Fun fact: The face Amity made when she saw Luz destroying the tunnel of love is the same face she made when Grom riped her note. She was literally seeing her worse fear becoming a reality.
I don't know if you understood the owl beast part, just in case, this is what everyone interpreted from that: The owl beast wasn't a curse. It used to be a creature completely independent, until SoMeOnE hunted it down and transformed it into a curse. Therefore, Eda is not the only one suffering, the owl beast doesn't want to be a part of Eda either.

The tunnel of love is a common attraction at theme parks. It isn't always called "Tunnel of Love," but basically it's a slow boat ride through a dark, chill channel. Basically it's a ride designed for making out.
@@jennifermedicus2735 yeah, they're dieing out. They were huge in the 50s and such, and are going away, but are such a huge cliche everyone knows what they are.
@@jennifermedicus2735 Just to add to what Mike said, their necessity declined with changing societal norms. They were mostly to allow non-married people to engage in physical affection in a more public setting than was permitted (which included, believe it or not, holding hands). These rides have either been changed to more kid-friendly themes or outright torn down, though some do still exist.
I have never seen one in person and I live in the USA. I have only seen them in cartoons, comics the movies and an episode of The Prisoner. The Prisoner is an old English TV show so the rides might also be found in the UK.
29:57 People tend to see this as Amity stealing Luz's confession. My headcanon is that this is the moment when it finally _hits_ her that Luz likes her back, and she means it like "Wait, are you asking me out? Is that what is happening??" ^^
that would elicit excitement and a lapse of thinking and just following the impulse. because if i'm right luz is her first romantic relationship considering her talk with her sister a few episodes prior. she hadn't learn romantic cues or understood her sexuality. tbf she's what 14/15 by this point in the story i doubt any of us knew anything about attraction or romance at that point either. she likely thought is this my cue to ask?
Fun fact: King's mouth was suppose to articulate as he talks (just like it was open in WEH) but Dana thought it was too hard to animate and decided to keep as it is today
These aren't spoilers, just a couple things to note in Eda's dream: - The last part where she's the Owl Beast is actually the Owl Beast's memory, not hers. - Notice how the Titan skull in the background is different from the Boiling Isles Titan. It's been stated that all landmasses in the Demon Realm are Titan corpses, but the Boiling Isles is the only fully intact one. - According to the episode's end credits, that moon person is called "The Collector". There were a ton of theories about who and/or what they were and why they turned the Owl Beast into a scroll. - Debate also abounded about whether or not it really was mere happenstance that Lilith _just happened_ to end up with that very scroll when she wanted to curse Eda.
TRUE THAT - out of ALL the spells she COULD have cast on Eda for a day (supposedly), did she just randomly decide "I'll just go with an Owl, cause' I like owls"?
@@CarlosGuzman-vi9xw maybe Eda already liked owls? i mean, she probably already had Owlbert at that point, right? since presumably them going for coven tryouts was during/after their last year at school?
@@soluna4784Hi, super late response, but Eda only got Owlbert after the curse! Idk if these are spoilers or not, but she mentioned something about how she wanted to embrace the owl image for herself and turn it into a positive thing instead of something negative, so she made her palisman an owl
@@dumb_lesbian666 could you tell me when that was mentioned? That makes sense, but it doesn't address what I brought up, that the timing seems confusing Why would witches get their palismen after coven tryouts? Wouldn't coven tryouts be during or after the last year of school? Aren't their palismen supposed to be part of their magical training? Shouldn't they get them only partway through school, not right before the end? And for anyone entering the emperor's coven, they had no time at all with their palismen before they were handed over to Belos. That would still be devastating, but not nearly as much as if they'd grown up with them, which would make more sense anyway. It's fairly minor of a timeline confusion but still it's weird to me.
@@soluna4784 you know, I’m really not sure 🤔 I was certain it was in one of the later episodes of season 2 where Eda might’ve mentioned it to Luz, but maybe it was something Dana revealed as canon outside of the show itself? Like in one of her livestreams or something But to answer one of your questions, I checked in season 1 episode 19 and neither Lilith or Eda had staffs in the coven tryout where Eda forfeited. They just used their own raw magic. So I think Eda did carve Owlbert after that. Idk why it was later though, that was probably something they did in the past and they just recently changed the curriculum or something. Belos is a lot different than the previous principal, so who really knows You have a good point though, the timeline is a little confusing
The best part of ANY reaction to this episode is the ending. Everyone is on such a high of Hooty appreciation, and then that scene slaps you in the face. The sheer rage and exasperation. It's hilarious every single time. Everyone making that episode must have been laughing so hard putting that ending there.
Funny how two of my favorite Luz lines are also the shortest. So much had to be packed into teeny little utterances. Fantastic job by Robles. Escaping Expulsion: (wide-eyed and bushing) "Uh-huh." THAT was the moment she fell in love. This episode: (tiniest little nod) "Mhm." This poor useless adorable sapphic. What an absolute ball of anxiety. If she opened her mouth, she might scream the real answer and then Amity would hear and, ironically, it would stop being a problem!
First of all, I can't wait to see your reaction to Harpy Eda and the Lumity scenes. Secondly, I love how everything here comes together to make a perfect episode. King's segment provided the comedy, Eda's gave us the lore and emotional moments, and the Lumity segment was everything fans wanted. And it's all thanks to Hooty!
We aren't trolls, we're just trying to make you feel what we felt when the episodes were released. Literally everyone (except exactly one person that I know of) assumed that this was going to be a filler episode. We went in completely blind, and the emotional whiplash made me rewatch the episode twice to make sure that all of that actually happened, and I hadn't just hallucinated the past twenty minutes.
I love Hooty and I still thought this was just going to be a light-hearted episode. Until I realized that the day of, the description was still incredibly vague.
I love the depth we go into hootys backstory in this episode. Then we discover he's actually been the main character the whole time. then in the finale he kills belos. idk why ppl think it's a filler, it's the best episode of all time from this series.
You clearly missed the time I didn't know what I was doing and set one up a week before it was meant to drop. Coz imma idiot LOL And then last time I forgot to set it to premiere and did it 2 hours before LOL
i love that eda's curse is almost portrayed as a metaphor for mental illness when she pushes her loved ones away and hides her struggles instead of letting them help her. and the fact that she says it's all the owlbeast's fault but many of her problems were a combination of the curse AND her not seeking help. and then the learning to accept it as a part of yourself.
Yeah, part of what I love about how Eda’s curse is that it’s portrayed in a way so that pretty much anyone with some sort of persisting health problem can relate to it- even people who are friends or relatives of someone like that can see themselves in Eda’s.
The thing is, initially, it wasn't a part of her, because The Owl Beast was an independently sentient creature that The Collector transformed into the curse which Lilith bestowed upon her sister.
(At 15:55) looks like this is how the Owl Beast got turned into a curse. Seeing _this_ tells me one thing that Eda neglected to realize for 30 years: She's not the only one who DOESN'T WANT to be here.
What a thumbnail! The famous Hooty episode It's hard to pick favourites in a show like this, but this is definitely in the top 3 of my favourite TOH episodes
Fandom Lore Time: A Reddit user posted the SEA version (South East Asia dub/cut [commonly referred to as the "Taiwan version", as the Reddit user posted the version that they saw in Taiwan, but it applied to the entire SEA region]) of Amity kissing Luz in "Through the Looking Glass Ruins", and they were heavily cut, removing the kiss entirely, and making it seem like Amity was embarrassed for no reason, and leaves as the episode abruptly ends. Later, they posted the SEA version of Amity asking Luz out, and because it was a much more important moment to the story, they had to mistranslate it, rather than cut it entirely. Instead of saying "Do you want to go out with me?" SEA Amity ends up saying "Do you want to dress up and travel with me?", a phrase that has become a meme in the community because of its utter absurdity. Several jokes have also been made about this particular phrase, mainly the fact that "dressing up and traveling" sounds exactly like something that someone would do immediately after leaving their closet.
Nuggies and fries! Also if you haven't watched Kipo and the age of Wonderbeasts, I'd love to see your reaction of it, but it's completely up to you, also these reactions are adorable
In light of the events of this episode, the only possible conclusion to make is that King is, in fact, not a demon, but is instead a Pokémon. Hooty did have "Pocket Monster" marked as "?" on his chart, after all. King says "Weh" all the time, so that's probably part of the name of his species... He even learned Hyper Voice! With how strong it is, he's probably a Normal-type, too... It all makes so much more sense now!
Codes: "Seething seas and puppet strings. He no longer" "SEEK THE K" King's voice powers are actually portrayed near-identical to how Hyper Voice is in Pokémon The Series, apart from the unique gold-yellow-blue color scheme King's powers have. So, that's what I went with! Yeah, that was an episode! Somehow we've got more world building that just leads to more questions about King, development for Eda, new powers for both of them, and the whole thing with Luz and Amity, and somehow it's all in a 22 minute episode. And I think we can safely conclude that Hooty is, in fact, the most powerful demon living in the Owl House. Seriously, how did he make that tunnel of love...?
I'd say ground type, since he's clearly a Boiling Isles variant Cubone. His Vocal attack is either the egg move Screech, or Hooty somehow got him TM49 Echoed Voice during the lesson
Every time we see a new reaction to the Owl House begin, certain episodes we wait eagerly for them to come across. And we smile knowingly that we have a new fan to join us in this amazing show.
The first "Tunnel of Love" ride was in _Canals of Venice_ in London, but to really took off in the US which had a lot more amusement parks. Being a slow, dark, enclosed 6+ minute boat ride, it allowed unmarried couples a little more privacy than would have been acceptable at the time (and apparently couples learned they could extend the ride by grabbing an edge at various points). Some parks embraced the scandalous use, others put staff with plastic bats in the shadows with orders to smack any bare posterior that floated by. They quickly disappeared after the 1950s, as cultural attitudes towards pre-marital intimacy became more relaxed, and there are now less than 10 in operation.
OMG!!! Yesssssss :D Finally! I cannot fathom how much I’ve waited but too bad it’s after two days but anything is worth it at this point. Mosco never disappoints me with her reactions. Of to finish the Edas Requiem Episode reaction!
Yeah we were all a little bit mad at Hooty for eating the letter, but it turned out to be a really good thing he ate that bug because it was actually a spy bug from the Emperor’s Coven and now they’re just getting insight into Hooty’s horrifying digestive tract. That’s why there was that poster of his insides on the wall, it was a clue! The letter was necessary collateral damage.
Someone mentioned that the reason why the owl beast attacked dad was cuz of the light. It’s been shown it hates light, and it seems like that came from the light attack before it got captured by the moon hood guy.
Tunnels of love are *technically* a thing in America, but they're mostly outdated. They used to be more common, but people kept doing... inappropriate things on them, so they had to hire random teenagers to sit in the corners with flashlights to make sure that nothing was going on on the boats. After that, the main appeal of being alone with a lover in the dark was kinda taken away, and they fell out of fashion.
As was pointed out, horny couples would eventually start having intercourse on the lazy boat ride, which actively constitutes public nudity/indecent exposure, which is, obviously, very illegal at most family-oriented theme parks. This thereby provides a tangible excuse as to why the rides had to eventually be regulated & monitored. Yet, having someone in the corner of your boat watching you to keep you from going too far would, naturally, ruin the entire mood for any aspiring couple, since the whole idea was to be able to make out privately on the ride without getting caught. I mean, the tunnels of love were made specifically for couples to basically make out on, so directly hiring people to keep the ride chaste & pure outright undermines the entire basis for such rides even existing in the first place. Kind of like the stupidity of police arresting people for getting off inside of a porno theater (what happened to Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Ruebens in 1991).
Tunnels of love were a carnival ride back in the 50’s/60’s in the US. They fell out of popularity but the idea of them remains as part of popular culture. They were real.
It's not that they fell out of popularity, it's more over that standards changed. I mean, lazy boat rides entering darkened tunnels weren't originally devised for couples to make out on, but once couples started doing that almost immediately, that's where the tunnel of love terminology originates. However, as people became more promiscuous, horny couples would start having intercourse on the ride, which would constitute public nudity & breaking the law of indecent exposure, which explains why those running the rides felt they had to be eventually regulated & monitored by outside parties. However, unless you are an exhibitionist and/or voyeourist, having someone in the corner actively watching you to make sure you don't go too far publicly & to ensure you maintain the wholesome chasisty of the ride ultimately ruins the whole idea of making out on the ride in the first place, which is what led to their decline & falling out of favor.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh Every bit of that is made up. People became more open about public displays of affection so stealing kisses in the dark was no longer a thrill and the rides died out. You're strange scree is entirely fictional.
We're not trolling, we're just sharing the fandom memes with you. S2E8 being "just a filler episode" comes from various reactions to it, namely the "I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOING TO BE A FILLER EPISODE!!!" type and people pretending it WAS a fun little breather episode in the middle of all the drama. "Steve (the random guard helping Lilith find the bloom of eternal youth in that one episode) is the best/most important/secretly the main character" is rather self-explanatory. "Oh Crikey"--which I'm sure you got a lot of streaming this episode--comes from a fan edit where that's Steve Irwin's response to the final scene from Through the Looking Glass Ruins.
(6:49) The chart says “Pocket Monster.” Dana was being sly about that since she herself loves Pokémon and was also the one that served as inspiration for King’s and Palisman designs.
Ok now I can finally share an idea about Amity. She is not only a romantic but her love language is physical touch. In the memory episode the picture Amity initiates the hug, however, after that day she chooses to not show her positive feelings towards people she cares about to protect them. ie Willow. So she does become touch deprived, but her siblings are exempt from that because they live with her, so physical touch and annoyance. Along comes Luz who does not behave in ways she can predict and acts in ways she secretly wishes she could, AND is a very touchy person too. Willow on the other hand is more of a person who values time spent together, and thus adjusts her expressive methods to match what others need or are used to.
OHHHHH really interesting points! Currently taking a break from editing episode 9 where I talk about Amity communicating in the "Acts of Service" love language which is my love lanague too!!! I would love to discuss and debate stuff like this, I find it fascinating
@@WeeLassReacts Im glad to hear you are taking breaks. Yes, Luz being sick. I felt it was more a "learned" thing kinda survival related to her relationship with her mom being all about deals and opportunities to be useful. Thinking of the Amity 'helping' with the product demonstrations and her trying to prove she is an awesome girlfriend. Although they did get closer in the Library and Memory episodes while they fixed things together. I grew up with brothers and guy friends, because I found the bitchiness annoying. So didn't feel comfortable with physical affection until I met friends who were very physically affectionate peeps. So I feel some of these love languages can be learned too.
The Tunnel of Love is a real thing in America; it’s just a romance themed ride at carnivals and fairs. You ride in a little boat, usually shaped like a heart or a swan, that runs on a track through shallow water. Lots of folks use it as a chance to make out lol, but it’s just a cutesy little ride.
I actually think that Hooty’s way over the top response at the end of the tunnel of love was probably the only thing that could’ve salvaged the night. Otherwise Amity would’ve just left and then her and Luz would just be apart, stewing in their thoughts. Hooty accidentally fixing another thing after making it worse.

Mosco- Tsundere is the word for that type of character like Amity. One that starts out hard and gradually reveals a softer side especially to the people they like 20:05
The Tunnel of Love is an old attraction for carnivals and such, you don't see them as commonly anymore; and I think originally they were just some slow boat ride through some random themed stuff like a history of the area tour or something but as they became popular for making out or even older couples just relaxing together for a short boat ride they combined it with the much older romantic boat ride image *the whole take a rowboat out into a pond where the man and woman can be alone together to serenade*, so the boat rides started to have the hearts and cupids and such. It is a common trope in cartoons and shows, not sure how common it is anymore though.
They weren’t wrong. It was about Hooty’s family. But I guess it is hard to remember that he is the home Eda, Luz, and King come back to. And Home is where the heart is.
Gosh I was excited for this episode reaction and it did not disappoint! I loved seeing you freak out over the adorable lumity moments! But this episode is also around the time they found out season 3 was shortened, so the large amount of lore drop could be due to that if I'm remembering correctly anyway. Fun Facts: Amity had been wanting to confront Luz about the kiss but always chickened out in the end, confirmed in a crossover reading with Amphibia. There's a lot of neat extra tidbits the crew members drop during hiatuses and it was great, so I can share what was revealed between episodes if you want. There's even some deleted scenes in certain episodes
@@hasshbrowns8079 You can find it on RUclips, a lot of fans have made fan animations of it just search up Owl House x Amphibia table top reading, something along those lines anyway
“Are Tunnels of Love a real thing in America?” Yes and no. Some amusement parks have them as as advertised but really any boat ride that includes a dark tunnel are sometimes used by couples as a tunnel of love as in… fun things to do in the dark. They install cameras and plant ride attendants to prevent that. I should clarify the official ones are well lit and just kissing, cuddling, hand holding.

Yay! We're at the Hooty episode! :D And as much as I know that your reactions to the Eda and Luz sections will be AMAZING... I'm also excited to see your brain chew on the demonology in King's section. What did you take away from that, hmm? :D Once you're caught up on the episodes, Dana did a charity livestream where there were three audio-only segments played, one of which was Lilith's reply letter to the one Hooty wrote in this episode. It's great. :D (So are the two other segments, one from Luz and one from Hunter.)
The code word for this episode is 'Longer', leaving the message at 'Seething Seas and Puppet Strings, He No Longer-' Also welcome aboard the Lumity is canon train!!!!!!! A little thing to note, the spells that caught the owl beast were the same colors of the popper that Eda's dad set off, which makes sense why it triggered it. And the titan skull in the background was a different one than the Isles. Also I LOVE that everyone's reaction to Harpy Eda is 'I'm not a furry, BUT' 'Eda has two hands' lmaoooo almost spat out my drink.
Everyone in the Fandom and outside of it thought this was just gonna be another Hooty episode or filler when it first released, but man were we so, so wrong and in the best ways possible!! Each storyline with Eda, King and Luz was done so well and truly showed that even "filler" episodes could be great and memorable ones!! This was the episode for sure I think that Lumity started to take off more and grow in magical and mostly healthy ways! Who knew Hooty could be so helpful, but it's also good that he's never allowed to do that again! What we found out about the portal was interesting, but amongst all the cuteness a much bigger and darker plot is slowly unfolding. Be warned, It. Will. Shock. You!!
The entire episode was massive progress for Hooty, to the point most everyone could say "I at least tolerate, if not actually like, him." and then...The ending.

I just watched the full reaction on patreon and you did not disappoint 😂 loved your reaction when you realized lumity was about to happen. The fact we got them in a relationship with so much of the show still to happen is better than what we get for most kids shows. Let alone having an lgbtq couple in the show for multiple episodes.
About the tunnel of love, they’re sort of real. They were theme park attractions, where you basically just ride a paddle boat through a themed tunnel. It was a popular date night kind of thing for a while, and teenagers would use them to sort of have an excuse to make out and spend some alone time with their partners. Which ended up being a pretty good marketing tactics for the parks. They sort of died out overtime and now they’re kind of a rare site, but they’re pretty well cemented into our cultural memory.
Ok so a few things about the scene with the owl beast in Eda’s dream: first of all, if you look at the background you’ll notice a giant skull in the sea, but it doesn’t resemble our titan. Second, the credits for this episode have a new voice actor for a new character listed, “The Collector.” We all assumed that was the mysterious figure with the moon and stars robe. Also that crescent moon inside the hood strongly resembled Amity’s new necklace, not sure if that’s relevant. And third, that final memory was actually the owl beast’s memory, seemingly of getting captured by that collector person, and somehow getting transformed into a curse. Then the scroll washed up on the shore of the Boiling Isles and was picked up, made it’s way to the night market where Lilith bought it.
I just commented this on your community post but imma go ahead and paste it here. Doing a premiere for the season 2 filler episode is a choice…oh wait, I can drop the act. I’M SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU REACT TO MY FAVORITE EPISODE OF THE WHOLE SERIES! Seriously, it was so incredible watching this episode for the first time. It was midnight, because The Owl House episodes were available OnDemand before they premiered on TV, and no one thought this episode was going to be a big deal. Based on the title and the summary we were all sure it was going to be as filler-y as episode 8 of season 1. Then it ended up being the most important episode to date! When I first heard Luz say Amity’s name I had to pause the episode and run and get snacks because I just knew she was going to be showing up in the episode. It’s my favorite one to see people react to. In fact, it was Not-So-Average-Fangirl’s reaction to this episode that got me into watching reaction videos in the first place. I’d never understood the point of reaction videos before, but I loved this episode so much that I went searching on RUclips for any videos about the episode and her reaction came up so I thought, “heck, why not?” and now I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched that video.
"Eda has two hands" well, for now. I'd totally forgotten they showed the Spider staff that gets used on her later in this episode, the foreshadowing is insane on rewatch.
This is why i love watching reaction videos; I can re-experience things i love as if it were ky first time seeing it. And God am i happy to re-experience THESE TWO CUTE LOVEBIRDS
It's so good to have a series where the main characters dating is not the endgame but a part of the story. Also Luz and Amity's story is better written than most fictional straight couples'.
I just binged all your OTGW, GF and Owl House reactions, I can't wait for you to see the time travel episode, it really puts all these clues into perspective that they have been dropping, especially "imposter" Luz
Tunnels of love were a classic staple of carnivals, amusement parks, and fairs during their boom. However, as time went on, most of those have closed down or removed such rides that generally had more maintaining costs than revenue so mostly they remain in memory or the rare ride thats still open or recreated for events like prom or something on a small scale
Even in the US, tunnel of love rides are far more common as a comedy bit than as actual things people interact with regularly. They were more common back when public displays of affection (especially between unmarried couples) were socially unacceptable.

That's how it seems to me too.
@@Wright805 Glad I'm not the only one!
that makes a lot of sense!
that would elicit excitement and a lapse of thinking and just following the impulse. because if i'm right luz is her first romantic relationship considering her talk with her sister a few episodes prior. she hadn't learn romantic cues or understood her sexuality. tbf she's what 14/15 by this point in the story i doubt any of us knew anything about attraction or romance at that point either. she likely thought is this my cue to ask?
I didn't realize there was another way to read that until just now, I thought it was just assumed that was what was happening. 😅
Fun fact: King's mouth was suppose to articulate as he talks (just like it was open in WEH) but Dana thought it was too hard to animate and decided to keep as it is today
I prefer it this way!!
We do see it open in the season premiere when he eats the little critter Luz caught for a bounty

These aren't spoilers, just a couple things to note in Eda's dream:
- The last part where she's the Owl Beast is actually the Owl Beast's memory, not hers.
That makes sense, but it doesn't address what I brought up, that the timing seems confusing
Why would witches get their palismen after coven tryouts?
Like in one of her livestreams or something
But to answer one of your questions, I checked in season 1 episode 19 and neither Lilith or Eda had staffs in the coven tryout where Eda forfeited. They just used their own raw magic. So I think Eda did carve Owlbert after that. Idk why it was later though, that was probably something they did in the past and they just recently changed the curriculum or something. Belos is a lot different than the previous principal, so who really knows
You have a good point though, the timeline is a little confusing
The best part of ANY reaction to this episode is the ending. Everyone is on such a high of Hooty appreciation, and then that scene slaps you in the face. The sheer rage and exasperation. It's hilarious every single time. Everyone making that episode must have been laughing so hard putting that ending there.
Ah yes, the Hooty episode that everyone thought was going to be filler.
Are we going to love or hate Hooty in this episode?
Yes.
Funny how two of my favorite Luz lines are also the shortest. So much had to be packed into teeny little utterances. Fantastic job by Robles.
Escaping Expulsion: (wide-eyed and bushing) "Uh-huh."
THAT was the moment she fell in love.
This episode: (tiniest little nod) "Mhm."
This poor useless adorable sapphic. What an absolute ball of anxiety. If she opened her mouth, she might scream the real answer and then Amity would hear and, ironically, it would stop being a problem!
Hooty eating The letter at then end is like setting the audience back to normal we can’t love hooty too much
Thankfully, that guy wasn’t King’s dad, he just wanted to sell King a time-share on Skull-Head Island, so Hooty actually did King a favor here.
The disappointment when I realized it was a scam made my heart drop through my stomach. Kings distress nearly killed me.

"Okay Alex, in this episode we're going to need you to say 'weh' like it's a super power."
Hirsch: Challenge accomplished.

When Luz's thumb gently caresses Amity's hand, it's so heart-warming.

I love the depth we go into hootys backstory in this episode. Then we discover he's actually been the main character the whole time. then in the finale he kills belos. idk why ppl think it's a filler, it's the best episode of all time from this series.
It's been hidden in plain sight all along, since Hooty is the titular character!
There's that episode where we flashback to Hooty finding the first Owl House. That fight between Hooty and the first demon was crazy!
Dang, this is probably one of the longest countdowns for a premiere I've seen on RUclips. So much hype to be had!

i love that eda's curse is almost portrayed as a metaphor for mental illness when she pushes her loved ones away and hides her struggles instead of letting them help her. and the fact that she says it's all the owlbeast's fault but many of her problems were a combination of the curse AND her not seeking help. and then the learning to accept it as a part of yourself.
Seeing _this_ tells me one thing that Eda neglected to realize for 30 years:
She's not the only one who DOESN'T WANT to be here.
What a thumbnail! The famous Hooty episode
It's hard to pick favourites in a show like this, but this is definitely in the top 3 of my favourite TOH episodes
Fandom Lore Time:
A Reddit user posted the SEA version (South East Asia dub/cut [commonly referred to as the "Taiwan version", as the Reddit user posted the version that they saw in Taiwan, but it applied to the entire SEA region]) of Amity kissing Luz in "Through the Looking Glass Ruins", and they were heavily cut, removing the kiss entirely, and making it seem like Amity was embarrassed for no reason, and leaves as the episode abruptly ends.

Its nice to know that everyone always has the same reaction to watching this episode, no matter who they are 💕
Alex Hirsch talking to and yelling at Alex Hirsch is so funny to me (he plays king and hooty)
Codes:
"Seething seas and puppet strings. He no longer"
"SEEK THE K"
King's voice powers are actually portrayed near-identical to how Hyper Voice is in Pokémon The Series, apart from the unique gold-yellow-blue color scheme King's powers have.
@@AnnaMno1 I think normal/dark fits better, with the thoughts I've had on it since then.
"Hooty you big wormy -" XD That's amazing.
OMG!!! Yesssssss :D Finally! I cannot fathom how much I’ve waited but too bad it’s after two days but anything is worth it at this point. Mosco never disappoints me with her reactions. Of to finish the Edas Requiem Episode reaction!
I can't wait to see this reaction to a Hooty episode. All Hooty. Nothing else. Nothing happens other than Hooty shenanigans. Nothing at all.
This whole episode is a masterpiece.
And the ending is just the chocolate on the cake, "you don't need it, but you want it"
Yeah we were all a little bit mad at Hooty for eating the letter, but it turned out to be a really good thing he ate that bug because it was actually a spy bug from the Emperor’s Coven and now they’re just getting insight into Hooty’s horrifying digestive tract.

You know that Steve Irwin was dead before the owlhouse first aired, right?

28:49 Eda being the best mum ever!
Also there was no way she could lie about him helping her. She had to ask Amity out to calm him down, there’s no pretending she did it.

Also welcome aboard the Lumity is canon train!!!!!!! A little thing to note, the spells that caught the owl beast were the same colors of the popper that Eda's dad set off, which makes sense why it triggered it. And the titan skull in the background was a different one than the Isles. Also I LOVE that everyone's reaction to Harpy Eda is 'I'm not a furry, BUT'

Everyone in the Fandom and outside of it thought this was just gonna be another Hooty episode or filler when it first released, but man were we so, so wrong and in the best ways possible!! Ah, yes. Luminati, my favorite ship.
"Eda has two hands"
well, for now.
I'd totally forgotten they showed the Spider staff that gets used on her later in this episode, the foreshadowing is insane on rewatch.
I loved when Hooty said "It's hootin' time" and hooted all over the place. Truly one of the moments of the time.

Omg I'm so excited for this one!!
Me: Hooty, the entire fandom will sing your praises! (Hooty eats letter) and you blew it.
