    I applied these 2 excersises and did them every training for almost 3 years when I went on coaching a team I couldn't do these drills. What I noticed during my own games is that my shooting ritme was way off. What I'm trying to say is that these are great excersises and ray allen is one hell of a shooter perhaps the best in the world. My fav player for sure.

    hes so right about getting your shot going when you feel like your shots off. what he does is free throws to get his shot going, but for shorter guys playing on a ten foot rim, shooting basic post and mid post shots gets your shot going.
    i really didnt explain that very well but hopefully it'll help you out. it works for me. lol

    Hell yeah! I was looking for some Ray Allen drives and dunks from the Sonics and Bucks days. My man could get up, he was a high flyer! He was in the dunk contest too when he was with the Bucks. He reminded me of Jordan back then. Everything...Jumper! Drive! Dunk! Ray Allen is M.J. protege to me.

    Just a personal opinion, since you have a solid mid range shot, take a step or two back from the mid range and practice your shot. As you get comfortable with the shot gradually step back and shoot until you get to the 3 pt line. This may take a bit of time to getting used to but should definitely improve your range. Bend the knees to get a bit more power, and balance.

  • @tygeezy
    @tygeezy 15 лет назад

    Make sure when you are gripping the ball with your shooting hand. Dont have your palm touch the ball. You only want your fingers controlling the ball. It should also be a fairly soft grip with your fingers. The guide hand is just keeping you from dropping the ball. Make sure you follow threw is soft, all the power in your jump shot comes from your lower body. I highly recommend checking out pete maravich shooting instruction videos on here that have been posted.

  • @topoy6
    @topoy6 17 лет назад

    rhythm and your routine... you keep doin it and most important thing is you get your knees bend and follow through... keep doing it over & over about 1000 shots/day at least... to get a go0d result on your jumpers/jumpshots gotta have a repitition on your routine and then youLL get in good rhythm then your shots improve...

    I love Ray Allen's jump shot. It's just looks so sweet. Has to be the best jump shot in the NBA. I'm going to try these things out, when I get a chance. He forgot to mention how you are suppose to have horse calves. XD. Did you see his? That's how he gets so much air on his jump shot.

  • @Jaksan
    @Jaksan 16 лет назад

    that happens to every basketball player and the most important thing is that he got out of it. remember game 4 of the nba finals. he played the entire game. played pg and scored 26 points and that drive by lay up of vujacic

  • @flatjacket1
    @flatjacket1 15 лет назад

    My coach uses a desk, for the best player on our basketball team. He jump forward alottt, but hes going to division 1 college ball for sure.
    Its nothing to do with strength, its just bad form. Its actually takes alot more strength to shoot with good form, then jumping forward.
    Even if your missing alot like that, just keep doing it. you'll be thankful once you get to higher levels, and taking off balance shots.

    Steph will get more time and thus points and being a point guard he will get more shots than ray over his career but I'd still rather have Ray shoot the 3 with 5 secs to go for the win. 25 or 35. Ray is the best 3 point shooter of all time and I think the second best jump shooter ever.

    Bending you knees and having a semi explosive jump is SO important when shooting. This is because you want most of your energy coming from your legs and not your arms. This will help you aim a lot easier

    A lot of fools don't know anything. In the finals last season Ron Artest kneed Ray in the thigh and gave him a deep bone bruise in game 3 which made him unable to jump properly...thus affecting his JUMP SHOT. He didn't go cold, he was hurt. You didn't hear about that at the time (and even now people are clueless?) because Ray isn't one to blame injuries.
