Good choices. I can’t remember my regular plays when I was working there but I’m sure Spice World was one of them. Did you watch ‘TV Remote Control video? Also, ‘Driving Around West Chester May 1993’ has LA Video, Dennys and even the bowling alley.
so crazy. this was my childhood video store, in west goshen. i never thought i'd see this again. your whole channel is incredible for me. i feel like i knew you, but maybe not, just lived in the exact same time in the exact same place. thank you so much for filming your life and sharing it with us
Honestly can't remember if we were still renting videos in 2001. The last local video store that I can recall became a spot for Warhammer, Magic The Gathering, and a computer room for LAN parties. As soon as we got a DVD player, we were mail ordering DVDs from Netflix.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure my boyfriend & I started doing the Netflix thing around 2001 also. I remember the 1st DVD we got was O' Brother Where Art' Thou, which released in theaters in 2000. 😂
I don’t know about you, video stores were never the same after 1998 especially when DVDs came out maybe it was just cause I was getting older, but I never got the same feeling going to the video store to rent a movie in the 2000s the excitement, they even have plastic covers for all the movies and the covers look like they are print outs lol. I remember the original box with the Styrofoam inside at my video stores.
I’m from the rural parts of Maryland inbetween DC and Baltimore, this looks a lot like the place in which I grew up but it’s to be expected since you’re up in PA.
I hated going into those places because I hated wasting time looking for a movie. I only went in when a) I knew what I wanted to see and b) if I can buy it. I don’t want to watch a movie that I didn’t want to own. If I wanted to watch it then it was a “to own a watch over and over” type thing. ie: austin Powers- Star Wars 4-5-6-1-3 only, dumb and dumber, cheech & Chong, etc. classics! In hindsight, now I miss them.
Funny….. I rented more in the 2000s as I was more interested in indie/limited release titles…. Back in the 90s since I had all the movie channels…. I really didn’t rent that many movies….
Thank you. It's oddly calming. I remember alternating Spice World and Labyrinth on that tv wall from open to close. Simpler times.

where'd you go to HS?

i love this video, and you.

Cool Clerks t-shirt.

Clerks t shirt is deadly my friend. Sweet 🤘

Straight to BAD TASTE. You know he’s got good taste.

Especially cause all the DVD were super scratched and would skip or just not play. Vhs were bricks and almost indestructible
It's definitely because you got older. When I was a kid we would go to Blockbuster and rent the dvds and it was magical to me
I agree. at this point we were hitting video stores just to rent the obscure stuff that hadn't found its way to DVD yet.
@@xXTwigManXxGetting older? Now old were you?
I love that you gravitated to all of the $100+ big boxes. Walk out holding hundreds of dollars of crap.
Ah summer 2001. Here we have schools we call "cegep". I went to that school during that summer. A French course I had to complete hehehe
Gotta love the phrase, "back in the day", in a 23 year old video. 😂
I use to work at the Franklin Video in Exton at that time.
Nice! I worked at Franklin Video Bradford Plaza in ‘98.
@@mistah_whiskahs same one! Right around the corner from the Wawa.

this is fucking insane. this guy just recalled exactly what two movies he rented fom this place last and when
Here before this video gets loads of views

A day before my birthday!
Bat's was actually a good movie. It had Flores from Starship Troopers in it.
Phantom of the Paradise
one of my all-time favorites
The Bare Wench Project is one of the best movies made 👌🏼
what part of PA is this in?
Have you got any Movie recommendations?

same with the indie stuff. at this point we were hitting video stores just to rent the obscure stuff that hadn't found its way to DVD yet.
