The manual says it can only charge at max of 210Kwh regardless of charger station capabilities.

The battery wasn’t preconditioned long enough. You can tell because the battery temp still said “Low” when you got to the charger. If it had enough time to precondition, it would have said “Suitable”.

Actually it was fine. Ambient temps were normal as well. This was a shared split charger at EV Go and I have been doing testing here for nearly a year on a variety of EVs. When two vehicles are charging on this split 350kw unit, the charging speed is reduced for each car. Once the other vehicle left my charging speeds increased.
This didn't have anything to do with the preconditioning. I've bought EVs here, without anyone else charging, and sometimes didn't even precondition, and got very high speeds.

@@Allcarnews Check your video again. The battery temp still says Low when you got to the charger.

@@monroe177 I did see that. It was preconditioning already for over 20min and ambient temps were not cold.
Again as I mentioned this was a case of the charger’s power distribution not the car itself. And that I know as a fact from charging at this station hundreds of times.

Great video! I know so little about EVs and this gave me some great insight. Did I see correctly that the price for the charge was 41 bucks? Please keep the great videos coming!

its a bigger battery means more kwh capacity. You can charge at home and should cost you less than $15 depending on your ToD but if you have solar... you get free energy.
EVgo isn't really the fastest when charging, Electrify America gave me 237kwh speed which only takes less than 15 mins from 10-80% and average cost $25

@@Visualhead_Spacer Oh nice. Thanks for the info. For me there is still not nearly enough infrastructure to make me even consider to go EV. But maybe one day? Thanks again for the info!

When you navigate to the charger does it preheat the battery? I suspect the battery was at ambient conditions leading to higher internal resistance. Usually you need to get the battery warmer prior to charging. Check out Bjorn Nyland's EV9 charging videos; he usually explains this stuff pretty well.

Yes it does using the Kia navigation system. This was explained in the video. The battery was indeed preconditioned. The charger was not at max speed due to the shared charger system, when the other vehicle left it bumped up my speed.

$40+ to charge every 200 miles is wild. Thats more than a gas 7 seater that gets about 400 miles per tank.
