Christ...I mean... by the Gods, I forgot to do a final sound compression. In any case, 2-3 hours is definitely a bit too long for my daily routine to function. Future episodes will likely be at 1-1.5 hours. I can do longer when things are less busy 🌋 In any case, enjoy!❤

I totally understand the time thing. Real life always comes first for me as well, so no worries here. 😀 Nice I think I went with House Telvanni also. They are very quirky, those Telvanni, but also very interesting. I had forgotten about the haunted "chore". Those two have quite the feud going on, don't they?! 😂 I'm sure though, that the other Houses have just as much drama. 😄 It was fun and I don't mind if you just do chores sometimes, because those chores can lead to some of the best game play. And again, the views were just stunning. That sunset, and the vista from the stair landing.... Wow! 🥰 Tamriel/Nirn are never dull - there's so much to see and do. Great video as always, Cor. Hope you're having a wonderful season there.
      * I must say, I really like Shea's drawing. It's very good and captures Sings-Like-Cor's essence beautifully. Thank you for sharing your artwork, Shea. 🙂

I really feel bad for Sings-Like-Cor. He seems like a decent guy, and yet he has to face racism, discrimination and xenophobia at every turn. Everybody is so rude to him! I hope he can keep his spirits up in this hostile environment. Don't let them get to you, Sings-Like-Cor!

The two moons are Masser and Secunda. Masser's the bigger one (masser = massive). I'd also suggest either enchanting a piece of jewelery with levitation or learning a levitation spell, even if it's unlikely to succeed, you'll use fewer potions by attempting the spell first. Really like the pace, it's how Morrowind should be played.

The thing to keep in mind about the Morrowind Mage's Guild is that they are more motivated by research and scholarship than by profit and the questline and rewards tend to reflect that. Where the Telvanni are very much about personal power and influence by any means. There is a mage ring that boosts int/will as a constant effect as well as a full set of free master level alchemy gear. Neither is too difficult to obtain, but I won't spoil the locations unless you ask for them. Also, I don't know if you recognized it from the other Elder Scrolls games since you didn't comment on it, but the Shrine of Azura was visible on screen at one point. So excited to see how Sings-Like-Cor balances the needs of House Telvanni with his own personal moral code as you progress.

    • @CorCanishPlus
      @CorCanishPlus  10 месяцев назад

Can't wait to revisit the statue of Azura! I haven't seen it in years. And yes, about the Telvanni vs Mages Guild - the latter being like an academic institution would rather see your sacrifice than your success 😅

So on the boiled kagouti front - there is indeed a proverb (I think that's the right word) where it's a frog being boiled slowly. (Am having to watch this over a period of time so I might wind up updating this comment as I proceed)
ETA: Omfg I don't think I've ever actually gone through much of the Telvanni stuff and I definitely have never done the haunting at the Gatehouse but those Ghost-Free Papers are freaking amazing. I full on cackled over it XD
ETA2: I wound up looking up the New Clothes thing in the wiki and yes if you give the Khajiit the clothes she attacks him, BUT if you had 'calm humanoid' and cast it on her she'd calm down and stop. It looks like even if you were successful, though, you'd still only get the 500 gold.

The hostility you ran into in Sadrith Mora is due to you having some rank in the Mage's Guild. The way the faction system works is the higher rank you have in certain factions causes their rival factions to dislike you more. The Mage's Guild and House Telvanni don't get along.

One of the more interesting perspectives I've heard on the Good and Bad Daedra likens it to BDSM, where the good Daedra essentially respect consent, making them good candidates for worship to the Dunmer who would submit themselves to them.

If a spell damages attributes permanently, you need to go to a temple shrine, activate it and choose Almsivi restoration - or go to an empirial shrine and choose attribute restoration. It costs 30 gold, but it will restore everything.
You'll need that information further into the game, because Therana is not the only enemy that will damage your strength.

The way you take in scenery always reminds me to take life at my pace and enjoy the journey, and as a lore nerd who devoured the information through youtube and wiki-pages it is so enjoyable to actually get to have the world being delivered through your narration. Please do not apologize for having episodes more focused on certain parts of the roleplay/playthrough, watching you play is so enjoyable, it's a breath of fresh air that makes me (and your entire community by the comments of your videos) feel so cozy to be on this ride with Sings-Like-Cor.

Ohh, I'm halfway done and this is proving to be yet another fun episode, but I wanted to comment before I finished because I got so hyped over Telvanni Adventures.
As you hinted before, it's indeed a VERY interesting faction story-wise. I find myself super excited to see how Sings-Like-Cor goes about his goals. The two routes you were musing about, basically 1) contributing to the lethal and corrupt methods of Telvanni to gain power and enact change from within (not in his current character) vs 2) circumventing those corrupt methods via his wit to gain power and enact change from within (more within his current character) are both incredibly interesting stories to tell imo. Will Sings-Like-Cor encounter more difficult situations that erode his moral compass and turn him cynical enough to participate in #1, dirtying his claws for the greater good? Or will he be able to resist such potential trials and suffering, coming out scarred but steadfast in his morals through #2? I'm very invested tbh!
Also, as a sidenote, I am indeed tempted to draw the crab now, just because it seems fun 🦀

2nd comment for the 2nd half of the episode:
About the book reading, it is interesting to hear your thoughts (or reactions!) on them. It's also a good refresher on the worldbuilding and the lore which indeed goes deep, it's fascinating but can also be disturbing. Some (in)famous parts of it can be found in one specific (long) book series in the game by the way. Maybe it rings a bell?
So, Mistress Therana. Well the scene speaks for itself. What a nice way to be introduced to the infamous " _Damage Attribute/Skill/etc_ " effect which stays even after the spell/enchantment/potion wears off, so it can only be cured by the adequate " _Restore Attribute/Skill/etc_ " effect. Pretty nasty.
On the other hand, the " _Drain_ " effect should expire at the same time as the spell/etc it comes with. Well, except when you're under a " _Fortify Attribute_ " effect, then it may bug out and you'll have to also use " _Restore Attribute_ " (thanks to the *Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages* for the reminder). Ah, Morrowind and its quirks!
Now it'll be up to the next novice to collect the guild dues from Sings-Like-Cor. The eternal cycle of the Mages Guild!
On a more serious note, how will Sings-Like-Cor be affected by the dilemmas faced while serving the House Telvanni? Which path will he choose, which choices does he have? Stay tuned for the next episode...
Once again, breathtaking scenery thanks to MGE XE, complemented by a lovely commentary thanks to you!

Thanks a lot! Not sure about the book series you're referring to, but we may stumble upon something that really catches our eyes.
      Thanks for the tips about the drain/damage - didn't know/remember that 😊
And yes, I'm so happy to replay the game in its entirety using it. The changes are definitely noticeably, but it still feels like vanilla Morrowind

Been checking for a new episode frequently and the gods were kind! The dilemma of having to fix a slave rebellion as an Argonian that doesn't approve of slavery is going to be an interesting thing to watch Sings-Like-Cor tackle. I really look forward to that. Oh, also about reading all the books personally I don't mind you reading out the ones you want to read. Hello, Cor & Sings-like-Cor! 😊
So happy we can accompany you on more adventures - and through lands most perilous at that...
(You are spitting these out faster than a cliff racer flies - ! 😁😁
Can't stay away from Vvardenfell, eh? We all know the feeling! 😉)
That fanart is utterly delightful!!! 🤩
In-game, a passer-by artist might have been spellbound (hah, hah) by the sight of a scholar deeply engrossed in his research and could not help themselves: such a thought-inspiring scene has to be sketched out, drawn and offered to the subject of the picture himself! No, no, no reward wanted nor needed; it is simply a pleasure, seeing young minds such as Sings' own broadening their horizons regardless of weather 😌
(Important note, of course, is that if scholars in Vvardenfell waited for better weather conditions to work in, they'd never get any research done 😜)
That Guide to Ald'Ruhn was lying there quite conveniently, haha - but it was a nice read!
Yes, the Skar carapace is a fascinating thing 🤓 A shame no other relic like that survived to modern times - as far as I know - but perhaps they did, but were too damaged for such an extensive renovation...
But at least Ashlanders use strider shells as makeshift sheds of sort, methinks.
Oh! And apparently, when Ald'Ruhn was attacked during the Oblivion crisis, the Dunmer resurrected Skar to fight against the Daedra....though it ultimately didn't save the city anyway.
But it must have been quite a sight.
"No, sorry, I'm getting distracted all the time."
*immediately proceeds to get distracted by the goods up for barter*
    😁😁😁
Happy you enjoyed the Invocation of Azura! It really is an incredible book, providing insight into a sphere that isn't really revealed to players to such extent -- yes, there are the Daedric quests to fullfill, but we can't quite see what it is /like/, serving the Princes of Oblivion long-term; only through the accounts of others.
(And the book reminds me of Aranea Ienith, the priestess of Azura in Skyrim! 😊😁)
    Sadrith Mora!
"The Blades are everywhere...nobody knows who they are..."
    *Sings sweating visibly*
Hah, that Telvanni guard is truly....Telvanni. Disposition 24? For such a finely dressed fellow? Tsk tsk. Just you wait, guardsman, before you know it, this limber-limbed lizard will be your lord!
(Though I do wonder whether the guards and the other people there would react better if you already had the hospitality papers from the Gateway Inn...? Because at this point, Sings is basically wandering around without an ID 😅😅)
Interesting: the slave-seller claims only humans, orcs and beastfolk are to be enslaved, yet we do meet Altmer and other mer as slaves in-game, too....perhaps some sort of (in)voluntary servitude because of debts...?
    Hmm...
    Anyway!
I adore the fungal architecture, really. Given the insane spectrum of shapes and colours and ridges and twisting curves various fungi can have, properly explored design variations could be pretty much endless! 🤩
And oooh, think about the /functional/ aspects as well!! Using the interfungal web of connections to relay messages via some sort of electric-related signals (shock spells adjusted to be used as code, perhaps...?), having your house literally make your food or potions or cleaning liquids or what have you thanks to the metabolical genius of fungi...
No wonder the Telvanni are a bit mad.
Interacting with the universe in your living room does that to a person.
    😁😁
    Ehm.
Congratulations, Sings-like-Cor, you have joined the House of your dreams...! 😁😁😁
A N D right off the bat, Mistress Therana comes in swinging!
Yes, I also think the Mouth hired you largely out of pure desperation because the value of the task laid out in front of you still isn't high enough to risk the lives of higher-ranking Telvanni members 😆
But! Sings shall prevail and impress those mages in no time 😎😎😎
Enjoying all those lore books! The Tribunal is, indeed, a can of especially convoluted worms - but the uncertainty of where exactly the truth lies is a big part of their appeal! 😁
And since the spirits of the ancestors apparently fuel the Ghostfence.... let's be honest, that's metal as heck 😎
Hah, Sings is not a thief indeed...
    But!
    1) these are indeed hard times, money is tight and needed
    2) he is infiltrating the Telvanni with his own secret goals in mind, so stealing stuff right from under their noses kinda fits his agenda
    3) it's literally in the Telvanni rules that if you steal it and live to tell the tale, you deserve to have it! 😂
    4) so maybe Sings is even better suited for the Mushroom House than we previously thought! 😁
(Also 5) perhaps the clothes were a part of the B&B package you paid for, honored guest! 😁)
Also also: I usually tend to dress my characters in a rather more practical way, but, by the Three, it's so delightful to see Sings enjoying the robes so much! 😊😊
Weapons-wise: it's good to have something that's enchanted; I think only such weapons (and maybe silver ones as well? not sure right now) work against Daedric opponents!
Plus you are quite correct about the wisdom of having a back-up blade by your side, just in case 😁
But luckily a lack of weapons is /not/ a problem on Vvardenfell 😆
Quick thinking with the skirt and scroll, Sings! 😅
NATIVE BEASTS TRAINED TO ATTACK OUTLANDERS (REAL) (NOT CLICKBAIT)
Honestly, who is paying these guards?! ...oh wait, Therana, probably 😆
    THE SUNSET!!!
Vvardenfell is dangerous and harsh and mysterious but so Tribunaldamn gorgeous -- ! ♥️
    Hahah!
An Argonian among the Telvanni expectations: blatant racism, obstacles at every turn, having to fight fiercely for every ounce of respect to reap at least some rewards
Reality: hey, here's some money for ya. have fun. kill somebody. i don't care.
    😂😂😂
Sings-like-Cor might benefit from raiding an outlaw cave or two; they smuggle a lot of nice stuff and oftentimes you can find a Divine/Almsivi Intervention amulet in there, which is frankly a blessing regarding travel!
The Gateway Ghost quest is bugged in the original game, I think, with the dialogue topic missing in Ulena's talk-window-thingy - had to be remedied with a console command...
Not sure what fixes it for you, but happy to see that it's all smooth sailing for our favourite scaly scholar! 😁
AND THE GHOST FREE PAPERS ARE INDEED A HOOT! 😂😂😂
Vampire anchovies are my favourite, I think.
And Sings-like-Cor just waltzed into town, ignored the frowns of everybody who saw his paper-less-ness, brazenly jumped aboard the Telvanni band-wagon --- and then and only then, as an afterthought, went to purchase the documents which he no longer needed, the threat of Magistrates With Digit-ful Bowels not scaring him in the slightest 😆😆😆
    Epic stuff.
I think he'll fit right in with the T-House.
(And yes, yes, legal documents do need to be lengthy sometimes to account for all eventualities etc., but those Papers are truly horrific 😅😅😅)
LOVE the bribe. She did earn the money indeed!
OH SHIT YOU'RE RIGHT THAT AMULET IS REALLY A BUG WITH WINGS!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Mushrooms...bugs....the Telvanni are really vibing with the cottagecore stuff, aren't they? 😆😆😆
(Check out the Alchemist's Formulary book sometime. It has recipes! 😊)
So - so it was enough to just *try* and deliver the skirt? A task so difficult even an attempt is rewarded? 😮 Fascinating!
Sings is gonna get filthy rich 💰 real quick at this rate; the Telvanni aren't such a bad bunch, eh? 😜
Besides, you know, the utter disregard for man/mer life in general 😆
AND two spells taught for FREE?!
    Incredible.
Excellent job, Sings-like-Cor. Full marks! 😊😁😁
...so Neloth is old and has trouble moving about, eh? Give it some two hundred years, he'll be running around Dwemer ruins like a youthful gazelle 😆
Either it's a ruse to deliberately deceive the other mage-lords into thinking he's weaker than he really is.....or that ointment works some SERIOUS magic and should be sold globally 😜😁😁
And Sings is collecting chores like stamps, I see! 😁😁
Before long, every Mouth in Sadrith Mora will know who's the most reliable hireling in town 😎
(And since my memory of the Telvanni questline is foggy, I am genuinely curious to see if any of the other Mouths' quests trump Therana's ones! 😆)
And oh my, no assassins waiting by your bed, still? Interesting! 😁
    Another wonderful episode! ♥️😊
Yes, taking it slow and steady is the way to win Vvardenfell's heart! (and.....Heart 😏😏 #SixthHouseAwakened)

little fact about the mistreatment from the locals in telvanni
joining any imperial guilds causes the great houses to look down on you, they see you as a imperial lacky for lack of a better word.

I think you could skip the slave rebellion and prioritize the other Mouths' chores. Therana's quests are uh... yeah lol

I don't mind the long episodes, but yeah if you need to shorten the episodes to 1-1.5 hours, that's totally understandable, real life takes priority! Maybe you already thought of it, when you can do longer recordings sessions, you could cut them in two parts to have some buffer, in case you couldn't record at all? Anyway, have to take a break halfway through this one, keeping the other half for later (kinda like a nice sweetroll!).
Yeah, I am still impressed by the interface being resizeable and moveable like that! I remember others giving you the tip about the ability to add your own notes on the local map and the hotkeys features, but there's more! You can keep any of the Stats/Inventory/Map/Magic panels pinned/unpinned to the screen by clicking the not-easily-noticeable button in the top right corner of each of them. And I think you can do the opposite, masking any of them when they're opened by clicking or right-clicking the associated HUD part (stats bars, Weapon icon, minimap icon, and either the Spell or Magic effects icons).
So Sings-Like-Cor gets see more and more how ruthless Morrowind inhabitants can be, after already experiencing the harsh reality of the wilderness in previous episodes. I think Ranis is an exception in the Mages Guild, but the whole House Telvanni is indeed pretty blunt about their ways and beliefs. I'd dare say it's part of what makes them so enticing compared to the other 2 Great Houses, along their eccentricities and their amazing architectural prowess. Though the use of the remains of an ancient creature like the Emperor Crab as a building is also pretty amazing.

Yeeees, that's true about the pinning bit!!! Completely forgot 😨 Thanks!
I may try to split the recordings in two, there's so much to do though

Oh god im at the end of a dungeon on my character and strength got reduced 60 points by one guy. Restores might be needed, im gonna have to mark, drop items, scroll out, restore str, then recall back for the loot 😂

You can increase the barter amount and just brute force clicking "offer" and you can get better prices. Obviously if its TOO high it won't work but with valuable items you can get a little cheeky with it. It will reduce how much the npc likes you but this will reset when you exit the conversation so reason not to try it. For really valuable items Creeper in Caldera is a must or you just get ripped off.

The reading sessions are no problem. I just skip ahead if I'm not interested in a particular book. That said, it certainly extends the playthrough and may be an obstacle if you are trying to accomplish certain things within a timeframe.
