I'd say it's not really meant for PC or even Xbox owners. It's for all of the Sony owners who struggle with crappy mods (internal assets only). Current PC modded versions will still be better than this Anniversary edition.

I think you mean creation club, creation kit is the tool used to make Bethesda game's mods in general. Granted i guess the creation club is made from creation kit.

The fact that this enhanced version isn't coming to PC makes me think it's just the existing one with the sliders turned up; stuff you can already do on PC anyway. Also, why is there still no Mac version of SE?
I thought it was available for pc, it's just that you're paying a "nominal fee" (stop laughing!) for....stuff that's already available for free plus the assurance that some day more free stuff will happen and be included. I could be wrong though... The Special Edition not being available for Mac is rubbish though - they've so many versions out for so many platforms, it's odd they missed Mac.

I certainly wouldn't expect to find ray tracing or anything fancy like that in this PS5/XSX one either way. Edit: to be clear I mean those fancy enhancements, not just the Anniversary Edition (which is coming to PC but apparently without the "next gen" bells & whistles, which is probably because they're already there).
Ah, i see! In that case the newest version probably IS just "this is what it looks like to have a good pc" for consoles, packaged in with some free tat that they have quite a nerve charging for! I'm further confused by all the different names of these versions - i was positive the special edition from years ago was the legendary edition, but that was the 32 bit version. Not confusing at all. I have noticed that none of these versions have fixed the bugs though, even the quest breaking ones. i LOVE Skyrim, but i feel if they didn't spend any time or money fixing the broken bits, they shouldn't keep getting to squeeze money out of it by tarting it up slightly for a new gen.

It's clear that Bethesda have no love for mods they can't charge people for though, so they probably consider that a boon, although I do feel sorry for anyone on console who doesn't have access to the fixes (not sure whether that's still the case or not).

Honestly, the only thing that sounds remotely interesting is the Fishing. Saints and Seducers? Either it's already a mod on the Nexus, or there's a mod that does it better. Neat that they're giving it for free, though. Survival Mode? That's literally Campfire and iNeed. Both are free mods on the Nexus for both Special Edition and Legacy Edition. The fanmade mods might be interesting, but I doubt I'd pay for them if I can get better mods for free on the Nexus.
You do realize this is mostly for console users and people who have yet to buy the game. Pc players who have mods and really good graphics don’t need to upgrade
Honestly the survival in Skyrim is done well. You don't have to camp alot unless your up north in the snow for a long time...or before a big fight maybe but it's not necessary. The having to eat, sleep and no fast travel is what makes it good. No fast travel makes you experience more random and immersive instances. Having to stop at inns and buy food and warm up by the fire before you sleep for the night is immersive af Fallout 4 survival ...where you can only save when you sleep? That was the worst

We're a month away from release... when are they going to show us the other new pieces of Creation Club content that are coming with this upgrade? Fishing will not get me excited for the Anniversary Edition; new armor, weapons will, quests, and game modes will. I think it's a safe bet that we'll see the rest of the Elder Scrolls: Blades armor from the game files added. But I'm hoping we also get something similar to the Abyss; a procedurally-generated dungeon with increasingly challenging enemies and better rewards as you go along. The Town and Arena modes would also be great additions to Skyrim.

If you have never experienced Skyrim and have never paid for it I suppose it's ok to buy this version for full price. You're easily getting 200 hours for like 50 bucks. That's 25 cents per hour.
TL;DW: *NO* new graphics, *NO* new textures or shaders, NO updates that look better than Special Edition. If you already have Special Edition, you're paying for a bunch of Creation Club content of varying quality plus fishing.

I know most people have already played the game to death, but if you own the Special Edition from 2016, it's a free upgrade on your platform of choice. For those who have never played it, it's only $34.99. That's not bad for someone who is jumping in for the first time because it includes the official mods & enhancements + any other mods you want to use as well. PS5 and Series X/S owners also get the upgraded Ray Tracing (most likely) effects, for free. So, while it is a cash grab, it's not as egregious as others and its strength still lies in the ability to mod it on your platform of choice... Although, having no thirst requirement in the official Survival Mod is perplexing to say the least.
Considering I’ve already paid for the majority of creation club items that I can’t even install into my game anymore because I get a save error, I’m going to pass on this. I hope they fix that bug when they release anniversary edition, it’s the least they can do for the people who have already spent money on the creation club.
I want to see major improvement such as removing loading screen and removing engine limitation on light sources. These are my biggest pet peeves with skyrim. I doubt we'll see anything that amazing though. F those creation club mods, fix the damn game Bethesda.
I think I read that according to developers of the Anniversary Edition SKSE would need to be tweaked to work with the new version of the game. However all other mods will work with out having to do special porting. So right now, no.
Regarding the "enhanced" version update for PS5 and Series X. I wouldn't be so sure that the graphics (as in textures) are significantly improved. Despite me really really hoping for this to happen, chances are that it's just going to be more resolution, faster fps and quicker loading times retaining the same old textures and effects. :-/ Still crossing my fingers, though!
health regeneration doesn't stack in the food any more, training armour in legendary difficulty is now very tedious. Nice to have extras, but it broke the basic game mechanics.
So, they're adding fishing. I must now invent both a Terminator and a Time Machine, and send said Terminator back in time to murder the guy who invented fishing mini games that seem to plague RPGs. Gonna skip survival mode, as I already don't have it and it's available already. Making it free won't convince me to use it. I do like Saints & Seducers, though. On my current Dragonborn, I've got Lydia running around in Golden Saint armor.
If they actually put effort in the graphics, it'll probably be the scale of ESO where it's the less is more approach. Nothing groundbreaking, only just enough, and clean things up where it's necessary. Ofc 60fps for Consoles for the first time. Seriously though, the only reason to get it is if you're on console, mainly PlayStation. Otherwise this new version is obsolete at best.

I was looking forward to see alot of essential mods like sky ui and ah hotkeys in it,that would have been way better than creation mods ! now I have to still stick with my legendary edition! I have a ton of mods ,some of them I manually edited for hours !downside is LE crashes every hour or even less sometimes
To make this more interesting your gonna need to add more than just fuckin fishing. Add some popular light mods in like the multiple follower system. Maybe fix the tree in whiterun so it doesn't clip after the quest . And most importantly FIX SPECIFICALLY VILKAS HE DOES NOT STOP TRYING TO TALK TO ME EVEN WHEN I DONT HAVE BOUNTY. I GOT HIM KILLED BY GIANTS TWICE BECAUSE HE CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD WITH SKJOR and I've been playing raw for trophies
I've actually only played Skyrim VR and SE is on sale on PSN right now for $14. So I'll get that then wait and see if the creation club content is worth whatever the upgrade price is. Probably not.
Not played Skyrim for years and dont have the special edition - the added survival mode is interesting too - that will increase immersion for me personally.
I cannot stress how great iNeed, instead of creation club content they should just add a Dodge mechanic and ill be good, cause the one mod we have is broken

I was hoping for a worthy Dlc like Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Suppose I set my expectations too high.
Considering how old skyrim is now, a new dlc of that size would be very odd. However i wouldn't complain if they did release something like that

I know most people have already played the game to death, but if you own the Special Edition from 2016, it's a free upgrade on your platform of choice. For those who have never played it, it's only $34.99. That's not bad for someone who is jumping in for the first time because it includes the official mods & enhancements + any other mods you want to use as well. PS5 and Series X/S owners also get the upgraded Ray Tracing (most likely) effects, for free. So, while it is a cash grab, it's not as egregious as others and its strength still lies in the ability to mod it on your platform of choice... Although, having no thirst requirement in the official Survival Mod is perplexing to say the least.
It's not a free upgrade for the Special Edition, she said it laud and clear that it will be a paid upgrade

Considering I’ve already paid for the majority of creation club items that I can’t even install into my game anymore because I get a save error, I’m going to pass on this. I hope they fix that bug when they release anniversary edition, it’s the least they can do for the people who have already spent money on the creation club.

I want to see major improvement such as removing loading screen and removing engine limitation on light sources. These are my biggest pet peeves with skyrim. I doubt we'll see anything that amazing though. F those creation club mods, fix the damn game Bethesda.

I think I read that according to developers of the Anniversary Edition SKSE would need to be tweaked to work with the new version of the game. However all other mods will work with out having to do special porting. So right now, no.
Regarding the "enhanced" version update for PS5 and Series X. I wouldn't be so sure that the graphics (as in textures) are significantly improved. Despite me really really hoping for this to happen, chances are that it's just going to be more resolution, faster fps and quicker loading times retaining the same old textures and effects. :-/ Still crossing my fingers, though!
And the graphic mods we have available are already better unless they do like Projekt Red and add a few of the nexus mods
health regeneration doesn't stack in the food any more, training armour in legendary difficulty is now very tedious. Nice to have extras, but it broke the basic game mechanics.
So, they're adding fishing. I must now invent both a Terminator and a Time Machine, and send said Terminator back in time to murder the guy who invented fishing mini games that seem to plague RPGs.
Gonna skip survival mode, as I already don't have it and it's available already. Making it free won't convince me to use it.
I do like Saints & Seducers, though. On my current Dragonborn, I've got Lydia running around in Golden Saint armor.
The fishing isnt a minigame it's just a litlle cutscene sort of thing.
If they actually put effort in the graphics, it'll probably be the scale of ESO where it's the less is more approach. Nothing groundbreaking, only just enough, and clean things up where it's necessary. Ofc 60fps for Consoles for the first time. Seriously though, the only reason to get it is if you're on console, mainly PlayStation. Otherwise this new version is obsolete at best.

To make this more interesting your gonna need to add more than just fuckin fishing. Add some popular light mods in like the multiple follower system. Maybe fix the tree in whiterun so it doesn't clip after the quest . And most importantly FIX SPECIFICALLY VILKAS HE DOES NOT STOP TRYING TO TALK TO ME EVEN WHEN I DONT HAVE BOUNTY. I GOT HIM KILLED BY GIANTS TWICE BECAUSE HE CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD WITH SKJOR and I've been playing raw for trophies

Not played Skyrim for years and dont have the special edition - the added survival mode is interesting too - that will increase immersion for me personally.
Download the iNeed mod and similar for the exact same experience but free.
I cannot stress how great iNeed, instead of creation club content they should just add a Dodge mechanic and ill be good, cause the one mod we have is broken
