I LOVE the overstuffed Journal. It adds to the overall aesthetic to me. There's something about that gator mouth that says - I'm so full of magic, I can't be contained.
OMIGOSH, look at all that gorgeous lace!!! 😍 The covers are soooo beautiful! WOW... I could NEVER make anything that pretty. And I have a TON of laces and embroidery pieces. Fat lot of good THAT does if I don't know what to do with it! 😮💨 Boo Hoo Thank for sharing your ideas and great tips, tho. 😘

Such wonderful explanations and ideas, thank you so much for sharing them. Your journals are all so beautiful. I had to rewatch this as the first time I fell asleep... nothing at all to do with your video.. promise... I'm just exhausted trying to keep up with a 4 month grand baby who doesn't want to sleep lol.
Wow, one of the best videos I've seen yet and I've been watching youtube videos for junk journals for over 3 years, daily (I think that might really be my hobby, lol). Thank you Andrea. I subbed a few days ago and of course big thumbs up!
@@JunkJournalTreasuresByAndrea yeah, I was gonna rob your house tonight but I need to figure out how to put fabric decorations on a fabric covered Bible, I don't think God would approve. PS: suggestions would be great.....please, I'm begging ...
I have never been able to make a journal that wasn't a chunky monkey. Mine are usually hippopotamus mouth....😂😂 I just found your channel and I really love your style!
I am so glad I watched this! I love the way you thought this through, in terms of presentation. You are organized, articulate, and point out the most relevant and useful details of your process. What an outstanding tutorial. I’m subscribing and looking forward to learning MORE.❤
Thank you for following me! And I am going to try and make a video this weekend that shows how not to create the gator mouth! Not with my own but with some I’ve bought. 😂❤😂❤
I have been journal making for 8 or so years now.... and have to agree with you regarding deciding on the size of journal cover and what you want to use it for!!! Like you.... when I first began I seemed to always finish up with a 'gator-mouthed' journal!!! I have learnt from all my experiments and materials used what I use and when!!! You definitely echo my experience!!! Always love what you do.... and gain inspiration in so many ways!! Thank you Andrea for you outstanding videos..... I keep on coming back to see what else you have on your list!!!! I thought I had already subscribed.... but I discovered I hadn't!!! I have now amended that oversight!!! hehehehehe!!! Keep up the good work!!
I appreciate your message! This is definitely an evolution with a learning curve. And then someone does something new and fun and I just have to try it!! ❤️❤️
This is wonderful information! Love your work. I often use velvet for my covers too. Such a lovely material to touch and hold. Interesting... I always started with the pages. Decorating them. Then I work them into signatures, and then make the cover to fit. Never thought about doing it the other way around! 😄
I KNEW I loved you! You are a Stevie Nix fan also!!!! YAS sister! Goodness thank you for making this video. Your covers are amazing and gorgeous! I am saving this to my inspiration library here on YT!
I am absolutely new to this craft but have been drawn to some of the shorts on RUclips. So I landed on your channel and all of this is above my head. I've been doing crafts my whole life. You name it I've done it or am still doing it. The 1st art was sewing because of my Mom. She made us 4 girls most of our clothes. So I've always Loved fabric and lace and buttons. Vintage things and I am so in love with French script and that era. So where and how do I start? I'm not expecting an answer but maybe if I check all your past videos, there's some guidelines for me. Anyway I enjoyed watching this so much and I wanted to touch and feel your journals because they're so lovely.
I totally get where you are. I was there not so long ago. I’m going to be doing some tutorials. Truth is - just dig in. There is no right or wrong. It’s all about just putting things together, up cycling, and doing what you like! Everyone has a different style and each journal is 100% unique. Have fun with it!
This was an amazing video! How did you attach the velvet to the crafftex? Is it just sewn on or did you apply glue as well? Love the stevie cover! I bought a stevie magazine to use for a journal 🥰
I’ve purchased both but had to wash and iron the roll. What you see in the video is washed. Their sampler pack is pre-washed but smaller than I wanted. ❤
One question...do you glue or sew the lace on your page edges? I usually add it last after the signatures are sewn in, so I have to glue the lace down. Also, do you add all your embellishments before you sew in the signatures or after? Trying to figure out the easiest way....
All of the above truthfully. I tend to like Fabritac over stitching fiber lace but chunkier lace I stitch. Sometimes I get impatient or overwhelmed when I’m making a detailed journal so I stop and sew the signatures in so that I stop mixing the pages around and trying to add more. Other times I just work page at a time and then see how they sit together. All in all, I’m a glue girl who likes stitching when it is going to be accents. ❤️❤️
Yep! You should see the gator mouth on my last journal! I figure if you don’t have a gator mouth then you ran out of ideas!! Joking of course but who says a gator mouth is wrong? To each his own!!🙃🙃🙃
Hello My name is Julie and you do awesome work. I would love to talk to you in private message. I was wondering if you have ever done design team work before
My feeling is enjoy the process. Don’t overthink, don’t over analyze, don’t compare, just create….make it your way and no one else’s.
Great advice - especially for us overthinkers. But loving the process is the most important thing!!
I’m very happy my wife has found a hobby for her creativity.
Is your wife the one in the video? lol

I’m not sure how to pull it up on Etsy.
I searched for Vintage and Victorian Little Girls.

I sewed it on the edges but pulled it with quilters clips very tight so it wouldn’t bubble. Thank you for your comment! Hope this was helpful!

Estate sales, Etsy, and people who sell lace on Facebook. Aren’t they fun?
