I'm currently 8 weeks into this program and thoroughly recommend it.
How did you find running that marathon with him? Hoping to do this programme in the next year. :)

Before I make an ass of myself, could you explain the numbers in your results. They seem low for someone who hasn’t trained or ran a marathon. Do those times include stops and walking? I’m trying to train for a 5k next month and I’m a slow ass runner averaging a 12:30 mile. At the moment I’m focusing on distance and endurance not speed someone recommended it.
❤❤❤
"He's been running a lot recently" ?????? ZERO Training
😂Fergus not trying to kill nobody bro.
My exact thought, and he also does CrossFit. He’s never ran a marathon but he’s also not fresh off a extended stay on the couch
I just completed a 1/2 marathon yesterday, with 10 weeks of training, and I still cannot fathom running a marathon. Sam is a legend 👏🏻🏃♂️
Was in the same boat for a while, but eventually you'll break through the barrier if you try! Keep up the work and the goals will come.
I have mine in 2 weeks, done one 6 mile training run and got injured again, plantar fasciitis ruins everything. I’m just going to run it on the day and hope I can break 2:30 😢
@@YoYoZamolo I do have to say that my experience is limited to ultra hiking but my plantar fascitis went away without doing anything when I started using orthopedic insoles
Did a 100km in 19:30h without problems of fascitis while half a year before I could not do 40-50km without it starting
Definitely a game changer for me
My half is this coming Sunday!
@@gowanlock good luck!!
Well done Sam. You are my hero!
"If you pass out, I will catch you. So there's no real risk" - Well done Sam. You are my hero!
Fergus I’ve always been a gym + MMA guy and cyclist but watching you and others like goggins has inspired me to start running and complete a triathlon this year. Just want to say ur channel has been by far my most beneficial source of knowledge and motivation to achieve those goals and keep smashing it brother 💪🏼
Huge admiration for that dedication and effort. This was interesting and encouraging and entertaining to me. I’m going to undergo a long run with minimal training and it’s good to see what the pain looks like!
Apart from the great content (your humour and humble profile are a great combo), I just want to take a moment and comment about the incredible video editing; the music, the cuts, the drone/gopro switches. It keeps getting better and better!
Sam and Fergus, you are both heroes! a super interesting view of trained individuals' experience of distance running. Id love to have running as a hobby, you guys inspire me.
Amazing!!! Love it! Inspiring, motivating! A great push, great job and great content!
Impressive effort Sam! I’m still training to be able to run a half marathon. Everyone is on their journey and has their struggles but the grit you showed will serve you well
That was such an incentive of how to push forward. Thank you for sharing what an amazing job
Another high quality video mate, keep it up!!
Well done Sam! You're my hero!!! I'm training for my first marathon this fall and can't imagine doing what you just did...thank you for showing us what mental strength looks like.
Omg well done!! I hope the post run recovery was good and your legs are back to normal. Those stairs at the end looked hideous! You legend!
i will never forget my first marathon, humbled very quickly, the hurt, the negative thoughts, the timed goal thrown out the window, the last push to just cross the finish line and then the days following...
Amazing job Sam! I was running along the same beach that day and saw you guys, apologies if I shouted “Love the RUclips channel!” too loud 😂 regardless you both have given me so much motivation for me running my first marathon in a month’s time!
Well done, Sam! Insane effort and guts to do this.
I know this video is 5 months old but it just appeared on my list of videos so here it goes... Well done Sam. You are my hero! great video and welcome to the marathon world, hopefully you'll do more in the future, it's addictive.
Amazing job Sam! Way to see it through!
Unreal effort and tremendous fight. Great work!
Very fun to watch. Nice work Sam!
That was awesome! Great job!
Stunning work Sam....loved the video.....having run several ultra marathons in my 40s I feel your pain 👏👏👏👏
What a combo! I love Sam's quirky content, and I love the seriousness of your content. What a pair of top lads
Well done Sam, you're my hero. Good on you Fergus for sticking with your brother and pushing him through. You guys have inspired me to try and do my first marathon. I'll be running from the Adelaide CBD to McLaren Flat 44Kms
another adelaide fella here! did you end up doing the mara?
That was absolutely amazing....... I've been training for half and my best time so far is 2hr 53min. I am in awe of your half and full times.
I have crawled up the stairs many times after a long run.....lol..... I had many giggles during this video.
On a side note being from Leith in Edinburgh and now living in NZ, it was so lovely seeing all those places again.
You did great Sam! I can't wait to do my first marathon... With training😊
You showed true grit Sam!!hope it goes as well for myself at the Leeds marathon this may
Well done Sam! You are my hero 👏🏻🤩. Amazing effort and love the informative content Fergus!
Love this! I live in East Lothian ❤️. I’m doing my first ever Half Marathon this month after years of only doing strength training and hating cardio 🙈. So inspiring 🙌🏻
Well done Sam! Heroic effort
Running my first marathon on Sunday, looking forward to that mental battle!
Well done Sam lad! Would be interested to hear how the train journey was, how the tube was at the other end and when you started feeling normal again!
Fergus I’ve always been a gym + MMA guy and cyclist but watching you and others like goggins has inspired me to start running and complete a triathlon this year. Just want to say ur channel has been by far my most beneficial source of knowledge and motivation to achieve those goals and keep smashing it brother
Well ran Sam, total respect for you. It's not easy when you've trained for it nevermind without the 100s of miles prep. Legend 👍💪
One of your best Fergus. Keep at it. Sam keep pushing the limit. Great work
Well done sam you are my hero. I've some how landed in my self in a similar situation. I'm a rugby player and I booked in a half marathon for the 11th of June however my season didn't finish till yesterday meaning I've got 4-5 weeks to train so no where near as bad 😅
well done Sam, you're my hero.
I've recently gotten back into running, I stopped for over a decade due to injures from varies motorcycle crashes (all on a closed course) and had basically given up on the idea of running. last fall I decide to try it again, at first I could only do about 1km and now I'm doing 5km and moving towards doing 10km with the plan to do a 10km race this year or next. I know a full marathon is never going to be realistic but this makes me want to work towards a half marathon
Well done Sam, amazing effort, hope you are recovering ok.
Well done Sam. You showed real mental strength pushing through there when you could have easily given up. Well done!
Wow, congratulations Sam!! Good job!! 💪💪💪
Well done Sam. You are my hero What an inspiration. Never give up 💪🏻👌🏻
I actually welled up when ya got over the finish line. Why wouldn't he succeed with a guy like you in his life. Bravo to the both of you. But especially Sam amazing chap!!
I’m running the Stockholm marathon in a months time and I don’t think I’ve ever prepared or trained this much for anything (watching this was definitely part of my prep). Seeing someone do it without any practice, and just beating my half-marathon time was inspiring A-F, you are my hero Sam!
Im going to stockholm too!
I'm going to Sthlm marathon too but I haven't followed a marathon planned, just jogged around 20k/week since november... So I'm really nervous if I can finnish, I know I can do 21 k but how bot not sure how much more
@@AT-uy9vv It's a mental game then, if you tell yourself you can, you can! Good luck!
Amazing effort from Sam. Good on you Fergus for helping him see it through 👍🏻
Just did my full marathon yesterday WITH training. Congrats to this man
Every physios nightmare haha, hopefully Sams hammy pulls up okay :)
Thats a great achievement Sam! Nice work to stick it out and finish the whole thing.
I LOVE FANTA LIMÓN.
More than you love your legs it seems…
I AM LEEMON🍋
Sam, you are extremely awesome. That was just mind-blowing. Bravo. 👏👏👏
well done sam, my cousin did the london marathon this year , so well done to her too. id love to be there one year but i still havent even attempted to run in the park yet . its on my to do list lol
Well done Sam! You are my hero!! youve inspired me to go for a run now!
Well done Sam!! Incredible effort!
Brilliant energy boys. Refreshing
that was wildly empresive and inspiring, makes me wanna go for it even more!
This was awesome ! You both are beast 🙌
Impressive! Here in Sweden we call that sort of stubbornness “att ha pannben”, digging deep and seeing it through👍👍
Great work
Well done Sam you are my hero ...Great video guys!!
I ran my first marathon in Edinburgh last year. I recognised a lot of the roads in this video, bringing back a lot of memories
Fair play to him, I want to do a marathon one day but this definitely reminds me how important training is 😂
Christ this is an inspiring watch. What an effort!
Super run Sam! Thank you for sharing your first marathon effort!
I've always had an appreciation for all endurance sports because it's not just about overcoming the effort, the pain and the desire to quit for a moment but for minutes and even hours.
So... Will you do another marathon? 😜
Way to pull through! Well done.
Really impressive to do a half under 2 hours that easily... I do a lot of running, mostly in zone 2 and I'm not sure if I could do a half under 2! Great work!
I know I can’t
I can probbaly do it but It would be very hard
Well done Sam! Killer effort!
Loved this video - well done Sam you legend a true inspiration! Please do this next with me!! I’m going to be running the London Marathon next year and have the Manchester Half booked this year in October which I am excited for and I have never run more then 10k currently😅 great video!❤
You are very courageous. 🙂
@@JeDindk thank you 😅
Well done Sam! Massive achievement.
I know the feeling very well, top effort Sam👊💯
Well done Sam, you are my hero. And also a total nutter for trying it.
Two legend’s fantastic content lads
Bloddy great effort Sam ! Well done :)
Amazing effort
Well done Sam... you are my hero.. big time!!
“well done sam you are my hero” you are extremely mental for doing that! Much respect!!!
Amazing. Well done Sam. Super hero
Great job Dam👍🏽
Epic bruv! Much love!
Holy shit, Sam, outstanding effort. Truly inspirational work
Mate where do you get your music from? That last track was sick! Also Sam is a legend - I tried this as a beginner runner and it took me 6 hours to finish... so much pain 💀
A herculean effort, well done Sam!
zone 2 training here i go, well done sam , you are my hero :)
You are my hero Sam !!
Very impressive!
Sam - what you just did is incredible. It's absolutely amazing. I have been running seriously for a couple of years. I did my first marathon last year, and I have done about 20 half marathons. My next marathon is in 12 days, and I don't think I'm going to make it. I am NOT ready for a marathon.
And you just did a marathon without any training. That is just unbelievable. I really wish I could tell you how impressed I am .... 😃
You're already defeated if you think like that you can do it is the mentality to have
@@jamesirvine9541 I get your point. It's just that yesterday I went for a 33 km run. After 24 km, I couldn't run farther. I had to walk 9 km to get home and the pain in my legs was killing me. That's bad. That's really bad. Especially, if you think you are going to run a marathon 13 days later. 😖
Last month, my longest run was 30 km, which I managed without any problems at all. So I don't know what went wrong yesterday.
I just wanted to say, that there's a very good reason why I am worried. It's more than just some silly thoughts.
When I did my first marathon last year, I keept saying to myself, that I wanted that f***ing medal. Maybe it will also work this year. 😁
@@JeDindk don't know if it'll help you but I bathe with Himalayan salts in the water it helps me
hay mate, howd the marathon go?
Curious to know if you finished!
Sam killed it! and youre such a supportive friend !
Well done Sam, you are my hero! You still completed it in a faster time than I did my first marathon which I trained for 😂
Sam you pushed it as far as you could go and then pushed it even farther, inspiring us to push it, not take the easy road
Great work from Sam. Machine!
I'm planning on doing my first 10k in the summer in Norwich would love to eventually work up to a marathon.
This is the correct approach 👊🏼 hope your training goes well!
Make sure you train for it even a 10 k with no training is stupidity
good luck! I'm doing my first ever race, a 10k, in about a month and I'm both excited and nervous, haha. but slowly increasing volume over past month has shoved amazing progress, you'd be surprised how much you can improve in the beginning. it will probably slow down, but it's still a great feeling. and yeah, don't make my mistake and don't push too hard. like, if in the last week you've done 5k, don't go for a 10k, even if you feel it in you. trust me, your body WON'T be thankful for that, haha. I've done that while running with a friend, felt good, wanted to impress him and then has to take a few trainings off because of the soreness and pain. gradual increase is the key
Well done Sam, you are my hero! Mental toughness in abundance
Cracking effort
Well done Sam. Congrats
Only as you approach the marathon distance for the first time does the true scale of it set in, exponentially harder towards the end. It humbles you and then you design ways to tackle it better next time.
Great video, you make a great team, bring Sam back soon
Cracking effort, very impressive. Can't beat putting the training miles in to make it less painful though
Can you add a link to the hydration vest that you used. It looks like a good one. 😊
Thanks.
Sam your an absolute legend- my hero!
the "SUB 4" 💀 Sam's a legend!! well done 🔥
Well done Sam! You are my hero. Word for word.
Way to push through Sam!!! 🎉
Hi Fergus. Do you have a link to the hydration pack you're wearing? Looks like a good fit for a bigger guy and looks to maybe be Osprey who I know make excellent packs/bags etc. so this could be a winner!
