Thanks mate! As it turns out, two of them won't be needed anyway (haha, I win!). When using the Pro undertray, two of the washers at the front aren't used. Bonus! 😁👍
I think your right about the servo upfront, with lipo’s it would be rear heavy. But at the end of the day, you started this build before kyosho dropped the rere. And its allways great to build something to your own spec 👍
Yeah I figure the LiPos weigh much less, so no real point moving it and having the servo at the back. Just leave the servo where it is and call it done 😁. That's right mate! Well as long as I get it finished before the rere actually comes! 🤞😂. Cheers mate!
G'day mate!! That's a sexy looking buggy!👌, you're gonna need that glass cabinet sooner than later!. It's such a quality looking bit of RC mate, plenty of alloy👍. Ingrid noticed the alloy chain drive, she's impressed mate. Looking forward to seeing the body painted. Very nice touch with the red on the tyre writing, that's one of the 1st bits of detail I noticed, that's exactly how it's supposed to be🍻. Thanks for sharing your video Mick👍🦘🇦🇺
Hey mate! Thanks mate. Oh yeah I need one! It seems the tubs in the shed aren't keeping the dust out, going by the look of the Outrage. So I think they'll have to go into plastic bags too, until I get nice (dust free) cabinets. The Optima kit comes with the chain or belt option, so I went for the chain as that's what the original Pro had in it. It's always pretty cool to see a chain on them! I've got the body sitting on it now. Just need to clean up the trimming some more then it'll be time for the paint job. Not looking forward to that! 😬. Naturally, if it turns out ok it'll be worth the effort and I'll be able to say it was great fun. 🤣 No probs mate. Cheers! 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed Might have to employ a cleaner to keep the dust away 🤔. That's a really unusual looking chain too, typical old school in my mind. The body will turn out fine, we'll put money on it mate 👍
@@outbackrcaustralia4895 Haha yeah! The chain was kind of a staple for Kyosho 4wd buggies back in the day. They ran them in almost all their 4wd buggies, both electric and nitro up until the Optima Mid, if I remember right. I hope so mate! 😬🤞
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it. I've decided to split the body video, since the body trimming was so long. That video is up now. So now I'll get onto the paint for the next video. 🙂👍
Haha not really since I'm broke! 😂 The Lazer looks pretty cool but I'm not sure if I'll get it. I have a FAV but getting one to do a custom build would be cool. 🙂👍
Still got my original Optima Pro from when they first came out in the 80''s with those lovely red shocks. Amazingly it still worked when I tried it not long back but it needs an esc and receiver upgrade. Back in the day it just got a plain red paint job but Id love to redo it with a relica body shell now I have more paint skills. Looking forward to the next installment.
Oh, lucky! Ya just gotta love the red shocks 😍. It's great that it's still running. It'll be like brand new after the electrics upgrade and new body/paint job! Cheers mate! 🙂👍
Very nice chassis Mick...looking forward to the end result my friend. One of my future builds is gonna be a Salute...it never gets the attention it deserves...but i adore it
Thanks mate! With some blind luck, I won't ruin the paint job. 😂 Nice one. You're right, nobody ever mentions the Salute. They were pretty cool though, and a must have in a Kyosho 4wd collection. 🙂👍
Thanks mate. Although I start a new job in a couple of days so that might throw a spanner in the works again🤦♂️. Oh yeah, the Optima buggies are awesome. Haha, yeah Legendary! 🙂👍
It is looking good and the tire letting looks great. The wheels and tires really do make it better looking! I am sure it is going to look great all done up, looking forward to it!
Thanks Addam! Oh yeah, the wheels and tyres really make the chassis. That said, I do like the plain white wheels on the original Pro but there was none available when I started collecting parts for the build. I hope it turns out good but as you know, things can go sideways real quick! 😬 Cheers mate! 🙂👍
Thanks mate. Why not grab the Turbo kit and get a Pro body set?! The body set probably won't be available for a little bit though, but you'll be able to build the Turbo at your own leisure while waiting for the body set. You could always sell the Turbo body set to get back some $$, just an idea. Cheers mate! 🙂👍
Haha, ya know, I'm not sure I've slept for three days 😂. Thanks Terence! Will be taking my time for sure. I was fearing the painting but now I'm more worried about the trimming 😬. Cheers mate! 🙂👍
Yeah they seem far too brittle. As it happens, I don't need two of them when using the Pro undertray. So that worked out well... as long as no more crack! 😬👍
Great job Mick 👌 shame about those washers cracking 🤔🤦🥶

I like collecting novak esc, brushed performance motors and servos. Digital and brushless. More old skool though. I like your channel mate. Nice 👍
Another great episode dude, good tips as usual looking forward to the body episode, loving your work 🤘

I bet you can't wait for the new one. I hope you get the laser I wish I could get both of them. Caswell's the fast attack vehicle.

Great video Mick, love the work you did to this buggy, amazing job mate.
Thanks Fil! 👍
Im a fan of the savox 1250-53 too 👍 cant afford the brushless ones yet!
I like the black versions 👍😊
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
Great to see you back on the RC horse Mick! Great vid mate l love all the Optima's! Fantastic series...should say Legendary!

My tbg falcon body had no cut lines. Luckily I had an original that I could reference
It is a pain having no lines. I'm lucky enough to have an Optima body (from the kit), so will use that as a reference. 🙂👍
Nice looking chassis. Looking forward to seeing it with painted body
Thanks mate! Hopefully the paint all goes to plan. 😬👍
I think it looks epic Mick, great job 👍
Thanks Darren! With some luck the paint will look ok too! 😬👍
Awesome build!!!!! Great shirt!!!
Thanks John! 🙂🤘
Looking forward to seeing the finished product
Thanks mate. Hopefully all goes well! 🙂👍
Hell yea brother
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Looks good, nice work. I'm torn between the Pro re-release or the Turbo with a Pro body (I want the gold bling but prefer the Pro body shape)

Nice car. Nice T-shirt too. I was wondering if you are going to try and get the Team Associated 40th anniversary RC10?
Thanks Alfred. I'm gonna TRY to get it but things are pretty tight right now. As always, I'll probably get it well after everyone else. 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed Yes, things are pretty tight for me right now too. So, I completely understand. Keep the videos coming.
Wow! this video arrived sooner than I expected, the chassis is looking great 👍 , take your time on the bodyshell, it’s gonna be epic for sure!
Haha, ya know, I'm not sure I've slept for three days 😂. Thanks Terence! Will be taking my time for sure. I was fearing the painting but now I'm more worried about the trimming 😬. Cheers mate! 🙂👍
Those washers cracks easily, both my Turbo and Javelin build had cracked washers, think the aluminum alloy used were just too weak/brittle.
Yeah they seem far too brittle. As it happens, I don't need two of them when using the Pro undertray. So that worked out well... as long as no more crack! 😬👍
Is the body/undertray going to fit without the Optima Pro radio plate moving the battery forward and the servo back?
@@ducsauce Yeah, no probs at all. The body is pretty straight along the sides so the battery won't hit it or anything. 👍
