Even the amazing seasons (1-5/6) had the angels act more like..co workers, or just soldiers on the field, not even friends.
Esp in the later seasons, they literally just call themselves sister and brother like "no brother dont kill me" or "sister..we can't do this we are family" "I killed so many sisters and brothers..idk what to do with myself " Like BRO you barely talk when the apocalypse isnt happening..ur literally just soldiers. Idk why you gotta get all sentimental when you're killing eachother even tho you dont care about each other lol.
And I know I know, it's a very different show, a bit darker...but still..good characters can exist in both, so idk why spn doesn't have any anymore.

They do the same when they talk about how angels came about. In season 2 their mom says “When you were children” “when you were growing up” and Lucifer says something along those same lines. But in season 4 amenediel says “We angels never grew up. We just appeared fully formed.”
What we expected from the Angel of Death: Cold, calculating, harsh, brutal. Shows no mercy, and gives no shits

Azrael is, traditionally, the angel of life and death. The pinpoint of the cyclical nature of reality.
She's not there to kill, she's probably there to escort the dead to where they're meant to go.

@mesh team 6ix I think he does. There was a scene in the Crisis on infinite worlds, where Constantine came from E-1 to E-666, where Lucifer resided. Since they knew each other(and they even met personally before, when Constantine brought Maze from hell(for that Luci owed a favor to Constantine if i am not wrong)), we can assume, that either Lucifer or Constantine(or most likely both of them) are capable of interdimensional travel(in Lucifer case, not just Heaven or Hell, but other earths as well). Plus, i am not sure how it works in this case, but i think, that in DC, there is only one Heaven for all Earths(and there is only one Lucifer and Michael throughout multiverse, similar to Presence or darkness, which are now combined(ikr?)).

It is theorized the cold personiality that Lucifer describes of Azrael can be one if not both of these: 1) He was angry that she never visited him and/or 2) the coldness was a result of her blade itself.
He was genuinely sad when she left mid conversation. He had so much more to say to her, and I really hope he gets the chance to say it.
God, I love this actress! Its funny to see the Angel of Death be someone so nonthreatening, but it makes sense. I doubt looking scary would be a comfort to a recently deceased, and thats what angels stereotypically do, comfort.

4:15 Man, so much is conveyed here without needing to say anything. And it's heart breaking.
Lucifer is and probably always will be Azrael's closest friend and sibling. And with Lucifer gone Azrael is unbelievably lonely. And yet despite all that, Azrael is still loyal to their father. They probably feel they cannot allow themselves to truly reconnect with Lucifer until God finally forgives him. Until then, Lucifer is still "the enemy" and thus not to be fraternized with.
Fuck, this series has some good moments.
That is probably going to change in season 6

I kind of love how Tom Ellis insists on acting his heart out even through the most ridiculous scenes. Charlene Yi being the cutest, while Tom out here doing the most with pathos.

One thing led to another, he threatened the Detective's life and was about to kick-start a chain of events to kill her so I picked your blade up and stabbed him in the heart before he could hit the bloody key on the organ. Didn't really have a choice there. I wasn't going to let him murder Mum or Chloe... especially Chloe. After that I buried it with Uriel's body, but Mum thought it was a brilliant idea to lead humans to his grave and let them find the bloody thing. Humans kept getting murdered, the Blade kept changing hands until I finally retrieved the damn thing. I kept it close after that until Mum realised I'd managed to light it on fire for a moment when I was mightily pissed off at her. She and Amenadiel figured out it was the Flaming Sword, the one that guarded Eden after I took a trip to see Eve and all that came after until it vanished in my rebellion. Turns out our father who art in Heaven broke the Flaming Sword into three pieces; the Blade of Death which he gave to you, the Medallion of Life he chucked down to Earth and the Key he hung around our big bro Amenadiel's neck. So eventually we figured out all the pieces, and when Mum was about to go nuclear I united all the pieces and ignited the Sword once more. Used it to slice open reality and give Mum her own universe, that's where she ended up by the way, then I pulled out the Key and threw the Blade and the Medallion through the rift before it closed. So, sorry little sister, but you're never going to so much as lay eyes on it again. Whoops."
Such an adorable angel yielded a weapon that can wipe people out of their existence by crushing their very soul. WOW!!!!

I was literally WAITING for that to happen. Before this episode revealed her true identity I figured since Azrael was a ghost, Lucifer should be able to see her because of his status as the devil.

This is what I really love about the show. It really gives out new perspectives to already established lore. Like you’d expect the angel of death to be cold and stuff but no. In here she is just someone who is just like everyone else just trying to do her job.

so it makes sense that he'd get along with her the most out of all his siblings
also it makes sense why Azrael would be this young looking (i know alot of people didn't like her casting but think about it this way) this could be the way Lucifer has always seen her as his little sister whom was very sensitive and vulnerable hence why she always confided in him

Lucifer loves and respects his little sister. Azarel's the only sibling who overtly loved him even after the rebellion. She's also implied to be strong as Amenadiel; Lucifer saw her appearance at the war as a good sign

Man in season 2, when Lucifer said that Rae Rae was “no sweet peach” I thought she was going to be a cold-hearted b*tch. What I was not expecting was an adorable, awkward, teenager-like lady (despite the fact that the actor is in her early 30’s). I love this show so much.
I like the relationship she spoke of that they had. It seemed like he cared alot about her in a guardian kind of way

Yes but when the choice is between taking them to the afterlife and letting them remain on Earth as ghosts (assuming that's possible in this show, which hasn't been shown yet), it's not much of a choice.

A lot of people expected Azrael to be cold and calculating and whatnot but you have to think of their experiences. Yes death affects people negatively in a lot of ways but after a while you probably will get used to it, and it's not like she was dealing with just the ones that would go to Hell though she did say they tended to be quite morose but maybe it was a few good people and Ella who turned her attitude around, after all, Ella is quite the bubbly positive character in spite of the things that have happened to her. Maybe I'm wrong but not everyone's going to be the creepy scary death person.

I don't understand why somepeople don't like the angel of death. It is actually a very good public job. Without death this world wouldn't be big enough and think about all the souls never leaving us. It is like a freaking nightmare.
I find it very interesting that the angel of death herself gets "False Alarms" about when people are dying.

i think they could just have Tom Play Michael as well as Lucifer i mean they are twin's in the comics.
but Amenadiel has sort of taken the role of Michael in the series anyway.

I like what the writers did with azrael. We assumed that the angel of death would be a big scary being with a scythe but they decided to mess with us and make her look like a teenage girl

That's literally what they're talking about though. This idea came from the genius mind of Neil Gaiman (who also created Lucifer), not the writers for this series
That would have been the perfect look, but not for the personality they wanted her to have.
