Finding The Way: Becoming an Adult with a Developmental Disability in Iceland

Finding a first job, moving out of a childhood home, navigating college life, falling in love...becoming an adult comes with a variety of challenges and opportunities for all of us. But for those with developmental disabilities, like autism, this period of life can be particularly complicated.
Throughout many countries, transitions from school to work are often quite fragile for individuals with disabilities. Finding the Way tells the story of what this journey into adulthood looks like for some in Iceland, through the eyes of individuals, parents, doctors, scholars, educators and others. It also highlights the work of several groups in Reykjavik striving to raise the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities.
