There's just something enjoyable about picking up movies off a shelf and discussing them with others. I think streaming has robbed us of that for many years, and it's good content to see.
thank you! I think so too. I appreciate what streaming does in that it makes more movies so much more accessible to everyone, but I hope those who love physical media hold fast to that bc it’s dying out!

Great collection. Over 150 titles? I'm currently at around 5,000 or so. (Maybe 6,000 if you count individual films). Keep growing and collecting! Don't be afraid to blind-buy some releases, especially those obscure/rare titles that aren't on streaming services. Also, there's no harm in getting rid of movies you watch and don't enjoy enough to ever revisit or even consider revisiting - such as Cosmopolis - you said that you hated it. I always go through my collection from time to time and downsize even while growing it. Some stuff in, some stuff out. So create a goodwill/trade-in/ebay pile for those titles even if there's not a big turn over every time. Helps with shelf space a bit, too. :)
How long have you been collecting ? Curating your collection is the best way to go. Don’t worry about a number count. I’ve been collecting for about 15yrs - I have about 900 blu & 4K . But its very curated - I choose Quality over Quantity. + 15 for Casablanca - one of my fav. movies
haha I totally collect multiples of my favorites too. that’s a very good point on quality over quantity. my first dvd I bought after leaving home was call me by your name and I think that was in 2018. but I didn’t start rly collecting and buying blu-ray’s until 2019!
@@EmmaRuth13 well, I think Dune, Event Horizon, Casablanca, & The Maltese Falcon - are the only movies I have multiples of. I like more Criterion, Kino, Olive, Arrow, & Second Sight -if you can get it - I only have the SS version of The Witch. Keep physical media going 😎

Last and the tramp 1 & 2... These are not mine, and you live with your boyfriend.😂 Many moons ago I went to the cinema to watch super trooper's with a couple of friends. I sat there bored and frustrated with the whole movie only for my mates to go on about it afterwards for an hour over a beer. A couple of years later I watched it on cable and I was laughing like I hadn't laughed in a long time. For some reason I just got the movie this time round and I'm unsure why, I just put it down to not being in the right frame of mind. The same thing happened watching lost in translation, I watched that with my partner the first time and she was distracting me saying this and that, i eventually turned it off and written it off. Only for it to be on cable at a later point in time when I was on my own and I loved it! Sometimes your head is not in the right place or your not ficused. I'm not saying every movie will be good on a second watch, but they are always worth a second try (especially if you have it in your collection already).

I organize my regular dvds and blu-rays in chronological/release date order and something I do to make it easy for me is make a Letterboxd list.
