New organ donation law is a victory for Tennesseans with disabilities

  • For all too many people, there's only one thing determining life or death: an organ transplant. People with disabilities can be organ donors, but the National Down Syndrome Society says despite federal protections, people with disabilities do not receive equal consideration for organ transplants. But on Thursday July 1st, 2021, Tennessee families who have loved ones with disabilities took a step forward with a new law.
