One of your best episodes ever! Elephants are tough to beat but this, is life at sea! Epic. Welcome back and I'm so glad you're safely back in the Atlantic - a milestone indeed. New 'Sailing Nahoa' episodes are the highlight of my Sunday mornings - for years! Fair winds and following seas!
Oh wow! Why did you throw all those calamary??? Its should be fresh fried calamary??? You should have just remove the thin skin, insides, wash it and collect put them in the freezer and fry them with egg, starch and flour, breading, salt and pepper. Stay safe. Please always consider safety first. Always praying for your family to be safe. God bless. Waiting for more great adventure on your channel. Take care!. Again please stay safe. God bless. God bless.
You guys live an amazing life. I can't get enough of your videos. Your kids are gonna have some awesome stories to tell of all the adventures they had growing up. Stay safe and thank you so much for sharing your life and allowing us to live vicariously through you.
Congratz for your amazing top speed record! 👍 8:50 for sore throats, simmer 2/3 bay leaves for 4 minutes. Add a little bit of honey. Squids are so good...I would have made a giant calamari salad.
I have been watching you guys for a few years now, I started at the beginning and I've finally caught up. Now I will have to wait for each new episode, I will look forward to rest of your journey. You 2 are an inspiration to me and countless others. I am looking to purchase my first sail boat this summer and get back on the water after years of not sailing. Time to get back to my roots and SAIL!! Best of luck rounding the tip of Africa and getting back into the Atlantic.
Super exciting. I love the videos where your sailing skills shine. Both of you. I truly love that both of you are great sailors and the sailing portions of your video, are not a crisis in the making; "30-40 knots, not a big deal" lol. You guys do such a great job bring us a long with you. Your kids are amazing and are becoming good sailors each day.
Butter and a quick fry and you would have had a good meal... As an ex-South African, now an Australian, hats off to you and thank you for bringing Africa back to me. Hope you spend a few days out there in East London. Lots of wildlife to see
9:01 I worked on airplanes before, so here is a bit of advice: Most people think they got sick on airplanes, when actually, they got sick after. Usually people don't drink enough in aircraft. Due to the low air pressure and the dry air, you dry out quite quickly. Especially your throat/nose area is heavily strained after flying for a few hours and not drinking enough. The lack of humidty combined with beeing severly dehydrated is making your throat heaven on earth for a lot of airborne bacteria/viruses. To get around this, it is recommended to drink no less than 0.25 Liters per hour of flying. Since I learnt this in flight school, I have not gotten sick due to flying ever again.
That recirculated airplane air is filled with germ. These days, if I had to travel by air, I'd wear two masks! Feel better soon. Safe travels ❤️. You should have used the squid for bait!
Hi guys, we saw you walking at the V and A Waterfont today. Did not want to bother you. Enjoy your time here in Cape Town. Enjoying your videos. Regards Ben
Full respect to you Ben and Ashley. Love your channel and you, your kids. Every video is spetacular but this one was definitely top notch. Exciting and thrilling to watch so can only imagine your adrenaline rush. Your calm demeanor must be so reassuring for the little ones. You both look well pleased and so you should. Amazing! Thanks for taking time to share with us. All the best to you. 👏👍✌️
I used to live in Port Elizabeth and ships have been lost because of very large waves and ending up nose diving and never coming back, with only flotsam found. Caution is key.
Great listening to decision making process, makes us feel like we're part of the "REAL" adventure. Just everyday stuff. living through you. Can't wait for the swing around the Cape...sure gonna be awesome
A beautiful family with Big balls, I don't think somebody can dare to take his whole young family to sail around the world, I watch your videos from Somalia so if the pirates mess with you I'm here to for you guys ✌🏿
I've been watching you guys for years now and I love your family, I ve o n ly been offshore in the eighties working for gulf resources on the Arctic caisson Moliqpaq in an offshore oil patch where the crude oil sample they gave us was so clean you could see through it. Anyways I watch your videos with a longing to return to the offshore b e zuse its so beau out there.
Welcome to South Africa.. Great to have you visit my part of the world. Im from Port Elizabeth . All the best for your sail to the mother city Cape Town
You guys are awesome! I just love you all.. What an amazing adventure I been following you for a long time and can't thank you enough for taking me (all of us) with you.. I feel like I know you like family. Willa is talking so well.. Peace and love Rolf..
@Sailing_Nahoa Oh thank you so much, you're too kind. Could I ask you to pass it onto someone else, I don't need a prize. Your show is a prize to me. TY.
Fear. I love you guys for mentioning it. So few sailing channels do. It’s so reassuring. I aim to sail round the world asap and so few people mention fear. And i was starting to think I was weak LOL.
💖🇨🇦 You always bring me back to a deep, inate reality. Since I was very young, I've always been fascinated and intrigued by the oceans and seas on our Earth. Water in general. I've always known about the Cape of Good Hope and have read so many stories all my life and thinking of you going around it with your little family is so wonderful, scary and Adventurous at the same time. THANK YOU 💖🐻🌏🌠
I used to fish for offshore lobster in the Canyons south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. During night time hauling with all the deck lights on we would attract a decent amount of sea life among that squid. One night we were hauling and we lost the view in the water around the boat. A group of dolphins had honed in on a very large school of squid. All these squid were using our fishing boat for protection of the Dolphin, it was fascinating to watch how they all went from one side of the boat to the other. As the Dolphins started to get close the water turned black as black can be. Naturally we dipped baskets in the water and brought them back in loaded with squid. It was too easy of catch for us that the story is almost unbelievable for us who where there in flesh and blood. You are bringing your children every an education that they will treasure for the rest of their life. Thank you for sharing your life's and adventures. My daughter Nicole just made me a grandfather at 53. Her name is Auriella she choose a 100 Ton yacht captain as her mother and an yacht engineer as father.
So glad you found a great weather window to New London! We hope your next weather window is just as pleasant, maybe sans ink. As always, stay safe out there!
You are an Awesome Family! Adventure and common sense make for living Life abundantly. Just happened to see your channel and wanted to extend my prayers for safe passages, Fair winds and lots of smiles! God Bless you wherever the winds direct you! Enjoy Always
@@SailingNahoa 😆Before kids start licking. Try Echinaforce, I like A.Vogel, about 2 weeks before flying to make your immune system stronger. I like the drops in water, but they make tablets as well. I also always have Tissue Salts no 4 with me. Kids can use it as well. First sign of a sore throat I suck one every 30min. Usually I never get any sicker. When I am to "lazy" or neverminded to do it immediately, then I sometimes end up sick. But I always use natural "meds".
We had to use our "out" this weekend. Definitely understand how important it is to have a planned out! Stay safe you guys. Always enjoy your videos. - Jen & Rob 🇨🇦
Great to see you made it safely. Not a day goes by I don't think about your safety at sea or at anchorage.... but the Cape can be very dangerous. Stay safe
I look forward to your videos each week, exciting times to round The Cape of Good Hope. Tick that off the list ✅ Watching from Queensland, Australia 👋🏼
The ocean from Margate to East London is called the Wild Coast for a real reason, many ships have gone down. Good to see some serious passage planning, something too many neglect to do because its so sunny, until that offshore wind blows. The passage to Cape Town will go well with your cautious weather review and its a lot easier. Expect a challenging west coast passage as your traverse the Skeleton coast. From Deep cove Marina Sidney, recall your visit in 2020.
Hey great video, as usual. Did you miss the military exercises in Richard's Bay? That could have been interesting, right? Probably not with little ones. Take care.
I so look forward to your episodes. I wish I'd knew when you are close to Cape Town, I want to send you a signal when I spot you past Gordon's Bay! I hope you have a marvelous and enjoyable journey to Cape Town. Gone with the Wynns were and SV Delos spent 6 months in Cape Town.
You two are literally all over the place. You are very knowable and brave sailors, teaching your young ones to be the same. I love it!
literally just saw you Ashley in (I removed the location) I had to make a double take . you guys are famous now haha.
Haha. We see people doing double takes and know right away what that means. Say hi. We’d love to meet you.
@@SailingNahoa are you in Cape Town already!? How long will you be here? At Cape Royal Yact club? Would love to come and say hi.🤗

I love you folks for taking us along, allowing us to look over your families shoulder. Big Love Ben and Ash.
Having done most of my ocean sailing on the east coast of South Africa, I have huge respect for your sailing prowess. Well done.
Can’t wait till the kids are old enough to scrub the decks, great video, stay afloat. Cheers

My wife would be grabbing the squid to cook lol. Great bait too. Glad all is going so well!!
I just can't get over the weather / current / seas patterns in that area. One has to really watch you back side ! Thanks for the video !
My daughter made me rewind the squid count several times. Thanks for posting it and making it fun.

I already get seasick when seeing that up and down @9:55... Lord Jesus Christ bless and save you all on your paths!
When flying we take disinfectant wipes and wipe down everything we might touch. Helps prevent us from " catching" anything.
We do that too! And before the kids lick the tray tables and seat belts. Still got sick.
