One aspect that really bears highlighting is how customizable the game is. Don’t like how fast equipment degrades? There’s a server setting you can change. Don’t like how fast blood drains? Server setting. Like fighting against general enemies, but dislike how boss fights drag on? Specifically adjust boss health and damage in a server setting. Because it’s not a live service game, you’re not reliant on a single central server to dictate how you are allowed to have fun with the game. I wish more games were like V Rising in this regard.
So true, it is such a breath of fresh air after my other favorite game, tarkov, where you stuck with some stupid bullshit that could be fixed in a minute with one server variable. Here you can either find a server to your liking or create your own for yourself or you and your buddies. What a game!
Is it just me or does this game feel weirdly off the radar? Maybe I'm just not seeing any of the videos or people playing (which is possible). Or did the devs not really market it much? Anyway, I'm glad to have found it on my steam recommendations! Nice video!
I love your reviews Mukluk. I'm glad you branched to more content other than GW2. I wish I had the attention span to play 10k hours of guild wars, but I don't even have the patience to unlock the flying mounts. But new games to enjoy with unbiased reviews? I'm all ears!
I have to agree that crafting really does need to pull from chests. I’m the type of player who just has to loot and horde everything i get my sticky mitts on. Would rather not be hopping from chest to chest to grab resources to craft with and put em all back
I agree that my only real issue with the game was also not being able to pull from Storage, but it wasn't really a big deal. After you start to get familiar with some of the materials you can leave stacks of it in the Crafting station instead of constantly getting it from Storage. You can even put things in the Output section as Storage too, if you've got the space.
Good luck with the gamepad controls that are awful. I like the game but they really need to let us configure the keys as we want. You have 2 configs and both have really bad decisions in their mapping.
For those interested in buying this, Steam Summer Sale 2024 will begin on 6/27/2024, Thank you Mukluk for the V rising review! I will absolutely get this game.
"you do not level up in this game" technically you kinda do it's called Gear Level for a reason when upgrade or equipped new armor, accessories or weapons your Gear Level will get higher.
The game is awesome in a lot of ways, but it has WAY too long and too difficult boss fights for casuals. There are two skill setups for boss fights - if you don't like any of them tough luck. Community around the game is filled with blowhard elitists and trolls, both of those groups do all they can to alienate and disrespect newbies or unskilled players. The game released to 135K concurrent players on steam and after 2 months out the numbers are down to 15K concurrent players, based on respective achievements - barely any players actually play through the whole game at any difficulty. That said you can play the game with next to no farming literally till the very late game. The open world looks great, castle building is robust and there are many decoration items to make your build stand out. I have 350 hours in the game, but I'm taking a break from it since it burned me out...again.
Difficult to explain how the games systems work without examples, so I specifically showed the first couple of minutes, and the first boss without going into details on the others. For late game footage we only used what was in the public trailers.
Not really a story-based game so technically if there is no plot then there are no spoilers to be made. Edit: also the premium skin packages for the game contain skins for some of the forms including wolf :)
@@olaf5929 spoilers isn't just a story thing. For every person it's different. It could be not wanting to know what the bosses are. Why your team members will be or what characters has been added to a fighting game that you have to unlock somehow. If you told me right now what all the spells in this game is I would instantly lose interest. The fun is finding them

great way to format the video
everything is labeled, and also concise! Cheers
This is one of the best video game reviews I've ever seen, well done!

BLESS THIS SHOT...and you for this video, sums up the game perfectly!
LIGHT! GUIDE MY ARROWS!!
Piqued my interest with the streams, definitely want to try it now. Will keep an eye out during the summer sale.
Another excellent spoiler-free review! 👍
Thanks for your commentary!
I was looking for a reason not to buy it. But the Terraria comparison really sold it dammit. Good video
I guess you can say this is the real Vampire Survivor game
i am buying this for my steam deck. hoping it goes on sale today

Figures... I bought it 2 days ago...
@@ianashmore9910 It's not on sale so you are good.
@@ianashmore9910 Don't feel too bad; the game has enough content to justify the full price.
i love the souls games so when i first tried this game i jumped into brutal mode and my oh my, the game is fantastic and quite hard to master
I think i prefer it on controller, but I'm struggling with ranged targeting.
A bunch of skills suck or are simply unusable in boss fights on the controller due to delay in targeting.
4 playthroughs! I thought my 1 playthrough and 60 plus hours was an epic commitment!
3 free days right now and its on 25% off.
Looking for players on PS5 to link up and help with Adam/Dracula. Let me know. Love this game.
add me bro !

Castlevania was a pretty big spoiler. Cool boss though.
It's front and center on their steam page and all of their commercials so I figured that one was safe to talk about.
How is for solo gameplay?
As mentioned in the video, I think it's great. I've done multiple playthroughs of the game solo, and one co-op and enjoyed both.

First
"no spoilers" - proceeds to tell us first boss give your wolf form... thx
Sure...major spoiler there
