I have just been fitted for a new putter and tried them all blind with regards to price. The one that came out on top was a Cleveland at £129 followed by a Taylormade at £379.

When it comes to which putter goes in my bag, I decide based on the course I’m playing. If the greens are flat, slightly sloped, or fast and easy. I tend to go with the Cleveland Huntington Beach blade butter. If the greens are sloped, bumpy, aerated or slow, I tend to go with my Odyssey, white hot two ball putter. Never owned a Scotty Cameron, but I have tried them out and demoed them a few rounds with the pings. I tend to like Cleveland and odyssey over them as they are priced well.

I'm about to own both of those putters coincidently, interesting to know your thoughts. My odyssey at the mo seems to be coming off too hot now our greens have got faster in the summer and I'm struggling with pace control thats why I have bought this cleveland one. Was going to get rid of my odyssey but might hold onto it for autumn/winter

I recently just traded in that exact same Odyssey for the Cleveland. I didn’t have any confidence with the Odyssey and I always seem to pull my putts to the left. For me this Cleveland has been better in every single way. I find it to be more forgiving on miss hits and way easier to line up putts.

@psquared518 having used it for a couple of weeks now I much prefer the cleveland. I feel lots more confident on 8 feet and in putts too

I must admit to being a fan of Cleveland since seeing the HB turbo irons. How many times has it being proved here on RUclips that it's the person who swings the club that's the major part of the equation not the price. If you've got the money, buy what you like and have pride of ownership.

If I could like your comment more than once Malc I would!
I’ve seen some of the best players play with all sorts from mega expensive to mega cheap & same for poor players!
One thing golf is full of, is opinions.. and quite frankly, not enough of them are along the lines of “play what makes you happy and the way that makes you happy”
Scott & I don’t always agree when we’re making reviews.. and that just highlights the point that what you may like just isn’t for everyone!

I have the Huntington Beach S.O.F.T No4. I love it and don't want anything else. It has a blue sticky pistol grip and it just feel natural in my hands. I hold it like as if it were a bird chic, very light grip, and with a very slow deliberate backstroke loading it with energy, and then release it and follow through with your shoulders without adding force.

I putt LH and RH... am LH, but swing RH (like many lefties w/ "hand me down" clubs, or who'd simply swing anything around, as kids). Been gaming LH O-Works #7 on loan. A nice putter, too many close misses to stick with. Don't love inserts, don't like offset LH, and prefer to keep all things on same side of ball (RH). Demo'd RH HB Soft 11 against other HB's (3, 4, 8) and many other putters today, just kept going back. Traditionally, prefer mid-mallet/ B-shaped w/ mild offset (B60, Rossie)... today, wings give me similar weight w/ even better face control, alignment, forgiveness. So to finish, said if I hit 3/3 6-10' feet and different directions... "it's mine." The 3rd dropped on it's last revolution, so I took a Premier 11 for $149. IDK if I'm more excited about putting... or what feels like stolen $ in my pocket. Nice review, gents... some good Brit humor in the mix. Cheers!

I bought the Cleveland putter this year. I like it very much. It replaced my Callaway 2 ball putter, which I used for a very long time.

I, as others have said, also owned both of these putters and can definitely say that the Huntington Beach feels like a better putter.I would never buy another Scotty, just too overpriced. I had sold my old HB and regretted replacing it with a PXG 0311, I have since bought another HB Soft, this ones staying!

Saying you could swap names on the putters and nobody would be able to tell is kind of BS. I own both putters (and love both) but the build quality and materials of the Scotty Caneron is objectively more premium than the Cleveland. That doesn't mean the Cleveland is a worse putter, the best putter is the one that feels best and holes more putts for you.

    • @otherone1234
      @otherone1234 Год назад

YES, IT DOES MEAN THAT CLEVELAND IS A WORSE PUTTER THAN SC FOR SURE. I've tried every putter out there and nothing compares to SC. The quality, detail, the weighting, the feel of SC are second to none. Expensive but worth every penny. What good does it do if you buy a cheapo putter and then couple months later you want something else and so forth, in 2-3 years you would have spent way more that if you bought a Sc. So go get fitted/try all SC's and buy the one you like and take real good care of it. you'll have it for life. Plus if you ever decide you want to sell it, you'll probably get more than 1/2 the value even after 10 year. Given the quality i am surprised SC putters are that cheap. Nothing comes close to them, Nothing.

Putting performance is the easiest to show in comparison to any other style club...
they literally make machines that putt on greens to test them... Putting will always have the least variation in data because it doesn't leave the ground and you can easily make a weight to strike the ball at the same force.

Looking at buying the #3 HB soft. Now it's $149 US and I get a 25% off discount ( I'm a club builder in the industry).
Love the feel of the 345 gram head. The quality and Sink Fit putter grip are excellent.
Feels like a heavier, sharper version of my OG Ping Zing (1971). It's cast, yes, but has that nice milled face.
Seems much more premium than the price suggests.
    Well done Cleveland.

Its the same reason why Rolex watches cost more than Casio yet they both tell the time, some like the engineering that goes into making the putter using premium materials, a good investment Scotty's hold their price well too
