I think it’s good to limit your collection to movies you actually enjoy and want to rewatch because your collection will reflect yourself more. Like when you look at your shelf you can think to yourself “yup that’s me on a shelf”, also it makes me feel like less of an insane hoarder
I had to pause this video to type this. As someone who been watching this dude since 2011 I am grinning ear to ear and laughed out loud hard when I saw all those copies of hitch. This video felt like old John and I was right there in the store.
That BvS 4K is probably the best thing you purchased in this haul. It comes with full 1.43:1 IMAX scenes which is absolutely incredible. Great find, John!
The BvS 4K you got is actually the only 4K version that has the IMAX ratio in the scenes that were shot in IMAX. It looks glorious! Can't say the same about Lex :C
I grew to accept Lex over time. Hated him at first but I eventually got to understand what Terrio/Goyer/Snyder were going for with this iteration. He has some great scenes, and a handful of cringey ones.
Man... I know people hate Lex... But, you just gotta look at it as an awkward tech genius unraveling. It really softens the blow when you look at it that way.
I watched no time to die 4K UHD via stream. Just yesterday you bought a Walmart exclusive no time to die BLU RAY. The Blu ray looked so much better than the 4K stream, it was crazy!
Yes John. Take the 4K disc out of the case and put in the that badass superman huge steel case. So $264 for 30 movies comes down to about $8.80 per movie. These are 4K movies which I have never seen so I don't know what I'm missing. I have seen all those movies except Star wars and Clockwork orange. Those other movies are top notch movies that have great visuals. I don't know if I would spend all of that on 4K movies. I like picking up Dvds for about $1 just so I have it. The only upgrade I did was the Fifth element from Dvd to Bluray. I think I would spend on movies I don't have rather than the upgrades, but then again I would want the whole set of movies so I can watch the whole series.
The problem I got with digital on a streaming service is buffering no matter how good your Internet is buffering is always my issue . So physical media all the way
Man I love finding good deals like that. Also, I miss these Flick Trip style videos. I know that there probably isn't as much incentive to make them since the big box stores hardly carry anything anymore, but the Flick Trip videos bring me back to a better time. Thanks!
Great video & Flick Trip, John‼️ It's been a long-ass while since I've seen so many DVDs stacked up against each other like that 😌💿😝 & yes, if I found that many that I liked, I'd pay for them... 🙏🏽 Thanks for giving our movie-loving eyes something sweet to feast on. 💪🏽👀🍿 + 2:59 ... where's that clip? 😼😂
11:00 You have no idea how many times I'll look at a movie I just bought and then question it just like you and realize I already own it. Haha. This moment was surreal to watch cause I know EXACTLY how that moment plays out. Haha! Keep up the great work John! I'm a big fan.
really happy to see another flick trip video the deals you got were pretty good and as a fellow fan of the mummy movies you have nothing to be ashamed of
Yeah similar for me, I’m a completionist with some things but not others. I just can’t justify paying for bad movies that I have no desire to rewatch. Like you said the prequels are watchable on a rainy day. The Matrix sequels? Not so much…
Well John, I too am a physical media collector of films, and if I had that kinda money to spend on those films with that get 3 deal attached I think I would’ve done the same! Are you getting 4k films then replacing your old Blu-ray’s? Like if you had a Blu-ray of Alien, are you getting rid of it now that you’ve got the 4k? I would get it if you don’t, some disc have special features that others don’t. Special features are the big draw for me when it comes to buying Blu-ray or 4k.
I've been obsessed with Interstellar for a week now. It has quickly become one of my favorite movies. I just ordered the 4k blu ray and uhd, and it's the first uhd or 4k Blu ray I've ever bought, cause I usually just stream everything, so I'm excited to see how good it looks and sounds
Sometimes i feel like you buy certain movies not to watch but just to own because if makes you feel good about who you are and what you're doing in life
I wish I had something like Disc Replay in my area (as long as it doesn’t have old DVDs that have been collecting dust forever), at least I have a cool record store in my area that has a decent Blu-ray shelf but half of which I own already on Blu-ray and 4K and the rest are trash movies but they have a surprise or two time to time.
Literally shop at the same mega replay and you can find many steals and a great selection of DVDs... Second to that The Exchange in Ohio is comparable but not quite as good imo
Flickster, you're gonna have to relinquish some of your ironclad "rainy day" theme. Not every film should be watched on such a day, which is fine. Some more somber or involved films should be seen while on vacation (aka the "vacation" motif) since you'll usually have enough extra time to recover from them. Meanwhile, you obviously scored some incredible deals!
i'm also starting to buy more physical media again. especially 4k, because the improvements in picture quality are really noticable. so yeah, like you said, the quality is just better compared to streaming. but another important reason for me is to have my favorite movies available to watch whenever i want to (in the best version i can afford). because i often had that typical negative experience with streaming: i wanted to watch a certain movie and after browsing through netflix, amazon prime and disney+, they just didn't have it there. so i had the choice to buy a digital copy of it. and the digital copy (in 4k) often costs pretty much the same as the blu-ray would cost me (at least here in germany). but it still wouldn't be as good as the physical blu-ray in comparison. after having this experience again and again, i started looking for good deals on 4k blu-rays more often. so my collection, that wasn't growing much for years, is getting revitalized again. :) greetings from germany!
Great Video Man! It’s Always Great To See You Talk About Buying Physical Media!! I Need To Make My Way To Mega Replay If They’re Having Deals Like That!! I Love Watching Your Collection Videos & Keep Up The Great Work!
Speaking of "Jesse Eisenberg doing weird stuff that I hate," just two days ago I bought a big box set of 4K's-- Columbia Classics Volume 2, new and shrinkwrapped: Stripes, Taxi Driver, Sense and Sensibility, Oliver!, Anatomy of a Murder and The Social Network. The Social Network is the only one that I dislike, but IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT ($80). I love these regal-looking studio box sets.
I think you got a great deal! I used to collect movies as a teenager fresh out of high school and i loved trying to get the best deals I could. Seeing this brings me back to those days. Thirty movies for under 300 is great.
I will be buying Blu-Rays and 4K's until the day I die. I will never give into streaming. I'm at a steady 1700+ Blurays right now. My collection maybe more massive than John's. From 2016 I'd bring a back filled with old DVDs to fye and use the store credit to buy buy a nice stack of blurays usually 30-40 each trip I did. My collection grew rapidly just from doing that. I sold my last stack of DVDs I was willimg to give away as recent as October to fye. Like a good chunk of my collection is from fye. Its how I got The Guard, Wanted, The Social Network, Zodiac, Benjamin Button, The Poseidon Adventures, Dawn of the Dead (2004), Unbreakable, The Ten Commandmemts, Gone with the Wind, The Matrix 2, I, Robot, Warrior, Citizen Kane, Waterworld, Friends with Benefits Kung Fu Panda 1&2, Unsane, War Horse, Secretariat, State of Play, Southpaw, Bleed for This and many many more
I'm a bit behind. I don't have any 4K. I upgraded my TV to a Sony Bravia 50 inch from a ______ 32 inch about 3 years ago. I have slowly been collecting blu rays and wow what a nice upgrade. I can't even imagine what 4K looks like. The first blue ray I saw was Maleficent and it was magnificent.
This is the way John. My favourite video in a long time (aside from streams), awesome pick ups too PS. I love pretty much all of your videos, but this is my favourite format.
John you need to check out some of the 4K releases from boutique labels like Kino Lorber, Criterion, Vinegar Syndrome and Arrow Video. They might be a little too obscure for you but things like Flash Gordon, Silence of the Lambs, Uncut Gems, The Beastmaster and so many more - you gotta get beyond the mainstream blockbusters you find in stores.
Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi will always be my favourite Star Wars film because it was the first SW film I saw in a cinema so I can understand your love for the first prequel
Did John double uploaded? Yes, don't get scared now!! Star wars 4k77-83 they are like 75 GB files of the original theatrical cuts which is what I watch. The new 4ks are just ok. Aliens doesn't have 4k because james cameron hates us. Lol
ABSOLUTELY because it's getting harder and harder to find physical media. I think people should stop supporting streaming so they have to keep giving us blu rat and dads. My best buy went from 3/4 movie section to one aisle abd it pisses me off
You should rip your movies into ISO format and then store them in HDD and play through media player like Zidoo UHD. Later if you ever have to sell your collection you never have to worry because you already ripped them on HDD. I have ripped my entire collection on HDDs and watch them using Zidoo UHD 5000 love it.
Definitely put the 4K disc in the special edition case, when I got my IMAX 4K copy of Batman v Superman I put it in the blu ray steelbook I had and took the dvd out, def worth the move!
Fantastic snag buddy never saw someone pick this much of movies in a single day I know physical media quality is much better than the digital one but they are costly in my country one 4k blu ray costs around 30-40$ that's why I prefer digital coz I need a solid number of movies in my collection
I would 100% spend that money, just on Blu Ray though. I wont make the cross over to 4k. Thanks John for the video. I have to return some video tapes. 😁
I'm a couple weeks late to respond to your question about taking the Superman disc out of the one case and putting it into the other, but I say yes do it. That's what I have been doing. Part of my collection is owning the American Film Institute's 100 Best Film's (even though there's some that I'm not that crazy about, I still like to study it as to why it is on the list). Well, anyway I have them all on Blu Ray (a lot are digibooks or have a collector's packaging if offer at the time) and I am replacing them with the 4k editions when they come out, because they are just in those regular black plastic cases (nothing special). Where the Blu Ray editions that I purchased usually have books, postcards, etc. I can't believe these companies (other than boutique labels) don't put more effort into the 4k presentations. Although, they would c charge more than they already do, so I guess there's that.
No Aliens on 4K. You might want to get an app to organize your collection. It will help when you’re not sure if you have a movie already. Great vid, I wish I had a store like that near me.
the video ive been waiting all my life for. JOHN THIS IS ALL WE ASK BESIDES THE LIVESTREAMS
Yes 🙌
Ive tried telling Him this at nauseam.
GEEZZZ YOU GOT A HEART 😁🙌🙌
I think it’s good to limit your collection to movies you actually enjoy and want to rewatch because your collection will reflect yourself more. Like when you look at your shelf you can think to yourself “yup that’s me on a shelf”, also it makes me feel like less of an insane hoarder
That’s how I run my movie review and collecting channel. Showing off the titles I really enjoyed.
I had to pause this video to type this. As someone who been watching this dude since 2011 I am grinning ear to ear and laughed out loud hard when I saw all those copies of hitch. This video felt like old John and I was right there in the store.
I hope I can gain your watching loyalty as I provide lots of movie entertainment content on my channel too that I will think you will enjoy.
I’ll always enjoy these old school flick trip videos.Thank you John 👏🏻💪🏻👊🏻
That copy of batman v superman 4k was recently released and has scenes that were upgraded to the snyder cut imax aspect ratio . Looks great
Lol I paid $50 for that, still worth it. The knightmare sequence looked amazing
That BvS 4K is probably the best thing you purchased in this haul. It comes with full 1.43:1 IMAX scenes which is absolutely incredible. Great find, John!
I enjoyed reviewing BvS on my channel. I do lots of physical media collecting on there too.
The BvS 4K you got is actually the only 4K version that has the IMAX ratio in the scenes that were shot in IMAX. It looks glorious! Can't say the same about Lex :C
Lex really ruined this movie -totally wrong casting. Otherwise it is OK
@@nrg16108 and also this movie is longgg, you also get absolute boredom
@@Lifesizemortal nah he's trying just a bit too hard honestly
Feels good to have not one, not two, but three new flick pick videos

I think you would like my No time to die 4K review on my channel.
@@megamikethemovieman I will check it out
Yes John. Take the 4K disc out of the case and put in the that badass superman huge steel case. So $264 for 30 movies comes down to about $8.80 per movie. So physical media all the way
Exactly especially when the internet cuts off
That’s why my physical media review and collecting channel has become so successful. Check out some of my videos and enjoy.
Man I love finding good deals like that. Also, I miss these Flick Trip style videos. I know that there probably isn't as much incentive to make them since the big box stores hardly carry anything anymore, but the Flick Trip videos bring me back to a better time. Thanks!

11:55 man you're one of the best you tubers, your impressions are the best! keep doing these vids pls
I remember your flick trip and review on that Man of Steel blu ray, and it just hit me how long I've been watching you on RUclips 😂

They might be a little too obscure for you but things like Flash Gordon, Silence of the Lambs, Uncut Gems, The Beastmaster and so many more - you gotta get beyond the mainstream blockbusters you find in stores.
John obviously got that great feeling of getting a good 4K deal. Enjoy the movies
You should buy as many hitch copies as possible and destroy all but one, so that will increase in value.
i did a double take when you called homecoming, no way home lmfao, i was like wait what HOW?!?!? xDD YOU HAD ME SCARED JOHN
Lol
I never thought I'd hear John call his old self "a skinny alien addicted to heroin" lol
Could you make a video explaining if 4K movies are worth it because I've heard that you need to change the tv settings so the movie would look good.
I could make a video like that for you on my channel? Make the request over there in my comments and I will take care of it.
Wow, what is this heaven, haven't seen so many discs on shelves in stores for decades!
If only they weren't all opened and used, I don't buy used.
That really was a horrendous Tony Montana impressions great video
You got some really great movies to add to your collection! That deal looked like it was worth it!
Yes John thanks for the video!! Always appreciate it!
That’s a hell of a deal. If you were to flip them, you’d easily double your money. Good stuff Mr. Pick
Their price tags look just like Disc Replay price tags, at disc replay it’s always buy 3 get 3 on dvds, which are usually priced at 3.33
WHAT IS THAT STORE!? It’s like going back to the 1990’s!!! Amazing!!!! I’m so jealous!!!
I can't wait to start my physical collection!
Hey John what 4K player do you use?
While it's not a bad deal, I'd never buy used discs. I see how a lot of people treat them. I baby mine, so thank you.
I’m the same way on my physical media collecting channel. The movies are the babies.
Damn... if only we had an establishment like that here on the "ROCK" 808's.....I probably go ballistic too...well entertained..
BLESS
Definitely put the 4K disc in the special edition case, when I got my IMAX 4K copy of Batman v Superman I put it in the blu ray steelbook I had and took the dvd out, def worth the move!
This was fun John. But next time, you're taking us out to a fancy restaurant! And I want champagne dammit, UNDERSTAND?!
I might be able to do that on my channel lol
This is what I called a huge movie section in that store.
The John that got me hooked is on this vid! Thanks Bro
"I don't know if I can buy that s--t" - agreed lol
I wish I had a used physical media store like the one that you go to near me.
First time watching one of your vids... but I just subscribed! What store is this??
Love this content broski
You will probably like the movie content I provide on my channel too. Enjoy.
