Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari took a shock victory in Melbourne as Max Verstappen in the Red Bull had his first DNF of the season. F1 now moves onto Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix which has moved from its usual October Start to April which means it is time for my preview and predictions. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc despite looking strong in practice was unable to convert that into pace for the grand prix as he was beaten by teammate Sainz. Sergio Perez could not do anything either to capitalise on Verstappen's DNF.
Mclaren looked a lot faster as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were able to take the fight to Leclerc and going into Japan I anticipate that the high speed downforce prowess of the Mclaren will make it so they are closer to Ferrari yet again.
Mercedes could be really struggling this weekend as the high speed downforce is where they are currently struggling and George Russell and Lewis Hamilton will be going into this weekend hoping that Mercedes have some sort of answer otherwise we could be seeing Mercedes fall behind Aston Martin in the constructors championship.
Yuki Tsunoda will be entering his home race with all of the momentum to try and take RB further up the order after a great race in Australia and Daniel Ricciardo will need to step up and improve.

Lap 10, corner 12: Ricciardo spins, crashes into Perez who had a grid penalty dropping him out of the top 10. Safety car comes out. Tsunoda(who qualified 8th, promoted to 7th) is coming round the second last corner, so VCARB pit him and get him out without losing position. Front runners pit as well, bringing Yuki up to second place. Sainz undercuts Yuki on second pit stop, dropping Yuki to third. Max wins. Sainz P2. Yuki finishes P3. Tsunodium. Home crowd goes wild. Red Bull fires Checo, signs Yuki for 2025. Yuki wins 2025 WDC, retires, opens restaurant, gets three Michelin stars. Doesnt elaborate.
That would genuinely be crazy if that happened. Honestly Ricciardo having a spin is not crazy given current form it feels like
@MrPulseF1 everything in my prediction is possible, except the VCARB reacting to changing conditions with a masterful strategy 😅
@@Comrade_Jason Sadly that's true 😂😂
One of Ferrari strategy clowns is now their TP so... No podium for tsunami
As per 5 minutes ago the weather forecast for Suzuka is telling heavy rain on race day... 😬... qualifying and the driver will make the difference ... can't wait !
Yeah thing with Japan is the weather forecast can and does change very quickly, we shall see 🙈
My top 5 is the exact same as yours but I honestly think piastris race pace is just as good as Landos already, it’s just his consistency that lets him down. He was quicker than Lando when both were in clean air in Melbourne, although Lando did have a quicker lap. I also think Leclerc seemed angry with himself after Melbourne and will not take Carlos beating him lightly and will take a bit of inspiration from max with Checo last year.
I think Piastri is definitely getting there, personally I think in terms of a stint he is a little slower but definitely closer than last year. Yeah I agree Leclerc will not be Happy, he was ahead in all of practice then beaten to the win
In Australia, Julian Palmer's analysis of GR's crash clearly shows GR's driving incompetence by ignoring Alonzo's different approach & then Barrelled 'full tilt' into the most dangerous set of turns at that track that caused him to lose valuable team points & destroyed his car.
After 5 seasons in F1, how GR is still racing, in F1, is one of the biggest mysteries on the current driver line up........... Even De Kock would have done a much better job, than GR, if he had GR's car to drive!!!!
Yeah I'm surprised he couldn't read it better and really him crashing was his own fault
I hope Carlos does really well. He does not deserve to be out of a drive for 2025. I am not that impressed with Hamilton. He dresses like a rapper instead of a racer.
I agree with Sainz, I'm sure there is at minimum a seat at Sauber for when they turn to Audi but there could be a seat at a top team like Red Bull and Merc for him, hopefully he gets something good
I just hope for points for Williams. It was really tough in Australia after that crash in FP1 for Alex and having to take Logan out of thr race as they only had one car. 2 P11s in a row for Alex, he has been so close to points. I am hoping he can score points this weekend and also hoping that Logan's confidence wont be knocked from the team pulling him out of thr Australian GP
Yeah I think Williams main worry right now is Haas have improved the car but luckily for Williams they are more likely to bring upgrades compared to Haas who don't have the staff for many upgrades
@@MrPulseF1 i hope it will be loke 2023 with Williams, thry bring a big upgrade and this pulls them through. Like Canada last year
@@helenballinger5213 yeah I can see Williams being able to do something like that as well
I hope we can see McLaren and Ferrari get amongst Red Bull. It has the potential to be really exciting if they can
That would make it super exciting if that happened
Expect McLaren to be strong, Merc may struggle with the high speed corners.
Yuki will be super motivated at home .. more pain coming for Danny Ric.
Another shunt for Williams would be challenging on their production team ..
Yeah I think you've hit the nail on the head with that. I agree with all of that
Most underrated content creator
Ahh mate thank you so much I appreciate it a lot ❤️
Ferrari and Red Bull are bringing upgrades this weekend. Imagine Ferrari again gets 1-2 and Red Bulls upgrades don't work as they expect . It would be so hilarious cause they are going towards a little bit of zero pod design 😂
That would be pretty funny 😂 it would be perfect for Ferrari 😜
Verstappen
Leclerc
Sainz
Piastri
Perez
That would be a great result for Oscar. I hope he has the race pace to match his quali pace in Suzuka
I am surprised you did not rate Oscar higher on your predictions for race results. I rate him higher than Lando.
I think over one lap I would rate Piastri higher but he is still just behind in race pace I feel, he is getting there though
No room for the 'rookie' when all the 'pros' race in Suzuka
@@MrPulseF1 also there is team orders that would likely favour Lando
@@MrPulseF1 why would you rate him higher on one lap? i genuinly love oscar but i dont see this pace from him even in melbourne in q3 when they both put their lap together lando was still nearly 3 tenths quicker
Melbourne is pronounced Mel-bern
Sadly I agree, Red Bull will dominate this weekend with Verstappen 😢
Good video though, I hope Leclerc can get amongst it still
It's the right circuit for Verstappen and Red Bull to be honest
Leclerc will crash.
@@josepbenet3694No
@@josepbenet3694nope not really, Perez is crumbling anyway
Albon will beat LH in qualifying and race. Stupid George who still doesn't know he has a crappy car will crash again.
That would be great for Williams, there's a chance they could be decent this weekend as well
1. Lewis
2. Norris
3. Piastri
I have a feeling it would be a crazy race for that to happen
1.Max
2.Charles
3.Sergio
4.Carlos
5.Lando
I think carlos will beat checo
Same top 5 just a different order, I like it haha
All those predictions will be all down the drain if it’s a wet race
Yeah that's true, right now it is looking like it could go either way. I am assuming dry
1- Verstappen
2- Leclerc
3- Perez
4- Sainz
5- Norris
I see we have the same drivers just a different order
Max will DNF again and Hamilton will get lucky and break his winless spell.
I like your enthusiasm, but I have no idea how Hamilton wins this one
Our prediction. Max; Checo; Carlos; Lando; LH; Charles. The Ferrari's are still no match for the mighty RB car's, in their current form. GR will, most probably disappoint the Mercedes team again as is his F1 history shows..
Hamilton top 5?!? 🤣
Slow George will be surely ahead again like in 6th or 7th.
I'll be surprised if Hamilton is top 5 due to Mercedes struggling at high speed
@@MrPulseF1 As an oF1 fanatic, we have learnt to never under estimate the Mercedes team ........... even if they have a major weak link (GR) as part of their team.
Mechanically their customer teams have proved that they have the speed to compete with the best ............ so ......... it's only a question of time before they master the down force distribution & tire degradation problems for LH.
Unfortunately Gr seems to get worse when the car improved. ha-ha
@@midas7394 you sound more of a merc fanatic than anything when say to never underestimate Mercedes while all we've seen in the last 3 years is just a flop after another.
@@alexcepile1420 Cards on table: We want a repeat performance of the 2021 season rivalry. ha-ha
Alonso was cheated in Melbourne. Anymore cheating and I will stop watching F1.
I think he deserved a penalty...but 20 seconds was definitely harsh. 5 or max 10 seconds would've sufficed.
I agree that Alonso didn't deserve a penalty
Dude, as if your viewing or avoiding matters😂
@@arjunnair8037 yeah my issue is he was given 20 seconds because Russell was caught out and hit the wall, if Russell just had a trip through the gravel nothing would have happened
You cared to comment anyway
