I played 9 holes in the rain with a new RXS yesterday. No marks or other issues, even though I had to hit it with quite a lot of dirt on for some shots. It's probably the best ball I have ever played.
Good points, I’ve used the tour b x for a while now and they perform as good as anything I’ve ever used. The durability isn’t fantastic but I also found that with all of the new premium balls. TP5s were even worse then the pro V1 was about the same as the tour B x. The brown colouring seems to be unique to the Bridgestone though from whatever they put in the reactiv cover and kind of highlights the scuff whereas other balls actually do the same but you just don’t see it as obviously. I did find that in most brands the yellow balls are actually more durable so not sure if there’s something in that...
Been trying the BX and BXS for the past few months. Love both and didn't like the last version of the BX at all. Long, greatly improved spin, and I haven't had any of the mentioned trouble with durability.
I am definitely a fan of the BXS and the BX. I've done a few mini tests since this video and had some slightly different results with both. I'm not 100% locked in on balls again, but the XS is definitely making a play for my bag at the moment.
I just tried three Bridgestone versions today. BX, BXS, and RXS. I had the exact same results! I hit driver bombs with all three versions (RXS had the longest at just over 280) BUT I was putting groove marks all over these things. The BX was the worst! RXS was next, BXS seemed to be the most durable, but after 18 holes hitting multiple shots with all three, none of them would be good enough to play the next day. Meanwhile, I've played ProV-1's (both versions) multiple rounds with hardly a scratch! Too bad because they were great with the driver!
Performance wise, this is one of the best balls I think I've ever used. For the average player though, I'm not sure the durability matches up with the cost. Still if you value performance over longevity, it's a complete winner.
Yes! Everyone can use a different recommendation to get started. I'm usually asked to try about 10-15 models a year and it's tough to get to all of them. I'm still shocked that the AVX works so well for me, even though I know the B X went farther. The consistency in flight is what gets me on the AVX. The B X was almost too hot at times... good problem to have, but just not what I need. Thanks for watching!!!
Yeah, I'd give them more than a half round testing. The hype is real. They're great balls. *Bridgestone equipment is great too. They just don't spend money advertising to compete with the other equipment companies. However they're all the rage in Asia! Especially Japan. They love their bridgestone and I do too!
So, I took the Tour B X and the Tour B XS out for a real test drive. They definitely held up better, but still not 100% as good as the Wilson Duo Pro or the Titleist AVX in the durability rating. Still, the XS could easily find a home in my bag, as could the X...
Yes, except for the wedges, there was no issue. Unfortunately, for me, about 60% of my approach shots will be the 52° wedge and shorter. I guess I can do another run with them, but so far the three people that I have had talked to that live tested the 2020 balls have all had the same issue. Still, amazing ball, just not where it needs to be for me with the price tag where it's at. I'd be interested to know if you've tried the Snell, Cut, Aris or other third party balls and had a good experience with those as well. That's the type of performance that this cover reminded me of.
@@backinthefairway5771 I have hit a lot with my wedges as well (I am rarely on near the green in regulation), but maybe it is a technique issue. Your technique is probably much better than mine. Still, I have played with several other people that have tired them and they didn't seem to have the issues on wedges either. Maybe something was up with that batch, but Bridgestone does a great job with quality control so that would surprise me as well.
I think the difference may be that I am hitting full wedges in, but I don't know... I think it will definitely be another go round with these bad boys and see what happens.
I have tried them didnt have that issue to be honest played only 9 holes though. Looks like it hit a path would be unhappy if thats all it lasted. In the bag for me replacing the tp5.
Good to hear. As I said the performance of the ball is spectacular, and again, pain scuffing doesn't affect the performance much if at all. Its probably worth noting that I do play a RAW finished wedge at the moment, so that may have made the wear a bit more. Glad you found a ball that works for you though. They really did nail the distance and control part of the B X.
Enjoyed this video! I would like to try this ball but it is too expensive overall at my level of game. Would like to see you on the course more (when the season permits of course) or even in a simulator or range. Discussing what you noticed in your trialing with balls and clubs is very interesting but if you can show some shots or even show us all how you are transitioning and bettering yourself in your playing would be very entertaining. I think it would help your channel overall. Just my .02 cents. Subscribed!
That is what I'm working towards! At least a few hole videos will hopefully be coming soon! I'll see how the Mevo does in a simulation situation and try that also. Thanks for watching!
This is my go to ball. And has been for a while now....and NEVER have I had durability issue like that unless it smashed a cart path. Seems odd. Speaking from a regular user of this exact ball...this durability review is NOT accurate.

I had similar results when I took the B XS for a spin. Bridgestone is doing a lot right with this year's lineup!

I agreed completely. For the record, I came into the game playing Maxfli HT100 Balatas, so even the worst Urethane covers out last those bad boys.

@@backinthefairway5771 Give me 15 extra yards off the tee and I'll putt from wedge distances 😄
My only issue is still the trajectory is a touch high, but other than that, the XS is a beautiful ball

I tried a box of bridgestones once and I loved them, they felt really good, just need to get more!

My driver swing speed is 118. I love the Tour B RXS. Bridgestone says I should use the B XS. However the RXS performs better for me.
