I literally tear up everytime Camila says "Who knew I had such a strong girl under my roof?" Like.... I don't even have mommy issues why is it hitting so hard
same, it just, it just hit ya know
I always hug my rainbow dash plushie when that line comes up. Also love the icon, it is very fitting for your reaction.
@@bdk336 Omg you're right, she definitely has mommy issues 😭😭
as a transfem person that sentence feels very validating

"I'm the good guy here!" "Yeah, a lot of bad guys say that." Such a great quote.
Because a true mark of being good is locking people who haven't harmed you in cages
All of us with even a little bit of Latino ancestry know to instinctively fear _la chancla._ I love how Camila isn't even wearing it, she keeps it in her purse like it's pepper spray or something.
Thanks to the internet, I think even those of us without any Latino ancestry have learned what it means when la chancla is brought out!
the white equivalent (at least in my area) is the wooden spoon. *war story flashbacks*
@@possumprince My siblings and I grew up with a Latina grandmother and an Irish grandfather. We have an hereditary fear of la chancla _and_ the belt.

Fans: Creepy Luz! Destroy them!
After Yesterday's Lie
Fans: PROTECT VEE AT ALL COSTS!
Just like:
Season 1, Episode 18: Lilith must die!
Season 2, Episode 4: Don't go, Lulu. We love you!
Just like how no one liked Amity up Grom, and then from on, everyone loved her.
Remember that for those of us watching it live there was a 7 month gap between this episode and episode 11. It was legitimately painful.
RIP
But just FYI Its been 6 years and I'm still waiting on the sequel to Yuri on Ice.
Trust me... I KNOW patience
That was a painful wait
@@WeeLassReacts Finally someone who understands my pain, yes! I watched Yuri on Ice in grade 7 and now I'm in my final year of High School 💀
@@Hobi_Noodle_Soup I watched it Freshman year of high school and I’m nearly done with college 💀
It was a tough hiatus, but I've had practice enduring such things. We had to wait like 17 years for the Invader Zim finale! (It was worth it.)
The moment Vee cries "Let me out!" while trapped in that cage hits so hard. She's so precious, I would protect her from all the pain of the world.
For me, it's "Who knew I had such a strong girl living under my roof."
@@MWSin1 I loved that line, it really shows how strong, caring and supportive she is. Luz is so much like her mother in that sense.
Vee is so precious and Michaela Dietz does an excellent job voice acting. I love how we were all so scared and untrusting of "Creepy Luz" until she transformed, and then we all wanted to protect her.
The whiplash of how we went from WHAT THE FUCK to- PROTECT THE BABY
Is a sign of incredible writing!!
@@WeeLassReacts Indeed it is.
incredible writing + adorable character design, I might add
The flashback of Vee with the rats, man... nameless, in chains, probably starving, and she turns around and shields them...
Oh look, it's raining again.
@@dz1_randomviewah Hey, who left this bowl of onions here?
The "who knew I had such a strong girl living under my roof this whole time" kills me every time, I cry.
Camila really is the best mom. That scene where she takes in Vee never fails to make me tear up
Can't call her best mom. She's caring and tries, but she's certainly a flawed mom.

Nobody is perfect, and I'm nobody ^^
You called it SO early.
I was shocked when you said "basilisk" in ep 4, as one of your first thoughts about her.
Like "DAMN SHE'S GOOD, HOPE PEOPLE PLAY IT COOL AND SUPPLY MANY FAKE LEADS" lmao
Yeah honestly I was shocked too and it was so hard not to comment on that theory lest I gave anything away haha. I decided not to point out that she came to that conclusion at all just in case.
Most people, reactors especially by nature of watching a bunch of shows at once, tend to forget about S1's basilisk. I remembered unlike most but still didn't come to the conclusion that Vee was one of them but it immediately made sense the second they revealed it since we'd seen one before. Well played, Dana. Well played.
I think it was at the end of 2x04 that she guessed basilisk, since that’s when we first saw “Creepy Luz.” Season 1 just had the letters at the end of episode 16.
@@JNDReacts You're right! Edited my comment now.
I'm I wrong or did literally nobody else in the Fandom think about it being a baiskelisk??? Like everyone forgot about the baskelisk episode
@@acecelia3262 Most people did in fact forget about the Basilisk from Season 1, temporarily; it wasn't the type of detail that was completely forgotten at least, they immediately remembered "OH YEAH we saw one of those in Season 1! OMG THATS SO CLEVER!" is the kind of reaction most reactors have upon seeing the reveal.
In some ways it's kind of a good thing because it makes their reactions better and a lot more enjoyable when they're very much shocked by it, hah.
"I will never understand anime." says the woman whose daughters are both isekai protagonists.
I laughed too hard at this.
Before this episode: Creepy evil doppelganger
After this episode: PRECIOUS CINNAMON ROLL
You went from hating Amity's guts to adoring her and now you went from freaking out over Vee to adoring her haha
This show does that so well, making us flip our view on a character super fast while somehow NOT feeling rushed or unnatural. It's such good writing
I would say the same about hunter but Mosco fell in love with him immediately.
@@sortascouseace he had her with the “byeeee” lol
This show and their "Oooo scary antagonist" to "Precious child that must be protected at all times" tropes gets us every time.
Lilith went from main antagonist to cool aunt
Amity went from mean girl to awesome girlfriend
Hunter went from a weird salty bird face boy to Hunter needs a hug
And Vee went from 'Why is there a second freaking Luz' to 'PROTECT THE CHILD'
They can't resist their villain to hero characters. And it works, considering Amity, Hunter, Vee and even Lilith are all fan favorites.
Does the same with Darius in episode 13 🤣🤣🤣
Vee is one of my favorite characters. Somehow she gets even more precious after she grows into a full-sized basilisk and gets a job as a mascot at the local dinosaur museum.
Vee is objectively one of the best characters. Her whole museum arc was really well done too, glad she got her happy ending.
Bee is amazing ❤ love her
And dates Masha (who takes over the Gravesfield Historcial Society Museum after the original proprietor is arrested for unlawful spying and breaking several privacy & wrong imprisonment laws.
In S3E1 they return to the historical society. The witch Hunter guy isn't there, but there is a smash cut to his hidden room and a skeleton in that cage. I should disapprove but it's funny as hell.
RIP Redfield the Hedgehog.
"Some Element of magic must work"
yes
we've seen it.
in the Season 1 finale luz couldn't use her glyphs on earth but Lilith could use her magic, also earlier this episode we learn that Eda enchanted some croissants while at the cafe
Also Owlbert would likely revert to his inanimate wooden form if magic didn't work at all there.
Witch magic is contained in the bile sac, remember, so Lilith (and the others) bring it with them.
Ah Vee, the character that went from “creepy imposter “ to “precious baby we must protect “ in the span of one episode.
I’m glad Moscow has Hamish the emotional support highland cow for this one. I’ll definitely be bringing some emotional support nuggies to the premier, this episode hits so hard (especially after watching S3E1).

@@WeeLassReacts AS HE SHOULD!
My mom has a very similar emotional support three-toed sloth. Yes, she's 70 and has a stuffed animal.
@@MWSin1 That's the kind of mom we all want.
@@MWSin1 Hence "With age comes wisdom"
It's going to hurt when King meets his family, goes thru all this training just to learn he will only be accepted if he kills Luz. Damn Human Hunters.
human hunters 😂 i see what you did there
.......This aged like spoiled milk :D
That last moment with Camila is even more heartbreaking once we learn that she knew about the Boiling Isles from the beginning. Luz is actually King’s sister trapped in human form by a curse. King’s father hid her from the emperor by going to the human realm and leaving her with Camila. That’s why, in the first episode, Luz knew what griffons looked like before she ever went through the portal. It was her memories coming back. And Camila sent her to that summer camp hoping to stop her from remembering that she was a demon.
That hurt. Especially how King's Father gave up his life to protect Luz. Just to have his sacrifice undone by Belos' machinations. And by Eda wanting to bring Belos down.

Speaking of missing the pause for the one newspaper scene, just a word of warning for an episode you're going to be coming up on soon. Be quick on the pause button during S2E16 (Hollow Mind)... If you're the sort of person who likes piecing things together (and I think you are!) and want to look out for the clues, there's a completely separate story going on in the background throughout the entire episode! There is a lot going on in the foreground too, though, so you may want to watch that episode a second time just to focus in on the other stuff being revealed.
Seconded! This is really good advice
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS
Yeah my mods and I have been chatting about that episode, I've decided to just make it an extended episode recording and I'll see if I wanna pause as I go for the background stuff or do all that at the end or something
Favorite parallels;
TOH;
Eda: Are you sure this isn't going to blow our faces off?
Luz: Nope.
Arcane;
Jace: Are you sure this experiment is safe?
Victor: Of course not.

BAHAHAHAHHAAHA Good to know I'm getting some of them right coz I know I defo get a LOT of stuff wrong haha I'm glad you're enjoying them my friend
This was such a heart-wrenching episode! And it becomes even more so once you find out what happened with Luz’s dad. He abandoned the family, and now from Camila’s POV Luz is doing something very similar. 😢 Camila needs a big hug for what she’s going through, and it’s not like she can tell anyone without sounding crazy.

Really? What do they say? Is there a video that deciphers it?
Found it, thanks for pointing it out
I think from this episode on, you're going to need Hamish everytime!
12:48 masha is voiced by grey delisle. Azula's voice actress.
This one is quite the doozy! Love the line "I will NEVER understand Anime." XD She is a total closeted nerd herself though. Anyone who let a child like Luz develop the way she did HAS to be just as creative and quirky on the inside, right?
I adore that Camilla fully takes Vee in in the end, she's the kind of parent every child should have.💕
This episode: Breaking everyone's expectations and hearts since 2021!
One thing Inlove about Camila is that as soon as Luz reassures her about Vee, she refers to her as a "strong girl" and an "innocent child," not as a monster or demon.
The way I always saw it Luz couldn't grow as easily in the human world because of past trauma, Same goes for Vee. Luz had no friends in the human world, Vee had no friends in the demon realm. Yet the moment they switched... well the results speak for themselves.
Exactly 💯
And once again Mosco was right.
I can't overstate how impressed I am with her ability to get the hints and make correct predictions, from Eda making peace with the Owl Beast and learning to control her beast form to guessing that the Luz imposter is a basilisk (and a heap of other stuff I won't comment on yet)
Understand Mosco, that we had almost two months from the confirmation that there was an imposter 'til this episode came out, and I can tell you: I didn't see a single person make the connection with the basilisk from Season 1. It really should be fairly obvious, as the basilisk is the only creature we've seen being able to perfectly immitate a humanoid without using illusions that require constant concentration. Somehow no one saw that possibility - instead focussing on the "Grimwalker" hint from the book in s2e9 (as we all know, the Grimwalker is just a red herring which will never have any relevance for the story - Dana just put it there to troll us)
I know you're doing a bit Mosco, calling yourself a moron and so on, but don't you ever for a second start believing it yourself. You are incredibly smart and observant, and don't you ever forget that.
😭😭😭🥺👉👈
Probably one of the nicest comments I've ever received! Thank you!
I think I connected the dots on that one so quickly because Scotland is FULL of mythological creatures who can change shape. Everything from the Selkie to the Changeling and back again, and our national animal is a unicorn. We are so deep in our beast lore that I likely paid subconscious attention when the basilisk was on screen.
But I also had 3 guesses let's not forget that 🤣🤣
It's always interesting to see people new to a series get things right right away.
The first part of that discussion involving the basilisk from season 1 & calling out Mosco's correct assessment of Vee (V is Roman Numeral for 5) being the same species is right on target. However...
SPOILER
Calling the Grim Walker topic merely a red herring when Hunter literally IS one (Hunter is a Grim Walker clone of Belos' murdered brother Caleb, whom Belos killed when he was still Phillip & not yet The Emperor of The Boiling Isles) is so far off the mark, it questions the very validity of the remainder of the dicussion.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh obviously.
When I wrote that, Mosco was still reaching to TOH, so I was deliberately trying to throw her off with the grimwalker comment.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh She says in most every episode to include fan theories and fake spoilers so that the real spoilers get mixed in and she can't figure out which is which. They were just playing into that.
Watership Down is my favorite book too! I read it in middle school thinking it was a kids' book, because my copy of Redwall had 'written in the tradition of Watership Down' on the cover. But I loved it! I have a rabbit named Clover.
ADORABLE 💝💝 I've read the book so many times hahaha I even have the audio book on Audible and it's gotten me through some tough nights
Fun fact- Eda’s name in the human realm is Marilyn
Grunkle Stan ex-wife was also called Marilyn.
They're the same person. Eda = Marilyn = Grunkle Stan's ex. Wonder what Raine Whispers thinks about that once Eda hopefully told them about her exploits in the human world.
So interesting fact about Connecticut that I only learned thanks to some fans on Reddit doing some research after this episode: Connecticut is the location of the first large scale witch hunt in the colonies, predating Salem by about 60 years. It took place in the area around Hartford, a city that was founded in 1635, the same year as the town Luz was from! So all the witch hunting artifacts at the museum were a nice touch by The Owl House crew!
"Who the fuck is she?!"
The most precious little pie ever
I’m so happy to see the return of the Luz expression ^^
I love Vee’s voice actor. She voiced Amethyst in Steven Universe and that was such a great series ^^
Also I agree with the editor’s note, I’m surprised you didn’t pause on the one side of that newspaper XD
I love how they gave Luz all the great faces this season. Like the one she made after he said witches and demons are from Mars. Speaking of, you had a great moment to use the new one when he said that he will get his account verified XD
I start combining all of Luzs' facial moments after episode 12 when we get the finger pointing with Lilith too hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 they're too fun
What I expect: A really emotional reaction to one of the most heart-breaking episodes of the show
What I got: The above... plus 6:10 - 6:48 🤣
Never change Mosco!!
I debated taking it out or leaving it in, but decided if I could make even just 1 person laugh or smile then it would be worth it 🤣🤣
There is an important Luz character moment that says a lot about her and helps under stand her better that not enough people talk about.
When she see the terrifying talking rats Luz is like Cool and excited.
But when comes to talk to other human teens get scared and starts to panic.
Camila is wonderful, and this is the first episode that really shows how good she is. It’s the first look we get at Luz’s relationship with her mum, and suggestions of what Luz’s life was actually like in the human realm. There’s more going on there than we see in this episode, and it’s heartbreaking…. Beautiful episode.
That Watership Down reference gave me LIFE, thank you, for that short phrase.
YESSSS YER WELCOME
I like how you pointed out that of course when you're situation is as bad as Vee's is pretty much anything else like Luz's home life is going to be a massive improvement. Also nice job picking up on Jacob being the witch abscessed guy mentioned earlier.
Imagine how we felt after watching that episode. That was the mid-season hiatus point, meaning Owl House had no new episodes for like, 4 months after that one aired.

2:21 Here we are, once again, witnessing one of Nature's biggest wonders: The Mosco charade. Often displayed when the lonely neuron of the *redus hedus* faces something beyond their shockingly short knowledge, as an effort to reach to another creature capable of summarize the current situation in a matter that a paramecium's intelligence level mind can digest. Truly, a fantastic showcase of Nature's beauty.
😂😂😂😂
My absolute favourite episode of the whole show, no exceptions. I remember replaying the "strong girl under my roof" moment over and over and over on my first watch. Vee is my absolute favourite.
Whenever I watch this episode, I can only hear Sonic whenever Jacob (witch obsessed guy) speaks.
YES YOU'RE CRYING, AND SO AM I😭😭😭
Now be grateful you didn't have to wait 6 months hiatus after THIS
This was a very touching episode. It answers a question or two only to leave you with other questions. You know what's better than having a bed and someone who cares about you? Having a place to stay with a bed and two people who care for you. I can relate to Luz's mom and Eda too I have felt this way for my own kids. It's kind of like Luz is caught between her serigat mom(Eda) and her actual mom. How can she bring these two worlds together or is she gonna have to choose? Will Mosco be able to get over her existential crisis? Will Hamish ever understand Mosco's crazy behavior? Tune in to the next episode of the Owl House reaction for the answer to these and other pressing questions. BYYYYEEEE.🤟
Wow, I can't believe Vee turns evil later on after being caught by one of the castle guards in the Demon Realm, and gets brainwashed into fighting Luz and her friends at the end of this season. Man what a fight that was and what a twist, did not expect that at all.
And it hurts that she manages to drain Luz and friends of their magic.
(At 11:55) Wait, Marilyn? As in "Stan's ex-wife he's been talking about from _Gravity Falls_ who robbed him" Marilyn?
Same person. Wonder what would happen if Grunkle Stan & Raine Whispers were to meet?
3:00 "My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today..."
That line, "is this the only way I can touch you?"
It's like a gunshot to the heart every time
At this point the fandom was emotionally drained and destroyed; we were riding the highs of so many amazing back to back episodes and then THIS episode's ending hit us really hard, only for Disney to cut us off from the rest of the season for seven whole months! Seven!! The wait was unbearable after that. But man this show had been an emotional rollercoaster in all the right ways up to this point. The first 10 episodes of S2 solidified this show as one of my favorites, easily in my top 20; the final eleven episodes of S2 are what earn it a spot on my top 5.
In other words, it only gets much better from here. :)
Wasn't this also when we learned Owl House got canceled and we were getting only 3 episodes?
@@alexkoder1982 yes I do believe so, which added to the pain
This episode revealed that Eda was the Marilyn maried with Gruncle Stan
I always laugh at the idea that she stole his car because there was no way she could get it through the portal. Always wondered if he got it back and it was the one in Gravity Falls or she just abandoned it after it ran out of gas somewhere.
Congratulations Mosco, you just made it through the HAPPY half of season two!
"Is this the only way I can touch you?"
That line hurt so many people. I swear every reactor breaks a little or flinches at that line.
I think it gets lost in some people's minds by the end of the scene, but jeez that line hits hard.

There is actually an interesting pattern of Luz making promises to people (people that Luz respects or loves) and then those people seeing that the promise and Luz adherence to it will be bad for her and then letting her out of it.
She made that binding agreement with Amity that Amity let her out of later after Luz showed her the light glyph and then Camila made Luz promise in this episode and then sees how that will affect her and works to keep her from keeping it.
Codes so far!
First code: SEEK THE KEY...
Second code: SEETHING SEAS AND PUPPET STRINGS, HE NO LONGER DREAMS OF...
This episode had so many background details that fueled an endless number of theories throughout the 7 month long hiatus! For example, if you watch this episode with English subtitles on Disney+ there’s a mysterious voice that whispers “Noceda” when Luz is in the in-between realm! There are other whispers too, but they don’t appear in the subtitles.
I even managed to correctly predict something right after this episode that I never saw anyone else guess, and I’m still proud of myself for it!
Here’s a video where someone isolated the whispers: ruclips.net/video/OnLA5l3mGdk/видео.html
Watership Down is a really good one. Nice reference
Nooo! This will probably be the first premiere of yours I will miss, since I have friends visiting that day. But I wish all those who have the time a lot of fun. Enjoy your nuggies!
I’ve seen tons of people react to this show, and you’re the only one who correctly guessed that the fake Luz was a basilisk. In fact, I never saw anyone speculate that in the lead up to episode 10. I didn’t even think of it myself.
To be fair I did have 3 guesses hahahaha 🤣 somehow I feel like I cheated by writing 3 answers down for a quiz hahaha

@@WeeLassReacts It was my pleasure Always... did I forget to wish Christmas to someone... Oh shit! To that other one of my favorites. That hairy Scotsman whose face takes up at least 40% of the screen real estate at times, making me want to kiss him and make my wife jealous Gotta go right away...
can we just accept the fact that vee is so adorable, i love her, i can see why she wanted to escape, all through the town and honestly i never caught on to it until recently, the empererors sygil is everywhere in the town, maybe thats the inspiration for belos coven, the news paper clipping that vee had, the two brothers, i by far how the mystery begins, probably learn more about them eventually, and Luz had to face her worst fear, confronting her mom, she was afraid of doing it in enchanting grom fight.
Luz being pressured to promise to stay on Earth when she returns when that might not be what she wants or she's not sure is such a mood.
I immediately got that reference. Watership Down book and film are both goated. I could talk for hours!😅
When I watched this episode with my mom near the end she started getting emotional because of camila and saying how she understands what camila is feeling
Can't wait for the episode in which Vee (disguised as Luz) and Amity meet and Amity kisses her instead of the real Luz
As funny as that was I don't think the dark and bloody ship wars that ensued were worth it.
Watership down messed me up as a kid lol, my parents grabbed the movie for a road trip when I was maybe 8 or 9 because "Cute bunny movie! What could possibly go wrong?"
Philip went to the demon realm with his brother George. George was cursed by a spell and is actually King's father.
Don't worry, Amphibia will not make you cry! It is a jaunty thing to watch with a cross over episode with Owl House that the voice actors made! Some say it is the "sister" show to this one!
Nice to meet another Watership Down fan!
Love your reaction videos. Can’t wait to see more
Vee is played by Michaela Dietz, currently the voice of Darryl on _The Ghost and Molly McGee,_ but probably best known as Amethyst from _Steven Universe…_ coincidentally another shapeshifter with self-esteem issues.
I can’t wait for your reaction when they reveal that Luz, Vee and Hunter are all siblings taken from the Eternal Realm and hidden in the Boiling Isles to protect them-it just sucked that Belos showed up and Luz had to be separated from her brother and sister and hidden in the human realm alone. If only the Guard had managed to save Vee and Hunter too, maybe they wouldn’t have gone through so much struggle….
This episode hurt so much, especially as someone with familial issues- and a TON of mommy issues.
I instantly understood the 'watership down' reference and I'm so glad you made it. Bigwig was one of my favourite characters other than bluebell
YESSS LEGEND! Bigwig was my fav too!!
"Who knew I had such a strong girl under my roof?" and every single queer person watching just 😭
Unlike most isekai protagonists, Luz wants to actually go home.
Camila is such a great mom
Listen closely during the Alternate Dimension scenes. The “cubic things” faintly whisper to Luz, although it’s veeery hard to notice or understand. For example at 7:28 "Can anyone hear me?" "Y e s".
2:56 I understood your Watership Down reference! All the world will be your enemy, Prince With a Thousand Enemies!
Really excited for this one. This show is just so good, and I am so sad it is soon(ish) over :c
Hope Hamish is not squeezes to death TOO much
Now wev'e seen both Vee the good basilisk and that evil inspector one, I can't wait to see your reaction to them fighting it out in episode 17!
The Watership Down reference was much appreciated, indeed.
14:40 remember, remember the fifth of November.
Man, when you get to the fact that the witch that led the brothers to the Demon Realm was the origin of the stories that would eventually become the Good Witch Azura books, or even later when it's revealed that both stories were based on Luz, sent back through time due to shenanigans involving titans blood... this episode hits different on the rewatch.
The code word for this episode is 'Of', leaving the message as 'Seething Seas and Puppet Strings, He No Longer Dreams Of-" And you've finished the third word of the episode titles- KEY, leaving the message of the first half of the season at 'SEEK THE KEY'.
Also, a neat fact- the portal showed Vee when Luz counted to five because her name is/was Number Five. And there really is an INSANE amount of lore hidden in this episode, it's ridiculous! The statue, the page in the book, the symbol of Gravesfield itself... the list goes on and on.
Well, V IS Roman Numeral for 5, hence Vee, so...
I WAS LAUGHING SO FUCKING HARD THE FIRST 5 MINUTES THAT WAS INCREDIBLE OMFG
