You said it, it's the next step in the evolution of disk detainer picks. It's amazing how a simple addition can make something so much more functional, well done Tallan!
I love the design concept, but I would love to see a version in a machine metal, which I know would cost more, but I feel would last a lot longer. For me, 3D printed is great for design development to prove concept and functionality. However, I'm not sure how long it might last as a tool being 3D plastic. I would probably still buy a set, even how it is now.
Hey lock noob just a small piece of advice, you should continue to add your new videos to your playlists! I was coming to your channel to look at your reviews, looks like the playlist stops about a year ago and was most active 5-7 yrs ago. Add these new ones in there!
Couple of things: Maybe link to Tallan's channel in the description. He even made a video about his own pick where he linked the Thingiverse files to print it yourself and a material list. It's not English, but I think linking it would be nice. As for the pick: •) I would want to see a big, round tensioning handle instead of the 3-pronged one or 2-pronged one. Not sure whether that's easy to hold if you can't clamp the lock, but if you can, it will make keeping the pick centered probably easier(?) I just personally want to see it. ^^ •) Do the screw-in distance pieces turn in and out when you turn the tensioning handle/tension the lock with it? Because that would be something I would want to be changed then - the distancing piece shouldn't turn in and out during normal operation.
Hey there! I will try to make a big round handle and test it, but I´m not sure if make the tool bigger will help us to keep it centered. Thanks for the suggestion. Don´t know if it´s about the plastic that makes more difficult to turn piece vs piece, but in my experience the screw´-in pieces don´t turn when you turn the tool to release tension or whatever reason. If the wear make it happens the solution will be to impress new screws or even handles, but it not happens to me yet and I used them a lot. Thanks a lot for comment about the tool.
i'd love to see tallan team up with sparrows for production and distribution. getting these out at a price similar to the existing sparrows front-tensioning pick would be outstanding. for rear-tensioning picks, there continues to be an unfilled gap between the ultra cheap ebay/ali/tao picks and the ridiculously expensive hand-made offerings.
Hi there, for now you can download the files for free to 3D print the handles and make the tools your self. And yeah, it would be awesome if any manufacturer sell a rear tensioning tool at reasonable price. This is what can I do for the lockpicking community for now, glad you like it ;o)
Hey, hopefully you see this. I know how much you love all brass padlocks & I happen to have a beautiful all brass Lockwood padlock for sale atm. Let me know if you’re interested!

None of the plastic is really a wear part but it feels nice having expensive machined parts
@@lililililililili8667having a cheaper plastic option as well would make it more accesible if was mass produced and sold.
Someone needs to sell kits with all the metal bits
Could not find the link to the channel mentioned, and it would be helpful to have it in the description if possible. Nice video!
Hey there! here is the link to my channel: ruclips.net/user/tallanpick

Who is better...this one or the Sparrow disc detainer pick tool?
This one. The sparrows pick doesn't have a rear tensioning option.
Great review. Where can I buy one?
They look great and i need those

Oh cool, thanks for the reply! :D
It's cool etc, but is it as good as the latest DD pick from RWB?
It takes a lot practise to be able to pick a detainer lock. China brands need to be modified 1st before you start picking .
Awesome tool.

Where cam I buy this tool it looks very lightweight which is helpful after an hour or two practicing...
Maybe Tallan pick has released the files. Have a look on his site

Very nice. Could you do a vid on it doing the mammoth security padlock that you did a while ago?
Ash sent me one of those time ago, I will try to make a vid about it in my channel too ;o)
@@TallanPick thanks. Where can I buy this tool?
@@Locksport9872 it´s a DIY tool, it´s not sold anywhere. Sorry.
A CHALLENGER APPEARS! Sorry, I literally just watched LPL and BB build theirs, but that was what, 5 years ago now?
Cool
For sure
Coolest
Thank you! ;o)
