I really hope this channel blows up, I’ve never drummed a day in my life but I still watch these videos for the simple and educational knowledge on drumming u make so easy to digest. Thank you!
Agreed, she's got such a great knack for fun and easily digestible lessons. Great personality as well, makes me wish I had a drum set so I can start learning
I’m coming back to drums after couple years of break. I only played for little over a year but wanna try again. Your content is super helpful! Thank you
Stick holding, absolutely essential to progressing with the instrument.
Very clear and easy instructions. Thanks!
Thank you😊 ❤
i like how this really start right at the start, also i love your hair
Kinda off- topic, but I’ve been watching your vids and I find them really helpful, but here you did a really cool transition and your new hair style looks nicely
All this time I thought you hold the drumstick by the skinny end and gnaw away at the meat on the big end till it's all gone .... As for hair , I say "Hair today , gone tomorrow" .....On a serious note, thanks for all your effort making these videos .... They are very good .....Have a wonderful new year and we'll keep in touch .....
With my younger students, we have a saying: “LEADERS!” (Thumb & Forefinger), and “HELPERS!” (Middle, Ring, Pinkie). Little memorable sayings like that help a lot.
Nice explanation
Perfect technique 👌
I luv your Videos, and I don't even drum. Your facial expressions are the iciung on the cake. You're a Disney character IRL. Just pause at 0:49 ... 😂
I do traditional 😅 looks cool
It's also good for jazz.
Let's hear some blast beats!
Have you tried any Nigeria grove
This is something I never got right and it caused me all kinds of temporary damage
I'm interested in one thing as a beginner, I hold the bats just like this, on the bottom third, and when I practice, the bat happens to slip in my hand, and when I grip it a little firmly, my palm starts to cramp... is there an explanation? ?
I have the same issue, I'm starting to learn there is a super fine line on how hard/soft to grip, I also find if I push the stick into the crease on my finger (the joint) it can rotate and bounce but not slide as much. That and trying your best to keep your stick bouncing on the fulcrum where it teeter totters back and forth but doesn't bounce and slide everywhere. It's a lot of moving parts and I'm fairly certain it's just a lot of practice to get it right.
"leviosa"
It’s “leviOHsuh”
I still can't get my damn left hand to cooperate
I've had the same problem. It takes a lot of practice. It took me a year until I was comfortable. I used to get frustrated. And now its 2nd nature.
I used to have that same problem, it took me a year to train my left hand. I used my sticks the old fashioned way too
I know how to do this
Before I saw this video in my recommendations, I was completely sure I was right
But as soon as I clicked on the video:
“WHAT IF IVE BEEN DOING IT WRONG THE WHOLE TIME????”
Is it okay if the butt of the stick hits the fleshy part of the palm?
No, It'll kill your rebound. Rotate your hand a bit more and don't be afraid to move the stick away from your hand a bit with your fingers. Drumming is more with the fingers than with the hand. The stick should be parallel to your palm.
Plus, your hand will cramp up.
Nice hair.
This is no knock on you, I see it a lot when watching tutorials as a new drummer as I'm sure for experienced drummers it's so natural they don't think about it anymore but... You show the thumb on top but when you start playing you rotate your hand where your thumb is on the side. Won't the thumb on top impair the rebound? I get better rebound with my thumb loosely holding on the side like I did when you played.
In Nigeria they different am really cool vibe in church drummers like Hassan Marcus check him
