This was the "NOISIEST, MOST CLUDDERED" opening jam I've ever heard you guys do.. Two "exceptional players" walking all over each other...must be those basses..
If you buy one of these be prepared to start repairing and replacing parts. I got my V10 DX in January and I'm already working on a second replacement part. Great sounding basses but definitely not boutique build quality. Waiting for sweetwater to send me a new battery compartment with wiring.
It's always a pleasure to see you guys having fun in these jams! You guys definitely love your jobs indeed, and great showcase here indeed!

I tried the V10 at a local dealer. It's gorgeous. However there was plenty of neck dive in my specimen. Body was too light. About the price, only I can say I recently purchased a (NOS) Japan made Prestige series Ibanez SR5000 for the same price. Honestly can't find any fault on the V10 but price should be around $1200 to sit correctly among other basses.
What's new? The prices. New lines come out just to bump the prices and confuse. The sires started out as a good deal but even the first ones that they came out with are up over $200 from where they started.
My sire V10 DX is not even one year old and I already have to start repairing the 9-volt battery compartment box brand new batteries and when I close the compartment something goes wrong on the inside where the preamp stops working so I have to play it in passive mode
I'd expect a real flame maple cap for that price not a veneer. If a Chapman pro guitar can have a flame top for £800 i'm sure they could have included one. The cost of the upgrades is probably no more than about £150 and they charge an extra £500+. I have a lot of time for what Sire and Marcus have done with the brand, but i can't help but feel this is a bit of a money grab IMO. I guess with the brand becoming popular with 'Pro' players, they need a product at a 'Pro' price.
other than differ woods, feels and styles (LOOKS), it seems like all the V series (V3,V7,VINTAGE V7, V9 AND V10) they sound almost exactly the same. Is it just me? Yes i own, V3, V7 AND V9 ASH.
not at all. Ash versus Alder big difference. vintage versus regular big difference. but they all have a base sound that' great and better than Fender. The P10 and V10 sound very bright and modern, like MArcus. in your face. Very studio, balanced, yet avoid being sterile (unlike Fender Elites and Pros).
What I get from this movie is that these basses completely don't work in a rock context. Which makes sense I guess if they're designed for Marcus Miller.
@Chris James ….. you do not own one based on your comment. The instrument at every price point is fantastic. The selling point does not change with the V10 and the other bases are still in the line up
@ V7 with swamp ash and Vintage is around $900 after tax. Not cheap. Teh V10 and now P10 are basically 4000 dollar, luxury (aka geezer) basses, for 1/2 or 1/3 the price.
re: roast vs bake from a chef's perspective and trivia fun. There is no defined difference Bake and roast are generally used by context. In general, proteins get roasted and non-proteins get baked. i can attest as a teenager growing up in NYC in the 80's ,I've been baked and roasted, and can't remember the difference, haha. For any one who cooks just for fun, Here's the fun food trivia to stump and torture your pretentious foodie friends... What's the difference between a vegetable and a fruit? There isn't any. The smart minds go to seeds and reproduction aspects botanically, and others acid content but there are so many anomalies and variations from botanical to culinary terminology (often French), that there is no actual difference. example, tomatoes used to be a vegetable, now classified as a citrus fruit. Hope i didn't waste anyone's time, cheers. Johnny R, chef. Wash DC.
Lee hits the strings rather too hard on this one. Or maybe, he was channeling his inner Geddy Lee.

I don't think Marcus Miller himself will ever move to V10. V7 was a revolution and this model is not a part of that revolution. Too pricy and the sound difference is marginal. However, pro musicians can now differentiate themselves from amateur musicians playing V7s all around.
I think the V7 gen sounds better, of course, if you are a Fender fan. the new basses have a more modern sound, which as a producer, doesnt sound too good when recording, but it's great for Jams (or if you are Marcus, and it' about 2.5 hours of bass music).
@Hinterland_Rider Well I can give you some opinions on the V7 if you'd like. The preamp is simply not great, or good actually, it has big jumps in gain just from tweaking the EQ wich isn't ideal, pots also feel a little bit cheap. The hardware isn't great either, it's better than something Squier but maybe a bit less good than mexican Fenders, the bridge in particular is meh, kinda difficult to adjust at times, tuners feel cheap. Frets are pretty good but not that good like everyone else seems to sasy about them, you definitely could improve them. Overall for 500 bucks there's better used stuff, at least for the 1st gen run, don't know much about the 2nd gen but I think they didn't change much
There just isn't enough Sire bass content on this channel.
I always love hearing the two of you jam
This was the "NOISIEST, MOST CLUDDERED" opening jam I've ever heard you guys do..

Excellent intro
God damn! That intro jam was beyond description!
Oh yeahh man i was about to comment the same thing these lads deserve more credit.

Davie immediately comes to mind with the V9 and V7, he's a beast!
Nice but you could by a custom Maruszczyk bass for the price of the V10.
That roasted maple that Nathan is playing is Gorgeous !!!

Always love the intro jams. Just wish they were longer good work guys
Great, after all that roasting/ baking talk, now I'm starving! ;) Nice review!
Please more sire bass stuff, cool mods or like pedals to go with!
Excellent basses, but the controls on the older models are not built to last, guess that’s a cost reduction exercise.
I have the v3 one
But I think if I have a lot of money i will buy the v10
I don't care if many poeple says it is a crap
Exactly. If you like it, it will sound better.
My sire V10 DX is not even one year old and I already have to start repairing the 9-volt battery compartment box brand new batteries and when I close the compartment something goes wrong on the inside where the preamp stops working so I have to play it in passive mode
they're nice but don't know if the upgrades are worth almost twice the price of the previous model
Yep
I hope it’s like the v9, where it gradually goes down
Love watching these two jam
How heavy are these lads? overly or fairly similar to most basses. Cheers Paul
The V9 just sounds deeper here.
There was a lot of cocaine present before this demo 🤣
yes haha was just thinking that. Makes for a good demo!

No matter what you do, somebody will always have a complaint.
Tiger flame and roasted maple for twice the price. At least I can see the difference.

Boys got their play on today
V9 & V10 are boutique bass right? V3 & V7 are work horses right?
V7 vintage is high end. V3 is beginner bass. V10 luxury. V9 is first attempt at luxury.
Fender Player Jazz or a Sire V7?
Both are good ..But heard complaints on v7
It's Fender Ultra / Elite vs V7 my friend - Player Series is the new V5. Sire wins in all cases. Just sounds better.
What I get from this movie is that these basses completely don't work in a rock context. Which makes sense I guess if they're designed for Marcus Miller.
All i hear is string rattle
Lee, are you morphing into Bob Harris ?
Wow Sire is really trying to price themselves out of the market... Maybe they forgot their biggest selling point was the value.
Did they remove V7 or V3. Why would they out market themselves by making a pricy option?
@Chris James ….. you do not own one based on your comment. The instrument at every price point is fantastic. The selling point does not change with the V10 and the other bases are still in the line up
@@Redridge07 are you serious? Everybody knows electronics are crap on these things. Knobs feel flimsy out of the gate
@ V7 with swamp ash and Vintage is around $900 after tax. Not cheap. Teh V10 and now P10 are basically 4000 dollar, luxury (aka geezer) basses, for 1/2 or 1/3 the price.
@@Redridge07 exactly!!
Can't say I hear any meaningful difference. Nothing anyone will care about but those who sit down to compare in otherwise total silence.
Who do you think you are, Mark King? Oh wait, hang on a minute...

Very interesting
Broasted necks?
Slap like now
A rerun? WE already know about the new feature of these basses.
i would prefer to hear the room sound .
I have a v9 and it’s better than most gender jazz basses I’ve played
Heavy Weather by Weather Report is Bass heavy.
All about the Sires. :D
Lee hits the strings rather too hard on this one. Or maybe, he was channeling his inner Geddy Lee.

Does the roasted neck smell like chicken?
Have one, wouldn’t have another! Not impressed.

정신없네
Dummies-no 2 bases ever sound alike even identical models
Jesus they sound terrible basses..👎🏻
i cant hear the basses over the string rattle
