You guys should take the best putters from every year and do a best of the best test. Best blades from 2000, 2001, etc all the way to 2023. Only the best of the best to see if the newer one always or ever comes out on top
Why are there a bunch of wide blades but the scotty special select squareback 2 is not even on the test? Best putter I have ever used by a mile! All the feel of the Newports with better forgiveness. It is also beautiful!
Because these guys ranked scotty blades as like 34/34 or something like that (dead bottom of a long list) in the blade test from a few years back. That's enough to get you blacklisted forever from the brand. That's my theory I'm sticking to it haha
every person has own opinion,,, i tried won that putter and it was the worse scotty blade i ever tried , couldnt marriage up pace anything it just wasnt a good putter for me and to say a scotty was bad from me thats saying somethin
AWESOME!! Cleveland has done it. They're my favorite golf company of all time and I have several sets of irons and woods to prove it. Now I'll give a serious look at the winning putter to compliment the rest of my clubs. Congrats Cleveland.
The 8802 model is such an odd ball these days and probably very foreign to many of these golfers. And the fact that it performed so bad but then top 5 in 20ft is a true statistical anomaly.
I have played a lot of 8802 style putters, Wilson, Sub 70, Snake Eyes and their strength IMO is lag putting. But I agree, I'm sure testers put the 8802 down and thought they were put in a Time Machine. 😁
I picked up the Cleveland HB Soft Milled 4. I could not find the 1 model in lefty for a good price but I don't see much difference visually and it performs and feels better than my Odyssey Stroke Lab blade.
I have an OG Ping Zing (1971) in the bag. I am buying the Cleveland HB soft #3 based on this great review on this milled #1. 345 gram weight head. Cast club, milled face. Pistol grip. $149 US. I get a 25% discount. I'm in the industry as a club builder. Great job Cleveland. Excellent quality and value for the price.
How are the scores calculated? If based on 8 putts per person at each of the 3 locations, wouldn't a lower score be best? Curious of your scoring system. Good work!
I currently just switched to the Mizuno Mcraft OMOI #2. I have had several SC’s and this Mizzy is a fantastic putter and in my opinion only it edges out my SC’s Did the Mizzy not make the options of all your putters tested????
Hey Nick - I'm glad you're loving what's in your bag. As far as Mizuno goes - we have tested all of their latest models to date in our 2022 testing. 2023 was to highlight all the newest models that had not yet been through our protocols. Does that help?
This perfectly demonstrates the need to go see a pro and get fit. I tried 6 different blades (all on this list) and the Ping Anser 2D was so obviously better than the rest it was the easiest decision ever; and that’s the “second worst” putter on this list lol!
Kind of a misleading video tbh. I love MGS content but "better" from 5, 10, and 20 feet seems more about the golfer than the club? Fit a putter to your stroke and work on distances rather than pick a putter because its "better" from 10 feet....? odd
Tried literally everything. Tri-Hot 5k Three was by far the best feeling and resulting for me. I don't even see it listed here. Goes to show putters are very subjective I guess.
The new Cleveland putters are very under rated as are the Wilsons. They are fine like classic Oldsmobile and Classic Cadillac. But sometimes you want to experience a Maserati or Ferrari. (Hint Scotty Cameron and Bettinardi 👍🏾)
just ordered a black taylormade tp del monte putter. excited. had a ping keppler hetsch mallet and it just swings on too much of an arc for me. thinking ill have a simpler stroke with the blade. anyone have the del monte?
I always thought that a Wilson 8802 style putter was called a blade putter. Then you have the Anser style putters. And then you have the mallet style putters. Can’t imagine that a Scotty Cameron Newport is in the same category as a 8802 style is🤔🤔
@@graemetaylor4149 my only guess is since virtually no one other than Ben Crenshaw uses the old real blade putters they have just gone ahead and labeled the Anser style as a blade now. I will always refer to the 8802 as a blade I don’t care what they say😐😐 still think they were the very best putters in their day I used to use them all the time and still have a few but as I’ve gotten older you better have a damn good stroke for those nowadays 😁😁
@@Tom-ok2rh I agree with you. I have a few variants on the 8802 and also some Ironmaster's. What I also find amusing is how similar a lot of these Anser style putters are to the original Dalehead Ansers - not a lot new in golf apart from the prices! Sadly no amount of technology can make me hole out from 3'!🤣
@@graemetaylor4149 you have a point on the prices..who would have guessed they would be getting $400-500 for putters nowadays..I can remember getting my very first Acushnet Bullseye Flange back in the day for $15 brand new and had a nice blue leather grip. I have a couple of 8802s and recently had a Wilson designed by Arnold Palmer putter I’ve had for almost 50 years refinished and it looks beautiful. Tempted to use it but I’m afraid of the results ☹️☹️
considering how many pros use the Ping Anser, I can't believe it finished 2nd and 3rd last. I guess these players should switch it out and win more often.
I only saw one blade putter in the whole video, the Wilson 8802 flanged blade, all the rest were Anser styles. And some of those I'd go as far as to call them Anser mallets!
The overall rating for the Evnroll putters looks kinda funky ... 23rd from 5 ft, 2nd from 10 ft, and 22nd from 20 ft ... yet rank 7th overall? Seems high. At the other end of the spectrum is the LA Golf Bel-Air ... ranked 7th from 5 ft, 11th from 10 ft, and 27th from 20 ft ... with overall rank of 21st?

@@zachinutah447 I may be wrong but I work at a golf store and I’m pretty sure the Ping putters that were included in this test were also out late last year. Either way, Cleveland is underrated
Hey guys we did some kind of tests on some putters we somehow chose with some people we somehow got. Here are some lists we somehow came up with after. Science.
Some nice putters, but not a blade amongst them. If so then the big bertha and ping eye irons must be blade irons. Wilson 8802 and Odyssey White Hot XG Blade PM are some of very few blade putter period
Great video MyGolfSpy. Please keep them coming. I am putting the Cleveland hb soft with the fancy shaft in the bag asap for sure. What length shaft were testers using? I noticed there is an hb soft milled 1 and an hb soft milled 4. What is the difference? DSG by me has the hb soft 4 with a 35 inch steel shaft. I tried it out on their shoddy putting area which needs to be vacuumed. Nonetheless the putter shined. Feel, feedback and distance control all awesome. A putter brand I would have never even thought to try if not for your video. Should I get the hb soft 1 or hb soft 4? What shaft length should I go with? I am 5’10”. My current putter, which I was fitted for a few years back, is 33 1/4”.
So the Cleveland putter is the best putter top 5 every category I can attest to this , I used every putter in golf town and the only putts that consistently went in were with the Cleveland.. which was 129-169 in price , compared to the over priced high end brands , even shot it better than the Scotty Cameron , Cleveland just isn’t “Top” brand appeal to many players like titleist or Taylor made
Interesting how "blade" putters today are similar to the original perimeter-weighted putter (Ping ANSER). For my money, the best "blade" putter is the Axis1 Tour. I put one in my bag about 9 months ago and it won't come out. I stopped watching when the "best" putter from 5 feet is a Scotty.
Dude is mad bias against LAB, specifically Link.1. Zero controls on this test presented. I have my own bias as well but this is all over the place. Great production though.
I wonder why evnroll doesn't do as well as it used to. Have other pet companies caught up? Or are there other variables such as weight, balance point, toe hang, grip size etc... come into play? Or do these tests even matter?
