Yep, I agree with all of your points. There's something special about this game. I don't think it's going to win many big flashy awards, but not every game bloody needs to. It's kept me coming back to it all throughout its early access and now after release. You spend a lot of time in it ("Wait, what? What’s your channel name? Will Check out the review! I’m considering getting this on PS5. Was a Diablo fan but 4 ruined it with the terrible end game and season stuff. How’s the weapons, armors and abilities?
@ItalianSpartacus how does this work jumping from a private solo character into a multiplayer session with friends? will the progression carry in some way or will it be square one again?
It depends on the server setting. If the server setting of the private server is set to multiple players allowed but you have played solo so far and feel like inviting friends for coop play, then the progress of your character can carry over in the sense that you can craft gear for them but they will still need to do the V-Bloods to unlock the ability to craft themselves. But you cannot use an existing character on 1 sever and go to the next server. This is naturally because of PvP exploitability purposes as well. You don't want some random endgame character to be able to jump into an existing or newly crated multiplayer session fully decked out in endgame gear and nuking newbies right?
Excellent video! I played the hell out of Valheim and this game has sucked me in in a very similar way. I love the progression system and it's a lot of fun thinking about what boss I need to kill next in order to become more powerful. Don't know if I'll try the PvP as that's never really been my thing. But I'm 20 hours in and the PvE so far has been fantastic
Pvp is soo good bro. Definitely try it out but learn the games first in pve. I’m learning the game through pvp just no base raid (cause I’m new as well) but I’m having a blast
There are so many things i love about this game, but the best is the boss fights. Actually have alot of mechanics to dodge and get around. Other games bosses have like 2 abilities these bosses have quite a few, and that is what drew me in. And the building...OMG i suck at building, but this game makes building so easy that even my castle is coming along nicely, and i can build with ease. I have been in a slump for games, and this game has definitely filled the hole. There's just so much to do, lol. I start something, and then the next thing I know, i am 5 hours in, and like, holy cow, i gotta get off and go to bed, lol
@italianspartacus I just played 8 hours yesterday after buying it. It sooooo good. 100% recommend it too so far. The only reason I put it down is because it was past midnight and I was falling asleep with the controller in my hand, or I'd have played longer. Lol.
One thing I dont think you mentioned is how during the day since you are a vampire you have to stick to the shadows or you will burn up. Also have to be careful during boss fights if it changes from night to day , it adds another layer of challenge
I believe you sold me sir. I'm working on Dave the diver right now but as soon as I get to a solid stopping point I'm going to grab this and give it a go. You got me at the end with the Castlevania references, my favorite series of all time still remember when 2 came out.
Loving this game but MAN I am not good with MNK and the controller camera in combat is giving me fits. This game may the one where I tough out keyboard. I find it hysterical that I can type really, really fast but, as soon as I take my fingers off the "home keys" I forget where everything is...lol.
Hmmm I wish I had an easy solution for you man. I remember switching from the arrow keys to WASD around the early 00s. It felt so alien but now I can't imagine doing it any other way!
I just downloaded it yesterday and am loving it so far! Looks like the crafting system is really good and deep. Hopefully in the future, the devs can add a random-gen map feature, but it's not a deal-breaker if they don't.
I've put over 3000 hours into the trilogy and I've sucked all of the fun out of them. Making content at this point would not be genuine as I'd be faking it due to my exhaustion. I have to come back to the game naturally or else I'd just be making videos to make them. If they do another elf DLC, I know that'll hype me up, but right now, I need to take a good break. I have a plan to release some total war adjacent content though :) it'll be history n Lore related using total war games
I played the early access for about 60-70 hours and loved it, but got busy playing other games, I believe this was around the time of the pandemic lockdown. Recently I was getting the urge to return, then when I heard the 1.0 launch had just happened I was more motivated to start up again, then once I saw the Castlevania pack I was sold, and I’ve been playing nonstop for like a week
amazing in depth look into the game, can't wait to play it in a couple days. to me it reminds me of a more redefined Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen, what that came could of been in today's gaming market, one of my all time favorite games.
After debating whether to buy this game, your review convinced me. This is my very 1st survival game, and im enjoying it. I love building the castles even tho im terrible at it. 😅 the time does absolutely melt away. Im off looking for my next plot for a new castle😂 thanks
I think that the game is really good, I like direction some survival games are going with melding them other genres. My only disappointment with V Rising is the wonky controls on controller. I'm not too sure how the PS5 crowd is gonna feel about it. Once you get used to it, it's fine, but if you jump from game to game, I find it a nuisance to get used to the controls again.
Personnally I put V Rising on the same rating as I put Valheim. Valheim offers a lot of replayability due to having a procedural generative map and the overall gameplay is pretty nice. However it lacks a tons of quality of life for better or worse. V Rising offers less replayability because it is a fixed map however you have a good number of skill, weapons and way to approach the game that you can always find some way to replay the game and the world is full of life. But as a vampire survival game, I think this game is very good.
I've been playing for a while. While the story is still fairly bare bones, I do find myself playing longer than I expected every time I boot it up. The castle building is great, coming from someone who just builds a functional pyramid in Conan. They updated it to show that you already know a specific recipe? Fantastic! That bothered me for a good long while. Wasted so many copper coins trying to unlock different armor/weapons just to find out I already had it. Now, if only they could make the bloodrose potion one of the first things that unlocks... Literally had to wait for RNG to unlock it and it was the next to last thing to unlock in t1 production.
Would you suggest pvp for a casual group? I want the added tension of pvp and to see how our castle fairs in a raid. Im just concerned we'd get dumpstered by people abusing mechanics/glitches who have much more knowledge of the game.
If you want to play PvP - no. PvP is all about whoever grinds/gets to end soonest. Gear = win. Imagine if in Rust you'd get an AK and nothing below AK can kill you now regardless of how skilled the opponent is with the gun below the AK. yea. that's V rising's PvP in a nutshell
@@algorithmgeneratedanimegir1286 This is only partially true, there is insane difference between someone at 90gs and 84gs. @@demonfandango Are u running dual or more screens by chance? And is it installed on ssd? I think ur problem has nothign to do with graphics .Also check ur Cpu usage/temp just in case . gl
Been playing since EA came out and I come back every year and put in like 100-200hours for like a month straight and everytime it's amazing. It stratches my Survival game itch everytime and I've gotten soo much value out of this and I can't recommend it enough!
Love this game! Just launched a review of V Rising myself! Keep up the great content!
No :( they exist on there own unfortunately
It's a fuckin blast either way :)
Is it live service like other games with subscriptions for more quality of life and stuff like that?
Nope! You buy it! It's a complete game. I'm not sure what their road map looks like
There are so many things i love about this game, but the best is the boss fights.
Just bought it. You sold me. I was trying to decide between several $40 games in my wishlist. Damn solid review.
It's still one of my favorite games. I have 250 hours in it now
@italianspartacus I just played 8 hours yesterday after buying it. It sooooo good. 100% recommend it too so far. The only reason I put it down is because it was past midnight and I was falling asleep with the controller in my hand, or I'd have played longer. Lol.
Gotta say, your shitty jokes were on point in this one!
I’m waiting for PS5 launch and am beyond excited for V Rising.
It's taking forever to launch!!
One thing I dont think you mentioned is how during the day since you are a vampire you have to stick to the shadows or you will burn up. Also have to be careful during boss fights if it changes from night to day , it adds another layer of challenge
I mean, the game is really good, but if this is the best the survival genre has to offer, that's gotta be a giant pile of shit of a genre then.
That's a harsh stance. It's a different game like others in the genre, it's also still a relatively new one
Is this something me and my girl can play coop together? This looks amazing
I don't know about on the same Playstation but for sure you can if you have separate machines!
It felt so alien but now I can't imagine doing it any other way!
i wish this game had a toggle cam so it worked like 3p shooter because carpo
There's a mod for that actually! Allows first person as well!
Can't help to think this could be Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen
Fucking j wish man. Ugh
@@italianspartacus "surrender, fiend, and we will promise you an easy death... Kain: I could promise you the same, but it would be a lie"
I just downloaded it yesterday and am loving it so far! Looks like the crafting system is really good and deep. Hopefully in the future, the devs can add a random-gen map feature, but it's not a deal-breaker if they don't.
OHHH that'd be sick
Can PS5 players play with PC players online?
Unfortunately not :(
Great review! I' enjoy the game alot too! But when will you come back to Total War Warhammer? We miss you!
No time soon brother :(
@@italianspartacuswhy? I enjoyed your videos there too…
I've put over 3000 hours into the trilogy and I've sucked all of the fun out of them.
@@italianspartacus that is totally fair and reasonable. I fully understand, thanks for clarifying.
Just found out about this game yesterday. I wish I would have played it before . It’s very good
Its my GOTY.
Will this game get more content/dlc over time?
No roadmap yet but I'm hoping so!
...hate grinding, nope !
GG for review !
HAHAHAHA same dude
@@italianspartacus the time flies by man, I’ll say “30 more minutes” then it’s 4 am
My recommendation don't look at guides you'll learn what works and what doesnt.
Agreed!
amazing in depth look into the game, can't wait to play it in a couple days. to me it reminds me of a more redefined Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen, what that came could of been in today's gaming market, one of my all time favorite games.
This game looks great but I can't bring myself to buying it
Would you suggest pvp for a casual group? I want the added tension of pvp and to see how our castle fairs in a raid. Im just concerned we'd get dumpstered by people abusing mechanics/glitches who have much more knowledge of the game.
i watched 3 reviews and somehow u sold me in the 1st couple minutes
One of the few games I really love playing and my wife hates because of that 😅
Why not get her hooked on it as well haha
HAHAHAH
Tempted to get this, looks greatand fun to play. Like how you can build your own vampire castle!
Was looking forward to buy it on PS5 but playing with a controller seems to be very bad.
came here expecting diablo, got minecraft instead. it's a pass from me
how good is the coop in this game?
Fucking amazing. The game scales with the amount of vampires on the screen so it gets HECTIC
@@italianspartacus Sounds cool. Been playing 7days2die, so I'm eyeing this game.
I will never get tired of jokes about gary old man's ass shaped dracula hair
I like how you feel OP. But aint quite.
Bought the game in advance after this vid
Hell yeah!!!
Love it but the resets are made bareble due to setting you can use to make it easier
How to play if I m solo and i m not smart so I will not be griefed and destroyed?
If you want to play PvP - no.
PvP is all about whoever grinds/gets to end soonest. Gear = win.
Imagine if in Rust you'd get an AK and nothing below AK can kill you now regardless of how skilled the opponent is with the gun below the AK. yea. that's V rising's PvP in a nutshell
This is just not true. If you are skilled you can fight people at a higher tier.
@@algorithmgeneratedanimegir1286
This is only partially true, there is insane difference between someone at 90gs and 84gs.
At the same time there is little difference between someone at 20gs and 30gs. Similar to further levels when you're in iron wep stage, like lvl 40 vs lvl 50 is still balanced.
Once you get to the end there are these things to consider suddenly:
Passives/legendary weps with bonus abilities/tier4 spell jewels/ full dracula armor and its set bonuses.
You are suddenly expected to enter mortium zone with 4 different thing disadvantage lmao. And guaranteed unless you like I said nolife grinded, will be behind and be often ganked by the lvl 90's soulshard holders patrolling the area.
I realy wish they did crafting from Containers..
Excellent review! Thanks Spartacus.
My pleasure bro!
thanks
You're welcome!
I literally love this game i barely got the legion go handheld and I play this game all day
I love the game, apart from Adam the 1st born lol
My game of the year.
7 days in a row, cant stop playing this, simply a good game
Just picked it up and I am loving it, only have 30 mins in it
It’s Diablo with base building.
This game is so fun!
Can i progress using weapons that are dropped or do i need to heavily invest in crafting? Seems like it can get complicated
This kind of game always encourage creativity, so yes. You will need to craft things.
It’s one of the games of all time!
Do our stuff carry between server (pvp, pve) ?
This games amazing if u've got time. Lost all my stuff from being gone a while and heart going to decay 😂 gonna try again soonish
Come. Join our server!!
@@italianspartacus lmao i dod last wek thats where it happened! 🤣🤣
HAHAHA NOOOO!!
Wait so if you don’t log in for long enough you lose your stuff? How long does it take? Is it from getting raided when offline or some mechanic like that? I have like 1-2 days a month to play games max
@@shadeitplease7383 you can play solo or w/ friends and be fine. Pretty sure some servers have the "decay" off. It has a decay system for you "castle heart" that makes u vunerable for pvp. Pretty u can turn it off but not positive
Awesome review
Thank you dude!
The video helped! Thanks, I'm buying it
How does he have white wolf?? Is that dlc?
ive seen it recommanded to me and im about to try cuz it looks so great. and now after seeing u talk about it im stoked to try it out
Fuck yeah dude!
101% YES on Brutal PVE!
So you have to pvp?
Looks fun
It's a great time!
One of these days, i would like to see you do a video series on Star Citizen
Not worth it
@@coffeeconfirmed3609 why do you say that?
so this or Diablo 4 ?
This!
Great review

So basically Diablo 4 but better and finished
Is there an easy mode?
Yes :)
For some reason I don't like it. It's kinda boring to me.
My best friend is the same way. No harm there brother!
Wonderful review! Thanks. Now, I am certain that I will only buy that game when I am paid up-front and at least € 200 per hour in addition.
