I remember when there was a shortage of lead from mining so to make sinkers in south america , so my dad went to my uncle`s auto shop and got a bucket of used spark plugs and we used those as our weights for a while !
With the aluminum block you could drill all the way through and then make a bottom plate similar to your slip sinker mold. That would allow you to pour from the smaller end and make a back bouncing weight with a flat bottom.
I pour plaster of Paris into a cigar box. Put the sinkers you want to make into the wet plaster and let it dry. Pull out the sinkers and you have your mold. I drill holes of different diameters into the remaining dry plaster. These make great drop shot sinkers. You can use it over and over again.

That was great. I bet that lure sinker would be great when trolling in deep water (lake, ocean or even fast moving rivers). I just think it would tow along better, with less resistance and keep your tackle down where you want it.? But what do I know....I live in northern New England...and our necks a pretty red. 😂😂. Awesome design and DIY. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
You can save a little more money by making your own wire rings by using pliers to shape scrap wire you have laying around or even find on the streets. Like paper clips or even copper wire if concerned with rust. Instead of buying brass rings.
I agree , i started to use a paper clip but I knew someone would say I was going to rust . But honestly , I got mine for 2.80 for a 100 . And that's not that bad really . But your right still
That is awesome! Man it'll be great if you can make worm/bullet weight molds as well. There a shortages with this style of sinkers at most tackle shops.
Same style as this, just use a drill bit the diameter you want and drill it as deep as you need. Then drill a small hole through that the same size as a metal coat hanger. Insert the coat hanger through the hole, coat the mold and wire with a light coat of oil. Pour your lead into the mold and let it cool, then slide the coat hanger out of the weight. You will be left with a good bullet weight in the end. You can use wood for your mold and make many of them in the block of wood, just repeat the previous directions on every hole. Final step, enjoy your new weights and catch some fish👊
@@BUBS_HD im trying to understand what you mean with the drill bit...but i kinda get it. I'm to attempt something as well. Goodluck Fisn n stuff! Hope it works for you as well. Im sure you'll get tons of hits if you nail it.
@@frankiev-tech4630 use a regular straight drill bit the diameter of the weight that you want. Then drill it in as deep as you're wanting your weight to be, deeper for heavier or shallow for lighter weights. The diameter of the bit will be if you're wanting fat or skinny weights.
Cracking zinkers. If you cut wood in half or the alloy then clamp them toghter and then drill the hole. You will have no trouble getting weights out can also put the eye in the pointed end 😜 👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁🤞✌️
Try sand casting. Just push the point of the sinker into some tightly packed slightly damp sand, in a small box or even a plastic container. Remove the shaping tip carefully, and pour in your hot lead slowly. Add the wire stirrup before the lead solidifies. The sinker might be a bit gritty on the outside, but do the fish really care? Nah... they love it!
Wonder if you could make a mold using dirt/clay packed in a styrfoam cup and use an existing pyramid weight to make an impression/mold shape ? Bet it would work

Awesome video ! Do you have a sliding line SINKER design to stay put in heavy current ? Thanks
No but I was think about that on the next video
Well the next hack video
Where did you get the lead melter?
Thanks from one Okie to another for the awesome videos!
IM WAITING FOR AN AIR POWERED BAIT LAUNCHING CANNON, LOVE THE CHANNEL
Believe it or not , ive been thinking about do it lol . I think the gas ones are illegal so I don't want to get ppl in trouble. But I was talking about that with a friend just the other day
Really love your Intro Bro'...."soooo stick around".
Lol thank you
Another awsome idea thank you !
What an awesome video . Works really good. I really like the Srepbit sinker cause I catfish a lot . May I suggest using a #6 swivel in the top as a connector , ( you can set it up just like the connector you used ) and it will help in preventing Line Twist . As before ; Great Job , love your Hacks .
Yes Sir. Thanks for watching and commenting. Means a lot
As always nice job
That was great.
I bet that lure sinker would be great when trolling in deep water (lake, ocean or even fast moving rivers).
I just think it would tow along better, with less resistance and keep your tackle down where you want it.?
But what do I know....I live in northern New England...and our necks a pretty red. 😂😂.
Awesome design and DIY. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
Thank you brother , obviously my necks pretty red too lol

the cheapest and best is old wheel lug nuts, just add a piece of wire to get your hoop and drop a little led in the center! boom!
But your right still
That magnet trick !!! 🥇
That is awesome! Man it'll be great if you can make worm/bullet weight molds as well. There a shortages with this style of sinkers at most tackle shops.
I'll try and figure something out
Same style as this, just use a drill bit the diameter you want and drill it as deep as you need.
@@BUBS_HD that's a great idea man . I'll try that one
You will have no trouble getting weights out can also put the eye in the pointed end 😜
👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁🤞✌️
Try sand casting. Just push the point of the sinker into some tightly packed slightly damp sand, in a small box or even a plastic container. Remove the shaping tip carefully, and pour in your hot lead slowly. Add the wire stirrup before the lead solidifies. The sinker might be a bit gritty on the outside, but do the fish really care? Nah... they love it!
Wonder if you could make a mold using dirt/clay packed in a styrfoam cup and use an existing pyramid weight to make an impression/mold shape ? Bet it would work
You can
Very interesting!
I wonder if you soaked the wood block in water for a few hours if that would extend the life of the block and cool it faster.
It might .
Man that's a couple great ideas. I made a wood mold before and it worked pretty good for a long time. Keep the videos coming brother. I'll text you later about an idea on another mold.
Thank you Sir I appreciate it
Awesome video man!! Great stuff!
Love your ideas! Keep them coming!
Pretty cool. I was wondering if you could use silicon
No Sir it didn't seem to effect it at all
Some pretty good ideas see if you can do some made like a pencil white that would be cool
Pencil white ?
Ol did you mean pencil weight maybe
Hi friend ; Fix all cement fast dry is a good mold it easy to do and cheap , you can make 50 or 100 a time . that's what I done . thank s .
