      I pulled up next to cops who were on their mobile phone, it was 2 detectives stopped in the middle of the road no sirens or lights nothing... They pulled me over when i pulled up next to them and yelled out to get off their phone... their excuse was "we're working for the queen of the commonwealth" and it was none of my business why they were stopped in the middle of the road on their phone literally causing a traffic jam.

      And the officers don't know the laws either. Probably shouldn't do a show like this without checking the law Vic police. Because electric scooters can be used by disabled people if they are speed limited. And no they don't require a helmet. That would be for a bike not for a mobility device.

    Roads are built for motorists, designed for motorists and paid for… by motorists!! The focus of cyclist safety whilst important, is second to the priority of motorists utilising these roads and without the safety risk these cyclists put themselves in!!

      Barefoot is discouraged because after an accident you're at a high risk of further injury. I feel this myth might be because driving schools would probably say you aren't allowed to in their cars.

The state says the child is safer mingling with B-Doubles on a roadway than using the footpath. It's all good though, the child will be protected with a line of paint in some places. If something goes wrong, the child's helmet will protect them from being crushed by 60 tonnes of truck.

      @MuertoPorDentro512 Месяц назад +2

      @@JasondenHollander-qj5hp "Scooters flying past" pedestrians on footpaths is an infrastructure problem. Australia's transport infrastructure problems are the result of lack spineless politicians. The leading cause of child death in Australia is cars and motorists. Motorists are found partially or wholly at fault in over 80% of collisions with pedestrians, but that doesn't matter here because the majority of kids killed in car crashes were a passenger in a car. Drivers of cars and trucks kill 1000+ people annually in Australia, seriously injure 5000+, cause over 50% of all annual TBI's, and cause an unknown number of minor injuries. Literally an unknown number because our govts care so little that we don't keep proper statistics at a national level. 10000+ Australians die annually from respiratory and other medical conditions caused by vehicle pollution. Families in Australia's outer suburbs are forced to spend 25%+ of their annual household income on car ownership. The mental health of Australian children is the 3rd worst of all OECD countries, with most Australian kids unable to independently venture outside thanks to the dangers created by cars. The solution to all of these problems is to stop prioritising cars, speed, and motorist convenience above all else in our cities... right? Nah lets ban e-scooters and crack down on cyclists for existing.

    I came here for the road rules so I got 9/10 as the last Q. was not important due to an 80's Swans player wearing very tight shorts, as I was a teen back then I decided that this code of footy was 'Fairy Football'. I'm in my 50's now & that has stuck with me all my life. Men jumping so high in the air like Fairies to get the ball. Please bring on the hate or blame Capper! LOL. 😂

    In South Australia you cannot ride e-scooters on ANY public road or pathway. They are ONLY legal on *private* property - with the owners' permission, if it's not your property. And the fine for doing so IS $1,500.00 - for "driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle" . There may be new rules/laws coming out... but until then - IIWII.
    In S.A., The speed limit when passing an emergency vehicle on the side of the road, with it's lights flashing is 25 Km/h.
    The barefoot driving thing has always been allowed with the mentioned stipulations. I have even driven in thongs (or whatever YOU call 'em - the footwear) but that is defo NOT the safest way to drive, so I only did it a couple of times. The thongs can move unpredictably.... and even fall off and get tangled up in your pedals... barefoot is much safer.

    1.5 meters for cyclists?!? Just give them their own lane while your at it. The roads are for cars, cyclists dont pay to be on the road. It makes sense the people who pay to use the roads take priority.

    Road safety is multi faceted, but the powers that be choose to focus on the easiest and biggest earners. My list would include. Terrible road surfaces. Terrible road layout and street signage. Driver training. Driver refresher training, or lack of. In car distractions of most modern vehicles. These have grown to an unacceptable level, with huge touch screens etc. Your mobile phone is nothing compared to these. Driver aids in cars. Dumb down the driver's ability, and in fact can often be more harmful that good. Stupid road rules. Like the one for passing a cyclist. The disparity of speed between the bike and the car causes the driver to drive erratically in such encounters to comply with this if no clear passing position eventuates. You either have to slam on the brakes behind the bike or take a chance out wide in oncoming traffic to pass. Ill thought out, nonsense legislation. Other distractions. Obsession with speed monitoring. Australia has this weird thing with varying speed limits. In on short stretch of road a speed limit can go through eight variations. I had never seen this madness anywhere before. You spend more time trying to work out what the limit is, and looking at the speedo, than watching what else is happening. Because the police set up radar on the change points to catch the unwary. This is often entering built-up areas where you should be concentrating on other vehicles, pedestrians etc. Instead the emphasis is on the speedo and not getting fined. But according to authorities in most cases it is speed. Anyone with half a brain could poke holes in that argument, but it is an easy and profitable option. Little effort is made to solve the bigger problems that may really reduce the road toll.
