Dang I swear you were talking to me this whole time. I’m as introverted as they get, and I lack in engagement socially. But I need this experience, and I’m hoping God is with me on this journey that I’ll be going on soon.

It's good you realize it and can work on becoming more open. 😉 Thanks for sharing 👍

Good stuff! RE MSC: Just wondering what is allowed/possible as far as web access, e-mailing, cell phone conversations, facetime etc at sea, on MSC ships, these days? It has been awhile since I sailed with them (mid 1980's) and damn it if i didn't have some kids and relationships with lovers and regular folks I'd like to correspond with during my upcoming time at sea. I'm sure there are some security sensitive assignments out there but what about typical replenishment ships? Which is what I have a lot of experience with and am guessing I might be assigned to. What is the norm nowadays on those ships understanding there may certainly be times where some restrictions are in place? Thanks! love your content!

Is there an age limit to joining the merchant marines? Can you point me to another video that addresses basic questions for joining? Great video!

Hey, great videos and information. Question not related to this video but would you recommend getting and paying for the STCW-BT-Basic Training qualifications before heading to the ship or should i get the quals while on board ship? Hope this makes sense.

Sorry for the delayed response. If you already have the sea-time to qualify for AB and want to go into the Inion, yes. If going to SIU training or MSC, they will get you what you need. Hopefully this makes sense. 🙂

How accepting are mariners? I'm a gay guy, and I can be a bit more introverted at first around conservative guys.
But i work 5 12s a week at a hospital and ive lived all over the country. Im not scared of hard work or new kinds of people.
