yea. bethesda is absolute trash for intentionally destroying our modded game. not mine tho. LUL. id find where they live if they broke my game after 10 years of modding
Before I fully knew about this situation, I actually ended up backing up my files on a device I have when I saw the game trying to update; My gut told me that would've been a good idea, pretty much. The device has more than enough space to hold the files, though it takes a long freakin' time to transfer them. I trusted my gut...and I was right to do so here, it seems. lol
There is another way to protect your game files that involves moving the game folder completely out of Steam. I’ll show you how to do that in a video soon.

Well I didn't know anything about it until the last update ( 1.6 ) was forced on my game; Has anyone form Bethesda officialy adressed this? I mean my game is basically broken now and I cannot play it anymore, although I spent money on it and on the DLCs. I didn't know about any update ( which was pretty much forced ) and all I have after loading a game/character is a black screen and an unresponsive PC - and it seems I'm by far not the only one having this issue
As far as I'm aware no one has addressed it. People are speculating that they knew it would happen and didn't warn anyone. Seems like a generally lack of competence. It's sad to see it being handled this way.
I just reinstalled SE on my PS4 to find they had dumped a bunch of unwanted CC content on me in an update. They even shoved a near full screen popup telling me about "survival mode" when I left the first cave. I've been trying to find a way to go back to SE, but no luck...
I have a question, this trick applies for modding? For example I'm chill modding and I ended up messing my skyrim. If I use the back up, I can fix the mess(?
A bit late, but it is at all possible to safely delete Skyrim from my Steam folder without risk of it breaking the Skyrim outside of Steam and stuff? I'm sorta curious.
Tech support said they couldn't do anything and customer support denied my refund for anniversary edition so just never gonna play a bethesda game again
I also know certain ppl are wear ok ng silicone movie quality face prostetics.those thing are amazing now a days...I mean who can't tell madeda is being played as a man which I's supposed to be Tyler Perry which is will Smith..u gotta look bye the e64f free .deception is everywhere u turn now a days
For real can’t mess that up, and there’s tons of great mods that never got a proper port from legendary edition anyways. I’ll probably still end up playing anniversary edition too though 🤣

@@ZerumTV I had to help a friend mod SE and you're force to use it for certain mods that port in animations from oldrim. It feels like trying to disarm a Russian time bomb.
I would consider moving your game completely out of Steam, which my most recent video covers. I haven’t used SSEdit in a while but you should be able to launch it through MO2. If you do move Skyrim out of Steam using the steps from my video make sure to do the final steps listed in the video description. As always, make sure everything is backed up and safe before making any big changes.
anything i can do if it updated? is there an old save i can download somewhere? i had to send my pc to get fixed and it took a few weeks and i didnt back skyrim to a flash drive and they had to wipe my motherboard
Yes! I’m working on how to download the old client from Steam, for people who weren’t able to make a backup. I will also have a vid on backing up your saves, but it’s very easy, they’re in Documents > My Games > Skyrim Special Edition I highly recommend making a copy of the saves folder from there and backing it up somewhere safe. After you make copies of all your saves then you can start loading saves and seeing if any of them are broken (they might not be, but many mods are broken right now).
There is a programm on Nexus mods (the mod is called "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Downgrade Patcher") that should fix the issues, there are two version, one will revert the game completely, and the other (more experimental one) will fix the compatability issues by only reverting some files but keeping the new content. For me it has so far worked well. Definitly back up your saves before though.
No! I'm so sorry to hear that. There are videos out there on steps you can take to recover your saves. Also, by default Skyrim saves are backed up to the Steam cloud, so not all hope is lost for you.

If you play on PC there’s a downgrade patch on the nexus that might help you. I hope you’re able to recover your saves

my ssedit cant be used and it tells me to start the game through steam.

Try reverting your version of the game and definitly make a copy of all the saves first, you might be able to fix this.
