Another awesome day! Glad to see all sides of the hunt... when the wind and weather aren't cooperating or the Bulls just aren't heated up despite being nearly the middle of September. These are all real scenarios that are experienced by most of us during one hunt or another. Elk hunting is usually tough in one regard or another! Most of the time, it is many things working against us at once. Although this can be soul-crushing often times, when it all comes together, and the "magic" happens... there is nothing else like it on earth! #whywedoit

My husband will be making his fourth trip this fall to Idaho to try and fill his Idaho Elk Super Tag. Corey and Dirk gave him great advice as to what units to hunt and who to contact. He has seen more bulls in his 3 trips down than he has seen in his 50 years of hunting but has held out for "the one". He is going to make one more trip down and is hoping to seal the deal. He knows what he wants and has not wavered. Thank you Corey, Dirk and Donnie for your inspiration.

Not sure how many days he has left there, but that one 6 point that gave him an opportunity at 44 yards would be rather tempting. I don't think I could resist, but I have NEVER been elk hunting and our trip out west to Idaho for mule deer/black bear was my first western big game trip. I can't afford to pass up such an elk after 6 days. There is lots of meat on the hoof there, plus its about the experience not the overall gross antler score. But I applaud his restraint and confidence to get into an even bigger one.
