Yeah, this is way too much trouble. The existing plastic tube in the throttlebody assembly can be left in place. The entire throttle body plenum does not need to be removed. I just did it. Took about five minutes. Got the part from e-bay for $35.
You all should check out rock auto... they often times have the OE parts for half the price of Ford. they also have a good selection most times for aftermarket options as well.
I went to the junk yard and was able to find the rubber hose on a ranger. The one I had on my truck had the same problem. I just removed the old one and slid out the tube to the intake a little and zipped tied the one from the junk yard on without having to remove all that. To get that new part from the dealer cost a lot. Had done this five years ago and it's still going strong. I was able to get two from the junk yard just in case. Hope this helps someone out.
i got a elbow from NAPA ( original ford part ) but does not have the inner conection for the plastic tube what is that tube for ? thanks for sharing the part number

@@lrg5705 Got the whole assembly for $14.00 Ebay, still didn't solve the issue. Code read Cylinder 4 misfire it has 200+ k on the 3.0 it could be a bad coil pack. Just ordered a New Motorcraft.
Having the same thing done to my Ranger tomorrow. Can only get the part from Ford. Guess that's why they make them fail. Lookin at $350 job. Yes, I can do it, but I don't feel like working on my own stuff anymore.. too old.
The most ridiculous design I've ever seen for a PCV. Ford, Better Ideas.. Wait till you need to replace the thermostat in a 2003 4.0L ranger.. Three bolts, $6.00 part $150.00 + in labor. Why? Because you need to pull the whole fuel injection system to get the frigging three thermostat cover bolts out under it.

I paid $100 for the part at a Ford dealership. It comes with the tube, hose and pcv valve. It is considered a whole component.
Great video thank you for getting right to the point of it and not over explaining everything like most videos.
Hey, thanks for the videos. Made the job a whole lot easier!

Thank you so much ! A buddy of mine will be replacing mine next week and your instructions appear to be easy to follow.

this was just what I needed! I had no idea what this was called thank you!
Thank you for the explanation. I have to do the same on my truck.
You don’t have to remove plenum!!!!!!!!
You can bend the tube and install it in place!!!!!!!!
hello is the plenum the long plastic tube
how do you bend a 6 inch long hard plastic tube so it goes in through a 2 inch gap?
let it get warm by setting it on the hot engine or somewhere it can warm up and get flexible a bit. 🤷@EmilioIacobelli

Is that long tube plastic or metal and am I correct to say it's zip tied into the rubber elbow as a separate piece?

Amazon carries the parts but they are not very cheap considering they are on amazon. $170 is what I was looking at last year.

2002 Mazda B3000 dual sport similar issue with the hose -.-
I just watched another video where the guy slid it in from the back on an angle. 🤷
