my original 3DS. It goes in my pocket easily and is built with quality so I don't have to worry about the hinge breaking in half in my hip pocket.
Get yourself the Persona Q Velvet model. Absolutely gorgeous. Breathtaking to see it in person.

I’m pretty sure the 2ds did come with a charger when you bought it new. I just got a 2ds off mercari with a game for $48 I bought the charger off there too for $6 cause the person I got the 2ds from didn’t have the charger but when you buy them brand new they come with the charger and I think the AR cards

3DS xL is better
Biggest problem about the 3DS xl is the paint. It starts to peel off if you have sweaty hands.

When the hinge of that 3DS XL wears out it’ll be flopping around like a dead fish. Meanwhile the beautiful freak that is the 2DS can not only play games like its hinged brethren, but also be used to wedge open an unruly door.
