I'm so glad they kept this in the game instead of censoring the audio clip
It's funny, because they did KINDA censor it by making sound effects happen just as he says it, and it works pretty well. It's sort of blocked off. Still makes me laugh every time, though.

If you listen closely, the volume goes down slightly when he swears. So that combined with the rubble falling when he says it was their attempt to censor it.
I think it was fine more for the comical effect. I mean alyx and even the rebels swear and it's not censored

I have a new theory that the beer Barney owed Freeman is the same can that gets knocked off by the CP. Think about it, maybe he put it there so when Freeman got there, he could have it. The two rooms are very close to each other, so it would make sense.

i like how half life dosnt over do the swearing and all that stuff. I think it makes it so much more different and unique than the games that need to spew out fuck and shit every 10 seconds.

The purpose of swearing is to accentuate what you're saying, so if used sparingly it isn't a bad thing. I think valve did pretty good on that since this is probably the only swear word in the whole game

Not the only time swearing is used, it's actually a bit frequent throughout the games, (usually just damn, hell, or shit) but this is the only instance that the f-word is used.
Not the only time. The guy who gives you supplies in Route Kanal says "oh shit!" when he notices the manhacks and Alyx says "enough of your bullshit" to Mossman in Nova Prospekt
