***** They got blown in 08 with no Ariza and no Bynum, you seen how much of a factor Ariza was in the 09 Finals, as a Laker fan I can say Bynum wouldn't of done anything but add a bigger presence to the paint. I was really pulling for a Lebron vs Kobe Finals in 09 and 10. I hate the Celtics with a passion but it was good to see one of my all time Favorites in Paul Pierce get his ring
u do have to wonder what happens if KG wasn't injured. Allen & Pierce were still allstar level, Rondo was becoming that floor general. Even Perkins was holding his own.
Veterans know when their time come to put on their best. Everyone wrote off dirk nowitzki at the finals. But then he ended up playing the best games of his career. And now Ray Allen has helped the heat win another championship. It seems that veterans just know when to show up.
do u expect Ray Allen play instead D-Wade?! Ray is now 37-year old,way past his prime..He is now a role player on a championship calibar team, exactly what he needs and what he is capable of.
dude that was just 3 years ago ! ray could still drop big games like this especially since his gonna have many wide open shots playing on the heat . 2013 nba champs miami heat baby
bulls went on to win it. but the celtics were able to beat them in game 7 and move on in the playoffs, but were beaten by orlando in 7 games. but dude! this was one of the best series ever !! 4 games go into OT, one into triple, one into double, this was pure excitement.
It was not just that, but with the absence of Garnett and a few others, it was a glimpse of basketball past, No primed superstars , just good hard on 5 on 5 basketball, every player on every team did their part.. including, yes, Brian Scalabrine who even saw playing time and hit some nice 3's ... it was amazing.
2009 Ray Allen was fucking insane in the playoffs. The battle between Ray and Ben Gordon was RIDICULOUS. Out of the Celtics run, besides the championship, the clutchness from Ray in this series STILL sticks out in my head. Then he started to fall off the next year. IMO The last of his prime years were in Boston. Glad he spent them here....
My favourite player and a great role model. This is known as one of the best series in NBA history and Ray Allen killed it. He carried his team this game and hes still got it. Cant wait for him to win another ring with LBJ and the rest of south beach.
I remembered that game like I watched it yesterday... One of the best show by Ray Ray, that was epic series Bulls and Boston, in every game we had OT, Allen was really fabulous...
For your information, they already won this year without ray allen. I think you should stop hating and appreciate the fact that such a great team is put together.
I see a lot of people saying Ray lost a step, but I don't think he lost as much as most of you think. Celtics just didn't utilize a lot of his skill due to the way they played. I think that's one of the reasons he left. I guarantee some of you will be surprised this year. And he has something to prove, so watch out!!! That's all i gotta say! He was a beast in this game...
One of his best performances of his career. I remember I was mad leaving the house cuz we had to get a new tv at pcrichard wen this was on. I found out they had this game on in pcrichard so i jus sat there with like 30 other people watching this
Ray Allen will always be the greatest 3 point shooter in the NBA? and before anyone says Green or Curry already broke his record well those guys don't even come up to what Ray Allen can do
+sexypimp911 Curry is the greatest shooter of all time. It's no question. Ray Allen is so clutch and cool though. "He’s creating a lane all of his own. People comparing him to me, to Reggie [Miller]. But I think Steph is in a category of his own. Just being able to have great handles the way he has with the ball, to be able to score at will by getting to the basket. Myself, Reggie Miller, Kyle Korver, Klay Thompson-we play a different game. We’re shooters. We come off screens, pindowns-Steph can do that, but he’s creating a different lane. Point guards haven’t been able to do what he’s been able to do, because he’s mixing that 2 guard-ish in there with having the great handles of a point guard." - Ray Allen on Steph Curry.
For one, the Celtics big 3 three was already passed their prime when they met. For two, the Celtics big three was a result of a trade on both garnett and allen's part. No one requested a trade to go to a team just so they can have no competition, that's just how things worked out. Miami's big three was achieved by both Lebron and Bosh requesting teams, and they are in their prime.
the scariest thing about him going to miami is that instead of shooting of the screen he might be taking open shots when lebron wade sometimes bosh demand the double team or help defense if there isn't any help then thats just free points
these days most teams are superstar mega teams. NyK, OKC, LAL, LAC, Bnets, MIA, and most other teams too every year competitiveness is getting hotter and hotter.
How many times must I repeat myself? The Celtics "Superteam" formed at the end of their careers. Garnett and Allen didn't choose to come as free agents. They got traded there. Unlike LBJ and Chris Bosh. And now I wait for the 4th person to message me with this same comment.
lebron, bosh and allen, SIGNED AS FREE AGENTS. they did not get traded in return for different players. their contracts were up with their current teams and they were free to join a different team if they liked. they didn't request to leave. they just left. garnett requested to be traded several times from minnesota because they were terrible his last few seasons there. do the research. it's all there. there's a big difference between requesting a trade and signing somewhere else as a free agent
Getting Garnett was no "lucky trade", Kevin Mchale gladly helped Danny Ainge in facilitating that lopsided deal. The Lakers do that stuff all the time though.
I remember just waking up to watch the game it was already the 3rd quarter and i saw Ray already had 40 and i was like.. you gotta be shyting me lol. The best catch and shoot shooter ever, sorry reggie. Closest guy to Ray is Ben McLemore but until he can knock down shots consistently i see Ray standing alone as the best and smoothest shooter ever
Hate the Celtics with a passion, but I idolize the shit outta Ray Allen. I think Ray JUST left his prime this season. Up until this point, Ray was running around with the kids like it was nothing. It's a shame injuries are finally taking a toll on his body. I hope to god the Heat beat them, but I wouldn't mind seeing Ray have another 50 point game at least.
lebron and chris bosh were free agents. they decided to take a pay cut to play with dwyane wade for a chance at a championship. ray allen and kevin garnett were both traded to the celtics. ray allen was also signed as a free agent when he went to miami. nash and howard were traded to the lakers. you're saying it's okay for the celtics to be a superstar team, but it's not okay when other teams decide to do it.
There were many great teams that acquired their players in the same manner as the Celtics long before the Celtics did it, and they didn't even do anything, all they did was get some lucky trades unlike the Heat and the Lakers.
Most Celtics fans aren't mad with Ray Allen for the fact that he left, we're mad for the fact that he went to the Heat, of all teams. If he would have gone to any other team except the Lakers or the Thunder I would have not had any problem because Ray had reasons to leave. Fuck these superstar mega teams man, they ruin the competitiveness of the sport.
My bad, that's what I meant. But they were all offered new contracts, and they weren't forced to go to the Heat. Garnett didn't have to be traded, and he didn't have to be traded to the Celtics, but that's what happened.
with this year, they were also down jeff green due to his heart issue and avery bradley because of shoulder surgery. Even with just Avery, and his defensive wizardry, they could have beat Miami and then OKC
True, but there's a difference. I don't have a problem with superstar teams as long as their players were acquired through the draft, or through non-requested drafts. The Celtics fall into that category. Lebron, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Steve Nash and Dwight Howard all requested trades to go to the teams that they're at today. That's not competitive, that's taking the easy way out.
its not that he left, he can go anywhere. it's that he went to the enemy, the miami heat. he could have played anywhere else in the WORLD, and it wouldn't have mattered.
1. Ray Allen retires after this or the next season, then he could live anywhere he wants. 2. Championships mean nothing if you have to betray your teammates and join a superstar team to win them. 3. It's not about what Celtic fans don't like, it's about what most true NBA fans don't like, selectively bred superstar teams.
Celtics treated him not all that well, tried to trade him twice, he's older now, he knows his time is limited and his priorities are as follows. Win another ring, win another ring, and win another ring.
I know their biggest rival has been the Lakers, that's not their only rival though. The heat are currently big rivals as well. He made the decision that was best for himself. The only benefit their would be for his family would be the fact that they live in Miami. Big deal, he's rich as hell anyways. I misunderstood what you meant by the role thing, but he didn't have to go to the heat to have a smaller role, and that's that.
i'll keep saying this to every single person who writes that, Take away Lebron's 16 PTS in that QTR including his 3 right before that and Chris Bosh's OREB, Ray's 3 DOES NOTHING. Thank you very much for your time :)
thats exactly what im saying. why cant after playing in the league for more than 15 years cant he go somewhere where he can win and not worry about being put in trade rumors all time time.
This is why Ray Allen is my favorite player
same here :D
If KG had not had gotten hurt that year Celtics would have repeated
They weren't gonna beat the Lakers that year, the Lakers were 65-17 and were on a mission.
DraikonZ3 The lakers got blown out by 40 points in game 6. I don't think ariza and bynum are about to make up a 40 point deficit.
+DraikonZ3 The Celtics 2009 team was better than the 2008 team
u do have to wonder what happens if KG wasn't injured. Allen & Pierce were still allstar level, Rondo was becoming that floor general. Even Perkins was holding his own.
One of my favorite players ever. He is like a dancer.
You all seeing this? This is how Ray Allen looks like when he's in the zone - truly a beast at certain situations.
Greatest shooter that ever lived
zingGodin not anymore
Crazy how it changes in just 5 years
dude that was just 3 years ago ! ray could still drop big games like this especially since his gonna have many wide open shots playing on the heat .
I love the commentators in Chicago, they are always enthusiastic no matter which team they are commenting on.
Ray went in BEAST mode this entire series.. him and ben going back and fourth

Ray Allen would outshoot the whole GoldenState Warriors team in his prime. He's the Greatest Shooter to lace up.
I remembered that game like I watched it yesterday... One of the best show by Ray Ray, that was epic series Bulls and Boston, in every game we had OT, Allen was really fabulous...
This is the greatest playoff series of all time
For your information, they already won this year without ray allen. I think you should stop hating and appreciate the fact that such a great team is put together.
"OOOOOO! Ray Allen has done it again!"
none of that shit would've mattered if Ray didn't make the friggin shot.Thank you very much for your time too.
Ray is a legend dude, im pretty sure michael wouldn't be able do a whole lot. Bird said he hadn't even picked up a basketball in about 20 years
ray sure loves that corner when it comes to clutch time in the post-season :P
This series was one of the best in years
ray ray has been his nickname all his career
I see a lot of people saying Ray lost a step, but I don't think he lost as much as most of you think. Celtics just didn't utilize a lot of his skill due to the way they played. I think that's one of the reasons he left. I guarantee some of you will be surprised this year. And he has something to prove, so watch out!!! That's all i gotta say! He was a beast in this game...

Sugar Ray was unstoppable !!!! AMAZING !!!!
Ray Allen will always be the greatest 3 point shooter in the NBA? and before anyone says Green or Curry already broke his record well those guys don't even come up to what Ray Allen can do
Ray Allen or drazen petrovic are my choices to be the best shooters of all time. I just can't choose.
And Miller.
+jamesasui easy choice, larry bird
+sexypimp911 Curry is the greatest shooter of all time. It's no question. Ray Allen is so clutch and cool though.
"He’s creating a lane all of his own. People comparing him to me, to Reggie [Miller]. But I think Steph is in a category of his own. Well he broke Ray Allens record for most threes in a season! But Ray Allen still has the record for most threes ever shot!
the last time Kendrick Perkins smiled
Thanks for the reminder here. I had completely forgotten about this feat by Ray
For one, the Celtics big 3 three was already passed their prime when they met. For two, the Celtics big three was a result of a trade on both garnett and allen's part. No one requested a trade to go to a team just so they can have no competition, that's just how things worked out. This is one of the best playoff series ever
one of the best games i've ever seen
punch down a cone and watch ray allen highlights.. love it
Jesus Shuttlesworth!!
Once the greatest...always the greatest.....
EPIC GAME by Ray Ray.Celtics for life
such a pure scorer
the scariest thing about him going to miami is that instead of shooting of the screen he might be taking open shots when lebron wade sometimes bosh demand the double team or help defense if there isn't any help then thats just free points
these two are Kevin Harlan and Doug Collins from TNT not Chicago broadcast lol
these days most teams are superstar mega teams. NyK, OKC, LAL, LAC, Bnets, MIA, and most other teams too every year competitiveness is getting hotter and hotter.

top 5 greatest shooters of all time
lebron and chris bosh were free agents. they decided to take a pay cut to play with dwyane wade for a chance at a championship. ray allen and kevin garnett were both traded to the celtics. ray allen was also signed as a free agent when he went to miami. nash and howard were traded to the lakers. you're saying it's okay for the celtics to be a superstar team, but it's not okay when other teams decide to do it.
Ray Ray was money in this series.
great series
OF COURSE HE NAILED 51
he got the god touch at 2:31
There were many great teams that acquired their players in the same manner as the Celtics long before the Celtics did it, and they didn't even do anything, all they did was get some lucky trades unlike the Heat and the Lakers.
Ray allen best NBA PLAYER EVAAAAA
He looked so much better in a Celtics jersey.. Miss you Ray
My favorite commentator
Ray Allen = Clutch
Most Celtics fans aren't mad with Ray Allen for the fact that he left, we're mad for the fact that he went to the Heat, of all teams. If he would have gone to any other team except the Lakers or the Thunder I would have not had any problem because Ray had reasons to leave. Marv Albert is a fucking boss commentator. What I would do for another series like this with Marv Albert and Kevin Harlan as the commentators.
When Allen is shooting the free throw, the Cletic forwards arent even trying to defend the net because they know it's going in
thats why hes the best shooter
I am so happy.he's a role player on my heat squad!!!
My bad, that's what I meant. But they were all offered new contracts, and they weren't forced to go to the Heat. Garnett didn't have to be traded, and he didn't have to be traded to the Celtics, but that's what happened.

Ray allen gave rondo that opportunity by being able to make those shots
thats the old celtics i fell in love with
True, but there's a difference. God of 3 points!
Welcome to Miami Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis haters gonna hate.
its not that he left, he can go anywhere. it's that he went to the enemy, the miami heat. he could have played anywhere else in the WORLD, and it wouldn't have mattered.
1. Ray Allen retires after this or the next season, then he could live anywhere he wants. 2. Championships mean nothing if you have to betray your teammates and join a superstar team to win them. 3. Celtics treated him not all that well, tried to trade him twice, he's older now, he knows his time is limited and his priorities are as follows. Win another ring, win another ring, and win another ring.
coming from a Celtic fan. You guys started this super-team trend anyway.
Yeah I do, the both of them are very good!
He was feeling it
I know their biggest rival has been the Lakers, that's not their only rival though. The heat are currently big rivals as well. He made the decision that was best for himself. Welcome to South Beach Ray.
yes.ikr its happening heat 2012-2013 nba champions.
after his movie He Got Game he was given the name sugar ray allen or Jesus Shuttlesworht but wen he got out of college everyone knew him as ray ray
Do you know why Allen had 51 and played a great game?
Scal gave him lessons!
ray was a free agent.. he wasn't still on the team
every pass to ray is a good pass..
BEAST.
It was dangerous weapon in the world
Holly shit allen ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was 3 years ago a lot has changed since then
i'll keep saying this to every single person who writes that, Take away Lebron's 16 PTS in that QTR including his 3 right before that and Chris Bosh's OREB, Ray's 3 DOES NOTHING. Thank you very much for your time :)
well your right he's on there now!!!!!!!
His shot looked better on the Celtics than it did in Miami
i think it is SOOO FLY when a player drains a three on a fast break, its risky but you look soo cool when it happens yo
It's different because the Celtics traded to acquire superstar players. Teams like Miami and LA got their superstars through free agencies.
He is a great shorter and an awesome player!!!!!
This is what Ray Allen is going to be doing to the Celtics playing for the Heat next year.
I remember you 3 years ago posting CavsNation on a Lebron video
i miss ray allen playing for the sonics. i miss the sonics period
thats exactly what im saying. why cant after playing in the league for more than 15 years cant he go somewhere where he can win and not worry about being put in trade rumors all time time.
This just got me hype!
Exactly, which is why he'll never be considered as one of the all time greats by a lot of people.
ima miss ray allen playing for the celtics
bulls by one. They are my both favourite teams
