I’m personally not feeling the solo scaling in this fight. Either that or my build is just not strong enough to do any meaningful damage in a single run. I’m using SA and CB btw
It's important to understand the energy mechanics behind this fight; phase 1's flash pods and chained traps are crucial to have enough time to finish a run. Phase 2 can be either mounting abuse or flash strats like Eleven did in this video. Phase 3 is all about keeping him in Supercritical the entire time by any means necessary. Eleven also had good pacing on flinches in phase 3, as none interrupted the dragon blasts when Safi went into Desperation Mode (Safi stops dropping rocks in phase 3 when he hits DM, and only spawns them with the cascading dragon blasts).

Like I said before, my build could be just bad, but I doubt that at full energy on all levels that someone has soloed this thing without lowering the energy in the other areas at least somewhat
Safi goes from 40 k HP in 4 players to 20 k HP when solo, but the depletion of the energy level is still as slow as before (3 quests for only 25% depleted). Solo, you are still looking at hours doing the quest non-stop before you can beat Safi just once, meaning farming Safi'jiiva solo for his armor and weapons is still off the table for newcomer solo players without the PS+/Xbox live. Just move on straight for Raging Brachydios, Kulve Taroth, Alatreon and eventually Fatalis.

I skipped Safi entirely (because I have no PS+) so I had to rely on Beotodus weapons when Alatreon first came out (it worked, but they are definitely too weak for this fight) and I farmed MR Kulve Taroth (difficult when solo because of her dps check + no much luck with Kjarr Alchemy) with Raging Brachydios equipment.

Frostfang weapons are less good than Safi, but if you can't go MP...And Fatalis weapons > Safi ~= Raging Brachydios regarding raw, so skipping Safi entirely is fine, unless solo players are ready farming with 3-4 hours leveling down for 1 kill (that seems reasonably balanced for 1 player, Capcom).

If you read comments you’ll see pretty much everyone is still taking hella long to kill him cause they lowered his hp without changing the energy level mechanics, so it still takes many attempts and hours to kill him just like in multiplayer. I have an overpowered Fatalis build and it still feels just like before the update, not even worth it
They fucked up the solo scaling big time, if someone like Tii Eleven barely manage to kill it with top tier gear after it's scaled for 1p then it must be absolutely horrible for average players who just unlocked the quest, I don't know what they were thinking with this especially when MR Kulve Tarroth is much more fair in comparison...
I Think you dont understand that its still a Siege and not a Kill quest. It was meant to take long and actually to do it multiple Times like old kulve . It was never said to be a Kill quest only a siege that you could do solo and duo
@@christianpiermarini2020 the MR kulve is a Kill quest , you simply get MR kulve Materials that you can meld in the Melder into HR kulve weapons and Upgrade them with MR kulve Materials into MR weapons ! The HR siege kulve is not efficient anymore if you have already iceborne , because it requaries other people to Play with you and you dont get MR Material, for upgrading them ! Hope it explains it , ask more if you like , woulf love to help out
I don't know why, but i'm definitely sure my safi is NOT scaled for 1 player. It's just the regular safi siege. I'm playing on PS4 in Europe. Does anybody else have the same impression?
@@julianlozada8500 i use full safi armor with safi aquashot. It's the classic resentiment set. I actually managed to kill him a few hours ago, but it's been extremely difficult and tight. I also noticed that in all of these runs on RUclips it absorbs less times the energy of each levels and proceeds faster to the lower ones. Maybe it's just a matter of damage output
Awesome run. I though that the update dint came because in my case (Pc) he doesnt die. Can break everything solo but he doesnt die. I did it 6 times in a row and dint die (always healing and never looking that he is about to die) . Idk if i have to post the quest with 4 players (even im only one). Im seeng that in console its possible but in Pc i dont see examples.
It's not just you. I'm having the same impression. I play on PS4 but i'm so goddamn sure my safi is not scaled for 1 player. It just doesn't go down and i spent hours today on the siege. I saw there are a lot of new speedruns where he leaves each area way before absorbing all the energy, but this doesn't happen to me
@@asterannes I see. Man, i Just wanna have fun and Hunt him without thinking of possible disconnections from other players. I think you have to play in a very close perfect level of skills so you can Hunt him. But seriously, idk.
@@asterannes I use Raging Brachy GS with full attack boost 7 agitator 7 focus 3 crit boost we 3 crit 7 and my dmg output is the same if not even higher than in the video and I almost spent 15 min on stage 1
Is this after the update that scales Safi for solo players? As it still seems like a long grind for what's probably classed as little return now, especially if it takes more than a single run.

Nope. Other runs do the same thing. I haven't looked into the code or anything, but I'm fairly sure that what triggers Safi to move to the next area is health remaining. Thing is the healing happens after all the damage was dealt, but Safi can't start healing until the floor and boulder trap have finished.

Emphasis on the full energy solo. This would not be possible from the old safi. Even Tii would have to drain his energy to zero before attempting a solo run on safi. The fact that it is possible at full energy is quite a big change. 😊. Im not sure if his old vids do have a solo run at full energy pre-safi patch.

3 minutes in and I am confused. The "Kjarr Strongarm Crusher" charge blade has 180 in Dragon Element. But there were also 600 points of blast damage and electricity that is either paralyse or thunder element? Does the charge blade's impact phial type and phials loaded allow it to have the different effects once you load the phials into the shield and sword?
If this was scaled for 1p, this should have been around 5 minutes for you, I’ve also seen recent solo videos from players with op builds with fatalis weapons beating him around the same time as solo playthroughs months ago.
Hope and Pray. Get better wifi, but that doesn't always help. PC's connectivity in the US is pretty terrible. For a real possible solution, only connect with those in the same language. Does work perfectly, but may improve things a bit.
hey man, check the augments for the weapons, there are several, one of them is health regen, wich is basically as you said, lifesteal, to be able to put augments on weapons they should be at their max level of upgrade (last upgrade on the tree) otherwise the weapon wont be able to have augments

The only difference is that it has less HP.
It becomes clearer once you lower the energy levels (which tecnically should be easier to lower too).

All elements have the same HZV to Safi if I remember correctly, though dragon has a slight edge with elder seal (idk how this works on him though)
