I just want to say thank you so much you saved me so much time into looking for good quality tools for my shop may God keep blessing you and hope you know that your a blessing to others
Thanks for the recommendations. I use the shinemate ex620 15 for a few years now and love it, but I can't find shinemate pads in 5" to save my life. I've noticed the shinemate pads are much lighter than other brands, and so using heavier pads (for example the LC HDO) can unbalance the machine slightly. I've actually replaced the backing plate with a much lighter plate made for a da sander, and now the blue HDO pad runs with absolutely no vibration at all. I totally recommend the mod, it improves the performance with most pads, but you do need to cut about 3mm of rubber off the shroud since the shinemate backing plate stands off a bit more and other plates won't have that clearance. You'll also need to find a plate with m8 threads. That may be easy in AUS, but in the US all that's available is 5/16-24. Some places list these as interchangeable, but on my shinemate machine I had to cut new m8 threads onto the spindle of a 5/16 plate. Sorry for the long-winded comment, but I wanted to tell SOMEBODY about my experience. I know you use that polisher and pad, and if you are up for a few minutes of fiddling it's worth it. The improvement isn't minor.
I had 21 ex620 and it is a beast but I still prefer My 15 and 21 mk3's. I have eb351 15 and Milwaukee M18 15 and 21. Even though the Shinemate is a great machine, the Milwaukees are on another level. Yes they are bit heavier but they are so powerful and erconomics are great. I Love them and now my Rupes 15/21 are collectint dust. I just bought Rupes HLR75 and it is mind blowing machine. By far the best 3" polisher there is. I do have PXE80 and i dont like it as 3" that much but for 1" and 2" it is much more powerfull than Rupes Nano. I have Rupes rotary which replaced my Flex rotary and i like it better Seems like everyone has little different tastes 😊 Great video, thanks Sandro 👌🏻💪🏻
I think a recent revelation to me when it comes to compounds has be Koch Chemie's latest revision of H9.02. This is going to be my go to for hard GM paint on trucks. We had a truck come in with a darker blue paint and it looked like someone had lined metal rakes on both sides of the truck and told the person to drive back and forth. We were thinking multistage for this amount of damage, but amazingly, it cut and finished down with a lake country HDO microfiber. Had next to zero dusting as well, which is always a plus.
Great upload, Sandro! After extensive trial and error, several thousands of dollars spent, and years testing I've settled on a "home base". Tools: Porter Cable 7424xp Rupes Nano long neck Rupes Mini Rupes Duetto Polishes: 3D Speed - cleaner wax 3D AAT502 - ultra finishing polish 3D ACA520 - finishin 3D ONE - medium polish. 3D ACA500 - Extreme Cutting Pads: Rupes DA white foam - ultra finishing. Rupes DA yellow foam - general polishing / finishing / one step. Rupes DA yellow wool - light cut / polishing / one step. Rupes DA coarse blue wool - extreme cutting. They meet the criteria of low dusting, trim safe, effectiveness, user friendly, and relatively safe formulations in regards to health. 3D ONE has been a knockout all star for me though. I've used it more than any other polish since it's release in 2018. At this point it's become a handicap or a crutch where I almost can't use anything else with the same amount of comfort and relaxation. The Jescar line is the runner up though. I also keep Megs around for nostalgic reasons.
Really interesting how nv is a premium brand but in ozzy it’s actually affordable while overseas its just not worth the price unfortunately. If only they could expand their supply chain and make it more efficiently
The amusing thing is companies like NV are able to exist because of logistical issues and a long history of Australia being so isolated that they've had to develop their own engineering and manufacturing of which they are some of the best in the world not to mention closer ties with the Asian manufacturers and have had a history of being able to sort through that confusion. At the end of the day it is a luxury as I'm sure there's something far more price effective for your market. Luckily for things like polishes and compounds a lot of times for your average consumer, you're really not going to use it that often and a bottle will go a little long way. For other things like washes and solutions, things would have to be extremely concentrated like something akin to the CarPro washes but you could also see why retailers would really not want to have things where the consumer could mess it up the stateside because many of us measure by the glug. And the end high concentration stuff is kind of reserved for professionals and manufacturers and not for the consumers. Luckily, we are insanely fortunate to have so many of the options that we do have and access to our local professional items and a lot of our imports are fairly reasonable compared to some of the tariffs and logistical costs than many other places face. It's really a matter of value to you if you're not a professional and if you are, then of course you have a business plan that you have to craft and try and figure out its viability. I think looking past the consumer stuff you can find stuff that is just as affordable per use, or even more affordable as you step into more of what the pros use. I feel like retail products kind of gouge us and a lot of what we're paying for is for the product to be dumbed down so that we can eyeball it and they dont get a bad review because we're too stupid to read the label or measure anything. I've actually grown to appreciate Meguire's even more over the years. I also really like the 3D brand and I specifically have high glossifier Chemical Brothers for washing family and friends cars since it has that shininess that normal people are attracted to but I just used boring no smell Carpro soap for my own cars. We all have our own personal value points for our own markets. The car did telling market in a lot of ways is similar to the cosmetics market as you try and find the proper product to meet your need and your price point with a ton of marketing, hype and a lot of products that promise the world with ultra exotic formulations from foreign places and is filled with diminishing returns. Just look to cultivate your arsenal and tool set. Much like when Sandro was doing all the stuff with Meguire's mother's and turtle wax his weighting system would obviously be affected by the amount that the products cost for him and that would be silly for me to tell him no this is the best value product just because that's what I believe because in my market suddenly it's 40% cheaper. I just remind myself I could live in a lot of places where logistics and tariffs are even more challenging and they don't have a great local offering either. The seaweed isn't always greener.
Amazing video, Sandro. Like many others, I hold your opinion in very high regard, so I liked seeing what you thought about a swathe of different gear. After the paint correction training I did with you, I bought a HLR75 of my own and haven’t looked back - what an absolutely fantastic machine…except for that bloody start button 😂. Be well mate!
I like your videos ! That sonax perfect finish is for the body shops but they don't wanna spend the money 👎🏾 the efficiency of taking out sanding marks & finishing results is on point 👌🏾
Interesting to hear how you feel about these. Personally I have mostly a shitload of hard paint cars, and i have found that ultracut with a Rupes yellow wool pad provides exceptional cut and finishing-down when compared to shock cut and S20 Black.
My first polish I used was s20 black! I tried 3d hybrid and I liked it more than s20 black, extremely easy wipe off, smell, a long working time cycle and great results. As a ultra fine I only used 3m ultra fine. Heavy compounds I used 3m fast cut plus, Koch Chemie h9 O2 and 3d aca 500. I liked 3d aca the most, 3m I feel like it has the best cut/finish out of the 3, but it dusts quite a lot and not as easy wipe out. Here in Europe all polishes are pretty much the same prices.
Another amazing video by you Sandro always super informative and the video quality is impeccable as always ! I always love seeing your reviews and seeing what you use/have used it’s always really cool to try out products that I’ve not used and I now have an amazing arsenal of NV/carpro/shine mate/shine supply products that I’ve gotten simply from your videos so thank you again for an amazing video keep it up ❤
Looking forward to watching this video this evening! I got a Tornador on your recommendation a while ago and I'm using it for absolutely everything lmao, not just my car
Sandro, Fantastic video as always. Loved to see the Scholl compounds on this list, I recently picked them up alongside my new shinemate and I've been blown away with the versatility of these compunds. I'm going to be buying those lake country HDO pads you mentioned in this video (both the foam and microfibre). Great content as always!
I work with 3d 1 step quite regularly. Such an easy 1 step polish. Easy to remove, easy to apply, finishes extremely well. It is a bit expensive though.
@@KingRockets have you tried using nv finesse. I find that it dusts quite a bit but nv finesse is by far my favourite atm. Do you have the lake country hdo pads.
@@davidball. I have not used NV Finesse. Still have a bottle of 3D one and Sonax Perfect Finsih to get through. I just use the regular ccs foam pads not the hdo pads.
@@KingRockets - Those orange ccs pads were their flagship cutting pads about ten years ago. Try the white or blck ccs to finish with 3D ONE. At work, I've been able to finish with it just using the orange HDO pads we have. It's been said that the orange foam is the same as the orange ccs, but I haven't used the orange ccs/flats in ages. There have been times when I just couldn't finish down with ONE for whatever reason. In those very few instances I will switch to 3D AAT502. At home I use Rupes line of pads, so their yellow or white foams will get the job done.
Sandro, have you ever tried Scholl Concepts S3 Gold XXL? It was recommended for me to use this on either soft finicky clear or even hmediumand hard paints as well. Then I was told to finish with the S30+ This is of course paint that has some pretty Deep scratches and some other defects.
Yes I’ve used S3Gold a lot in the past and is without a doubt one of the best compounds ever made as is S30+. I do however feel that since S3’s release compounds have progressed, so in today’s market it is starting to feel a little dated, especially with S2 Black that seems to both cut and finish better. Compounds have just gotten so good in the past few years so there may be a few newer compounds worth looking at. S30+ however is still a gem even in today’s market.
Great information thank you so so much. I was looking for a video like this. Most of these reviews are at least four years old. Thank you for the update.
Excellent work Sandro. It was nice to see some good "old faithfuls" like AG SRP and 3D Speed on your list. I've used both and they're still fantastic AIOs. Also, congratulations on hitting 200k subscribers. Cheers, and have a great week.
Another masterpiece Its a great BODY of work IT's great to see that these are the products you use and love all the time Rather than this it best thing right now Carpro utracut is very good i do enjoy using it Thanks for recommending it to me I have always used lake country HDO pads they work a treat on most paint types Thanks for a great video as always keep them coming IN SANDRO we trust
For anyone who has been thinking about a new polisher I can’t recommend shinemate. I have the 15/5 ex615 polisher, I love how smooth it runs for the price
Hi Sandro, I would really value your experience with this one. If ranking the Rupes Blue and Yellow foam as well as the LC HDO Blue and Orange on Shine Mates T120 etc scale how would you number them. This would greatly assist me with making comparisons between the pads.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks Sandro. So far the list is: Green Shinemate>Rupes Blue>Yellow Shinemate>Blue HDO>Orange HDO>Rupes Yellow/Blue Shinemate. Could you please place shinemate orange? I predict it would be similar to an orange HDO but would love your professional opinion. This could be an interesting video topic, comparing the cut/density of modern foam pads.
Yes the the SM Orange is the same grade as the LC orange and Rupes yellow. Maybe this video will also be helpful: ruclips.net/video/D4MbOfxAs1U/видео.html&feature=sharec
Sorry I’m so late to comment Sandro. Once again, as always, such a great resource for detailers new and old. Thanks for all your hard work, and I look forward to your next project video. Oh, and if doing shorter comparison videos or client videos is easier for you, I don’t think anyone who follows you would object to that kind of content. Take care!
@@davidball. I have noticed that. I usually do one side of a car before going back and it’s better. For me I’ve found better stuff, if your shop does PPF I can see where 3D One will be good to have
- I find that it's VERY easy to over use it. On a foam polishing pad I start with four "micro dots" of product on a 5.5" pad, and only reload if needed with to "micro dots". Super easy wipe off with less product. Sometimes microfiber pads cause a enough heat to cause a challenging wipe off, but that's usually if I'm over working it.
@@jdmkidk24- We do PPF and windows tinting in the same shop environment, and the dustless nature of ONE is appreciated by the film techs - which is what I'm going to be trained in next.
S40 can be a good trouble shooting polish to have, but I’ve personally found that 9 times out of 10 S30+ with finish better, though it can dust a little more than S40, both are super easy to wipe off.
Hi Sandro, for the shinemate pads is it worth getting the diamond shaped? Have you noticed any improvement in feel or loss in durability? Are they worth the extra cost? Thanks
I honestly don’t find a huge difference with the diamonds, they perhaps run a touch cooler and may help finishing abilities a little but I wouldn’t say it’s a huge difference.
Great video but the polisher section is debatable...Rupes is the best on the market and the others just copy them. I know that their price is bigger than the others but as you said on the lights section, quality and durability comes with a price...from my experience, if you don't want to spend all that time near a car correcting paint, the best option is the Rupes Mille because doesn't hesitate like a DA on certain parts. Cordless polishers are a more comfortable option but a more expensive one... Regarding nano polishers I just bought myself a Max Shine and is good quality for the price but Rupes nano will always surpass it from every aspect.
Appreciate that and your thoughts and experience there. I’ve been a big fan of Rupes, Flex and Shine polishers, I’ve got loads of reviews on all three brands on this channel. But in the least few years Shine Mate has just been smashing it while the other two brands have been pretty quite. It’s always subjective as to what each detailer or enthusiast likes and prefers machine wise - I disagree that Rupes is outright better, though I have certainly loved many of their past machines and continue to do so. I love competition, it’s what gives us the best new machines at the best price and I’d like to see both Rupes and Flex come to the table a bit more and update their older machines.
Can you do a review of permagard paint protection. They claim so much but there's rarely any information about it. Mercedes apparently only have permagard as their approved supplier for paint protection
Hi I just use the same Made red and orange and it wont polish some of the medium scratch is not to deep ,I want to polish it out but without taking of The clear coat as much, what color of shine mate foam pad what you recommend or would you recommend microfiber pad?
Maybe give the video below a watch as there’s no way for me or anyone to answer what you should use, you need to gauge that when doing testing on that specific paint: ruclips.net/video/6tepA3wjPbY/видео.htmlsi=j62J6ZSllVC1i0fX
Generally speaking I think they will be give or take close - both Ultimate Compound and DA fine are medium or one step compounds in my opinion. I would have to do a direct comparison to say which one has more cut.
It really depends on the paint type and defects as that’s makes all the difference as to which pads I’ll use with each compound or polish. Maybe the video below will be helpful in explaining which pads I use and why: ruclips.net/video/D4MbOfxAs1U/видео.htmlsi=EkOzFtSbvYZhP91V
If they are just water spots, something like Carpro Spotless 2.0 should work well, but if they have progressed to water etchings you will need to use an abrasive car polish or compound
Very nice video, just a little updated info on the PXE80, years ago now Detail Division had accessories for the polisher. A different 3” plate , 2”,1”. It also became the rule of thumb with that unit that you never used the smaller throw adapter for anything but sanding. So you stuck with the 12mm throw for all polishing needs. With the APS backing plates it really opened up the machine for a host of new uses being able to sand with all three sizes or just use it as the micro polisher. Imo the 3” is good but at 2” the PXE80 is the standout imo. 3” machines you can get away with using the shinemate cordless and be just fine, the 2” space however belongs to the PXE80 until I try the new shinemate smaller unit, I know that’s a PXE80 competitor. I know ou didn’t own one so you didn’t know all this but yeah I’ve been using the APS PXE80 accessories for about 3 years now close to 3 years now. A while different machine once you get that.
Hi Sandro, im trying to optimize my polishing kit. Besides 6 inch pads with a 5 inch backing plate would 2 inch tapered to 3 inch or 3 inch tapered to 4 inch be a more useful universal size for the smaller sections? Thanks
Different detailers and enthusiasts prefer different things in their setups, but I prefer using the same size batching plate for the same size pad, and a 3” is probably going to be the best all round mini size to complement your larger machine and pads. 2 and 1 inch pads are also handy at times but a little less used overall.
im using one and dont to some moderate scratch that the shinemate orange and red pad wont take off? would you recommend the blue or yellow foam pad? i think i would only buy one
Hey Sandro, really liked the video. Just curious, have you tried the Carpro pads and how do you feel about them compared to your favorites here? I was recommended to use the Carpro MF and orange pad with ultracut + reflect, but I don't know if I need them since I have some Shinemate pads.
Thanks mate and although I have tried many of the past Carpro pads (and I would say they where quite good but not my favourite) I haven’t tried the newer ones they’ve released in the past year or so, so I’m not sure how they compare to their past ones.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you very much for the reply! I decided to just stick with the Shinemate pads I have, since I greatly trust your judgement with the testing and results you showed. I did notice that the Shinemate foam pads I have are the diamond cut ones though. Were you able to observe significant differences between the newer diamond cut vs standard flat foam pads from them?
It’s honestly not a huge difference between the flat vs diamond pads - diamonds will run a fraction cooler and be a fraction less aggressive but once again it’s not a big enough difference to drastically change the results.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I see, that's great to hear! I bought a complete set of their diamond foam pads, as well as their microfiber and both wool pads. Wanted as much coverage as possible within my budget, mostly for experimenting and having fun. I do have a pad washer which I'll use after each set, so I should be able to reuse without any issues I hope. I will be carrying out my first paint correction and coating next month using techniques I've learned watching countless videos of yours (test spots with different combinations especially). Really excited about it!
Both are great pads and I’m not sure I’ve done a direct comparison between them, but I’d guess the results in terms of cut and finish could be similar, maybe the Scholl pads could finish a touch better and the LC pads cut a touch more. Spider pads can also tend to dust more than uniform flat pads and deteriorate a touch a touch quicker.
Fantastic as usual Sandro! Those ShineMate T130 wool pads look fantastic too. In a direct comparison to the LC HDO Wool pads (my most used), how do they perform? They’d certainly save a lot of $$!
Thanks Jordan and I think the T130’s are very close to the LC HDO wool pads in cut and finish. I don’t feel I’ve had enough time with them to draw absolute conclusions but I’d certainly say give them a go!
nice video like alsways.i got to ask u somethin. Do u know the scratch remover from turtlewax (the one with the clear coat)? If u do Can u put first the clear coat and over it a ceramic coating? Or would the solvent mess with the turtlewax clear coat? Also if u use both (ofcorse with sometime in between) would the paint look better since it would be like a lense? (The bottle may can coat a car). Also can u how should i say that mask streaks or love marks with the clear coat? I couldnt find any videos about it and also didnt had anyone with experience to ask to.
And one more question. In ur videos u say "to maintain the ceramic coating" u mostly use some spray coatings over it like flexwax or gyon. Can u use something else aswell like Fuso (pastwax) or polymer base products ( like polymernetshield)or would that destroy the ceramic?
Unfortunately I haven’t used that Turtlewax product so I don’t know. In regards to maintaining a ceramic coating with a top coat, typically I’d suggest an SiO2 sealant or quick detailer that in essence contains a lighter concentration of the same active ingredients that a more durable ceramic coating has.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing ok got it. Thank u i keep that in mind. I was just wondering because if u use first layer fuso and go later over it with an Spray sealed it somehow destroys the hydrophobic propertys
Thanks for the excellent video Sandro. I personally use S20 black and S2 black. But i might try the 2 NV products you mentioned but they have a big job to do if they want to knock off the scholl products :)
Hi Sandro, Another great vid…. Can you suggest a 1 step combo for correcting a 2yr old Audi Q8 with mostly light swirls. I have some 3D One & uro 50/50 pads? Thanks
Thanks, and being the Audi’s typically have quite hard paint 3D One could be a good choice, but I’d tend to suggest a lighter foam pad (at least to start with) maybe something like the Shine Mate Blue or Yellow foam pads or the Lake County Orange or Blue HDO/SDO pads being that it’s only light swirls you’re addressing.
I’ve got a few video reviews on TW Hybrid products which you can have a look at - I think I’ve liked some more than others so it depends, and I know quite a few detailers do speak highly of them so I’m sure it could be a great option.
Yes I use S40 occasionally. Overall S30+ is better in terms of cut and finish for most paint types, though occasionally some paint types respond better to S40. I would say the wipe off is very easy with both though S30+ can dust a touch more generally speaking.
Hey Sandro, I know I bust your balls a lot. I'm trying to work out what ceramic coatings to offer customers. I've used Crystal Serum Light, Gyeon One & CQ UK 3.0 I'm thinking of using CQ UK 3.0 + Gliss and then eventually doing the Authorized Installer Program, as I'm located in Sydney, I can't just come straight down and do it. I can't find any info whatsoever on its durability, would you happen to know? Or any other options you'd recommend? :) Have you used CSL before? I like its application but I find it lacks gloss a bit. And Gyeon One isn't as durable as I'd like it to be.
I would personally tend to go UK3.0 + SiC, I think that will be a more term combination. I would also suggest Gliss as a great mid-life coating topper maybe after a 12mth followup coating strip down clean and then topper. Durability is a tough one due to all the variables with coating maintenance but I think 2yrs+ is quite reasonable.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks mate, I also managed to finish down the paint I was having issues with. NV Finesse, Speed 4 on my EX605, Shinemate Red - no pressure, spray a spritz of water and it finished perfectly, no holograms.
A large 5” dual action car machine polisher is perhaps the best place to start. Shine mate machine are typically quite affordable, high performing and very durable so they could be a great option- maybe the EX620 5” 15mm could be a good choice.
It’s probably the best value wool cutting pad on the market, cuts very well, the finish is reasonable for a cutting pad and seems pretty durable at a great price point.
Thanks and typically this is revealed when you polish the vehicle: if even minor defects are difficult to remove it tends to be hard paint and if defects are removed quite easily but you are left with lots of compounding haze it’s tends to be a soft paint. Lexus typically has soft paint but honestly it doesn’t change the way you approach paint correction or maintenance, it’s just something that comes to light and with some experience you learn to identify hard vs soft paints relatively easy.
Hi sir, in your opinion, what to choose between Shinemate ex603 and ep803k ? You always use 3” da polisher on edge work, does it mean using 5” da polisher on edge work would be more dangerous as the clear coat on edge is significantly thinner?
Smaller 3” pads are both more effective and safer for edge work compared to larger 5-6” pads - rotaries have the ability to be more aggressive or less safe on edge work but that does mean they have to be with the right technique
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing it’s crazy the shine mate 3 inch polisher is around $180 here in the US vs the rupes 3 inch polisher is right around $300 or so. I think I’ll be picking up the shine mate 3 inch. Looks like it’s a little beast.
Flex PXE 80 Usual excellent video Sandro but a few things worth mentioning about the PXE 80. The quick change mechanism is bloody excellent for changing from 1" or 2" rotary to 3" DA especially when you are getting into that nano part of detailing like a bumper. Extra attachments youu can buy are the 2" plate and extension bars from APS and an extension bar with a collet on the end which is brilliant for cone polisher attachments. I'm a weekend deatailer and this machine can do everything for me and is powerful. The only other machine I have is a 5" chinese badged forced rotation corded machine for those big flat areas. In a beauty parade of an 'only one machine' competition....... this is the one I would take.
Hey mate what's the best all round pad to use with s20 one step compound? I want to ceramic coat a few cars but not sure which pad to use. Should I be using different pads for different cars depending on the paint or can I use one for all of them?
I think you should be using different pads depending on what the paint is like in terms of hardness/softness and the level of the existing defects - may be this video with help: ruclips.net/video/6tepA3wjPbY/видео.html&feature=sharec
Hi Sandro love the video would you say the say the shine mate 605 ex605 is any better than 603. I am just starting out on my detailing journey and just want the most bang for buck machine
The 605 is a large full size polisher, and if you’re looking for your first machine that would be the one to go for. The 603 is a smaller mini polisher which can be a great accompanying polisher to the 605, but not really a polisher to do a whole car on its own.
A macro polisher like the Rupes Nano iBrid or the new Shine Mate EB210 is probably going to be best for more intricate wheels and if they are typical clear coated then like you mention a paint compound and polish with appropriate pads will be the best way to go
Eraser is a panel wipe to remove oils/residue after washing/drying, polishing etc. Essence is a primer/AIO polish used to polish/refine and enhance car paint - it can also be ceramic coated over.
Hey Sandro 👍 I just ordered an EB351-6/21 I've been told I shouldn't have as the 21mm is too much cut and won't finish well when polishing. What are your thoughts?
Sometimes on softer on more sensitive paints a smaller 15 or 12mm throw can help you finish better or easier but on most (90%+) paint types you can absolutely finish just as well with a 21mm with the right pad, compound and technique choice.
I have Rupes rotary which replaced my Flex rotary and i like it better
Seems like everyone has little different tastes 😊
Great video, thanks Sandro 👌🏻💪🏻
Thanks mate and I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and experiences here.
I like the ergonomics/size of eb351 15 better than the Milwuakee M18 15, but the M18 15 is way more powerful!
I have the Milwaukee m18 with 21 mm throw. Like you said it’s a bit heavy but it’s so bloody nice to work with. Really great ergo like you said.
My go to compound. Does cut atleast the same as tlc+ at half price.

Rupes DA white foam - ultra finishing.
Rupes yellow wool with rupes fine polish combo feels sooo buttery smooth
Everyone should make a video like this. So many great testimonials. Thank you.
Really interesting how nv is a premium brand but in ozzy it’s actually affordable while overseas its just not worth the price unfortunately. If only they could expand their supply chain and make it more efficiently
Yeah ive used some of their stuff and love it but at twice the price its rough lol
Yeah it sucks because I LOVE snow+ and purge but the price just doesn’t justify me using it 😕
how much is it in ozzy?
@@addiresells7832I bought nv snow+ foam and nv snow ph neutral was together in a pack for 33 aud.
Thanks Sandro, another video of honest evaluations and positive user recommendations.
Keep up the great work.
Sandro you turned me on to Scholls s2 black heavy one step love it thanks homeslice! From Pennsylvania

Thanks mate, love the honest, straight forward advice. Always a pleasure to watch.
Epic video Sandro.
I take great stock in your opinion. Thank you for all your positive contributions to the detailing community 🙏🏻
Thank you and my absolute pleasure mate.
Thanks for sharing your expertise Sandro! I love seeing your videos.
Thanks Sandro congrats on 200k mate. Keep up the great work, really appreciated.
Appreciate it mate, thank you!
Thanks Sandro and congratulations on 200K 👍
Greatly appreciate that mate, thank you.
Another amazing video by you Sandro always super informative and the video quality is impeccable as always ! I always love seeing your reviews and seeing what you use/have used it’s always really cool to try out products that I’ve not used and I now have an amazing arsenal of NV/carpro/shine mate/shine supply products that I’ve gotten simply from your videos so thank you again for an amazing video keep it up ❤
Great series your helping a lot of people with this
I love your work Sandro!
Another great video. Looking forward to more thoughts on Meguires 210 as a finishing polish.
Always a good day when you upload 😀😀

Appreciate that, thanks!
Looking forward to watching this video this evening! I got a Tornador on your recommendation a while ago and I'm using it for absolutely everything lmao, not just my car
Excellent job we appreciate the content you put out
Sandro, Fantastic video as always. Loved to see the Scholl compounds on this list, I recently picked them up alongside my new shinemate and I've been blown away with the versatility of these compunds. I'm going to be buying those lake country HDO pads you mentioned in this video (both the foam and microfibre).
Great content as always!
Thanks mate and great to hear you’ve been having great success with those compounds and machines!
Would love to hear what your thoughts are on oberk car care polish system
I work with 3d 1 step quite regularly. Such an easy 1 step polish. Easy to remove, easy to apply, finishes extremely well. It is a bit expensive though.
What's the best pad to use with 3D One step? I have tried the Lake Country's CCS Foam Pad (Orange) and still leaves a bit of haze on softer paints.
@@KingRockets hdo pads could help but other than that I’m not to sure
@@KingRockets - Those orange ccs pads were their flagship cutting pads about ten years ago.
Try the white or blck ccs to finish with 3D ONE.
At work, I've been able to finish with it just using the orange HDO pads we have. It's been said that the orange foam is the same as the orange ccs, but I haven't used the orange ccs/flats in ages.
There have been times when I just couldn't finish down with ONE for whatever reason. In those very few instances I will switch to 3D AAT502.
At home I use Rupes line of pads, so their yellow or white foams will get the job done.
Thanks Sandro, amazing video !
Thanks and my absolute pleasure!
Sandro, have you ever tried Scholl Concepts S3 Gold XXL? It was recommended for me to use this on either soft finicky clear or even hmediumand hard paints as well. Then I was told to finish with the S30+
This is of course paint that has some pretty Deep scratches and some other defects.
Appreciate that mate, thank you
Another masterpiece Its a great BODY of work IT's great to see that these are the products you use and love all the time Rather than this it best thing right now Carpro utracut is very good i do enjoy using it Thanks for recommending it to me I have always used lake country HDO pads they work a treat on most paint types Thanks for a great video as always keep them coming IN SANDRO we trust
Greatly appreciate it Bob, thanks as always mate!
For anyone who has been thinking about a new polisher I can’t recommend shinemate. I have the 15/5 ex615 polisher, I love how smooth it runs for the price
I think you mean "I can't recommend it ENOUGH"
Hi Sandro, I would really value your experience with this one. If ranking the Rupes Blue and Yellow foam as well as the LC HDO Blue and Orange on Shine Mates T120 etc scale how would you number them.
This would greatly assist me with making comparisons between the pads.
The T120 is the most aggressive/cut, then the Rupes blue, the yellow Shine Mate, the LC Blue HDO, the LC Orange HDO and the Rupes Yellow.
Hi Sandro, could you please include shine mate blue and orange in the previous list if possible please.
The Shine Mate Blue would come after the LC blue HDO and sit the same as the Rupes yellow
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks Sandro. So far the list is:
Green Shinemate>Rupes Blue>Yellow Shinemate>Blue HDO>Orange HDO>Rupes Yellow/Blue Shinemate.
Could you please place shinemate orange? I predict it would be similar to an orange HDO but would love your professional opinion.
This could be an interesting video topic, comparing the cut/density of modern foam pads.
Yes the the SM Orange is the same grade as the LC orange and Rupes yellow.

Take care!
Thanks and hope all is well with you mate!
Hi Sandra, have you used the Scholl Concepts Spider Pads? If you have, what is your take on it and compared to the LC pads?
Yes I have and they are good solid pads, but may be a little more tuned to rotary use rather than DA, as they do tend to stall a little more.
Is the Finesse a water based chemical?
I’m not entirely sure but I would guess it’s an oil emulsion base like most compounds
So what polish, compund do you like to use for soft finicky paint, especially black
Nv Precision and especially Nv Finesse
Thank you appreciate your had work
Sandro Top Vid ! What is the best interior protectant you have used Sandro??????????????
Thanks and hopefully that will be another chapter in this series 🙂
I love S20 Black. I tried it after seeing you use it. Love the performance and wipe off. 3D one isn’t worth the hype to me after using it
The wipe off of 3D one isn’t worth it to me or I need to polish longer to break it down for an easier wipe off
@@jdmkidk24if you let the 3d sit for a bit it wipes of without residue
@@davidball. I have noticed that. I usually do one side of a car before going back and it’s better. For me I’ve found better stuff, if your shop does PPF I can see where 3D One will be good to have
- I find that it's VERY easy to over use it. On a foam polishing pad I start with four "micro dots" of product on a 5.5" pad, and only reload if needed with to "micro dots". Super easy wipe off with less product.
Sometimes microfiber pads cause a enough heat to cause a challenging wipe off, but that's usually if I'm over working it.

What about scholl s40 as compared to s30+ in terms of gloss and ease of use?
S40 can be a good trouble shooting polish to have, but I’ve personally found that 9 times out of 10 S30+ with finish better, though it can dust a little more than S40, both are super easy to wipe off.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailingcurious to know how does S30+ compared to meguiars ultimate polish. As I'm planning to buy a good polish anytime soon.

I love competition, it’s what gives us the best new machines at the best price and I’d like to see both Rupes and Flex come to the table a bit more and update their older machines.
another brand snob!!!!
Can you do a review of permagard paint protection. They claim so much but there's rarely any information about it. Mercedes apparently only have permagard as their approved supplier for paint protection
I don't polish so not the video for me. Watched it for support and the quality is very good, informative and enjoyed to watch!

Hi I just use the same Made red and orange and it wont polish some of the medium scratch is not to deep ,I want to polish it out but without taking of The clear coat as much, what color of shine mate foam pad what you recommend or would you recommend microfiber pad?

Hi Sandro, generally speaking, does Megs Ultimate Compound have more cut than Rupes DA fine compound?
Generally speaking I think they will be give or take close - both Ultimate Compound and DA fine are medium or one step compounds in my opinion. I would have to do a direct comparison to say which one has more cut.
Hey Sandro, what do you use to give life back to black exterior plastics that look very aged and faded?
Solution Finish is pretty great
Great video super useful!!
What pad would you recommend to cut with Carpro Ultracut?
What pad would you recommend to finish after with Carpro Reflect?
It really depends on the paint type and defects as that’s makes all the difference as to which pads I’ll use with each compound or polish. Maybe the video below will be helpful in explaining which pads I use and why:

Have you tried Oberk sandro? I have a number of the polishes you listed. Labocosmetica makes some great stuff too.
Trying to see what to use for a heavily water spotted car, any recommendations?
A while different machine once you get that.
the 2" on the PXE80 with the APS plate is my most used setup other than my Rupes 15mkiii/Mille

Have you ever used any of the 3D spider pads?
Yes, I wouldn’t say they were my favourites but I thought they were ok
How do the lake country blue pads compare to the Scholl Spider navy pads? Thanks
Great video Sandro.👍 Although after watching this, you are about to become very unpopular with my bank manager.😁
Hi Sandro,
Another great vid…. Can you suggest a 1 step combo for correcting a 2yr old Audi Q8 with mostly light swirls. I have some 3D One & uro 50/50 pads? Thanks
Thanks, and being the Audi’s typically have quite hard paint 3D One could be a good choice, but I’d tend to suggest a lighter foam pad (at least to start with) maybe something like the Shine Mate Blue or Yellow foam pads or the Lake County Orange or Blue HDO/SDO pads being that it’s only light swirls you’re addressing.
what do you think about Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution series product? it is more widely sell in my country...
I’ve got a few video reviews on TW Hybrid products which you can have a look at - I think I’ve liked some more than others so it depends, and I know quite a few detailers do speak highly of them so I’m sure it could be a great option.
hey mate, have you tried the scholl s40? what would be the differences between the s40 and s30+ about gloss, cutting, dusting and easy wiping? Thanks
Yes I use S40 occasionally. Overall S30+ is better in terms of cut and finish for most paint types, though occasionally some paint types respond better to S40. I would say the wipe off is very easy with both though S30+ can dust a touch more generally speaking.
can u review carpro product, a lot of your video polishing did not use carpro compound
Hey Sandro,
I know I bust your balls a lot.
I'm trying to work out what ceramic coatings to offer customers.
I've used Crystal Serum Light, Gyeon One & CQ UK 3.0
I'm thinking of using CQ UK 3.0 + Gliss and then eventually doing the Authorized Installer Program, as I'm located in Sydney, I can't just come straight down and do it.
I can't find any info whatsoever on its durability, would you happen to know? Or any other options you'd recommend? :)
Have you used CSL before?
Can you test out roxstar polish and compound set? It's new on the market.
Would the shine mate polishers be a good beginner machine? I want to start but don’t know where or how to start 😢
A large 5” dual action car machine polisher is perhaps the best place to start. Shine mate machine are typically quite affordable, high performing and very durable so they could be a great option- maybe the EX620 5” 15mm could be a good choice.
Have you tried hdo ccs pads? Worth over regular hdo's?
Yes I have, but I personally found they retain a lot of heat for longer, so for me they weren’t all that great.
Yes, much nicer feel over the paint.
Sandro what do you think about shinemate t140 wool pad?
It’s probably the best value wool cutting pad on the market, cuts very well, the finish is reasonable for a cutting pad and seems pretty durable at a great price point.
Great content again mate, 1 question how does a beginner determine paint type, soft, medium or hard? For me, I now own 2 Lexus cars
Btw, 3” rotary or 5” da polisher, which is more safe on edge work ?
Smaller 3” pads are both more effective and safer for edge work compared to larger 5-6” pads - rotaries have the ability to be more aggressive or less safe on edge work but that does mean they have to be with the right technique
Shinemate EX603 or EP803K, which is more often to be used ?
I personally use the the 603 more often
Have you ever tried Koch chemie products?
Yes, here’s a link to a video:

What do you think of the battery power 3 inch shine mate polisher .?
It’s still a solid and capable machine, but I do think it lacks the extra torque and top end speed of the corded Ex603 3” Shine Mate.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing it’s crazy the shine mate 3 inch polisher is around $180 here in the US vs the rupes 3 inch polisher is right around $300 or so. I think I’ll be picking up the shine mate 3 inch. Looks like it’s a little beast.
Lacks torque. I bought it and wish I didn't.
Flex PXE 80
Usual excellent video Sandro but a few things worth mentioning about the PXE 80.
What scangrip light would you recommend for a diy enthusiast, sun match 4 or the minimatch? Thank you
I would go the sunmatch4, the mini just isn’t bright enough on darker paints to highlight the defects adequately
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you so much

I think you should be using different pads depending on what the paint is like in terms of hardness/softness and the level of the existing defects - may be this video with help:

Thank you for you help it can be quite overwhelming for a beginner!
What do you think of 1 and done?
And for beginner what pads are good for removing swirls on black car
I haven’t used 1 and done but typically just look for a foam polishing pad such as the Rupes yellow foam or Lake County Orange Foam SDO or HDO
Sandro could you suggest anything cheap to quick polish steelis ?
Autosol Metal polish is quite cheap and quite good
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I mean wich tools ?
My steelies are painted I used compound polish , but I probably need some " dremel " like tools
A macro polisher like the Rupes Nano iBrid or the new Shine Mate EB210 is probably going to be best for more intricate wheels and if they are typical clear coated then like you mention a paint compound and polish with appropriate pads will be the best way to go
confused on ERASER VS ESSENCE from carpro. can someone explain please
Eraser is a panel wipe to remove oils/residue after washing/drying, polishing etc. Essence is a primer/AIO polish used to polish/refine and enhance car paint - it can also be ceramic coated over.
Hey Sandro 👍
I just ordered an EB351-6/21
I've been told I shouldn't have as the 21mm is too much cut and won't finish well when polishing.
What are your thoughts?
Sometimes on softer on more sensitive paints a smaller 15 or 12mm throw can help you finish better or easier but on most (90%+) paint types you can absolutely finish just as well with a 21mm with the right pad, compound and technique choice.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you, appreciate it as always. Can't wait to get the machine!! 🤩
Have you tried the ex603 perform with a 5 inch plate?
No I haven’t
