Ive been scouring the internet looking everywhere trying to get my similar electrical issue figured out on my 2015 6.2L Silverado I cant thank you enough it was the same exact ground on the passenger side undercarriage. Thank you again
You sir have earned a subscriber! My dash on my 14 silverado has been flickering like crazy and after cleaning that ground (which I wouldn’t have known where the hell it was it if it wasn’t for you) seems to have fixed my problem. Thank you and keep up the great content man 🙌🏼
Thanks for the tip about tracing ground wires. In the process, I found a whole bundle of wires that an animal had really gone to town on, and the exposed wires were making contact. Spliced in some extra wire with some wire nuts, and good to go!
THANK YOU ,man I have had this problem and it has driven me almost insane. I even took it back to the dealership over this. Thanks to you I will be checking my grounds.Thank again my brother.
Had this same issue on my 2014 Sierra. Along with the flickering headlights, my nav screen and trip screen would flicker and my power steering would go out as well as my parking sensors. Really strange, however, my local dealership had a service bulletin stating that certain trucks in that year range had defective positive battery cables and replacing that should fix those issues. They did that on my truck and haven’t had a single issue for over 3 months now. Just an FYI in case your lights aren’t fixed from cleaning the grounds
This is for everyone else that this tip didnt work for. In 2016 I inherited a 2006 Chevy Uplander (only produced for a couple yrs.) that had the flickering headlight & dash light problem, primarily only noticed at night. Battery & other parts tested fine, couldnt figure it out. Drove for 5 yrs. like that, finally took it to the dealer & guy behind the desk said the only thing it could be was a bad battery but since I had drivien it for 5 yrs. without any starting issue, I found that hard to believe. In 2021 I looked at the battery date stamp & saw early 2013 so I decided to have it tested again at NTB & local auto mechanic, said it was going bad. Only indication is occasionally I would have to give it 2 tries to start. Given the age, I replaced it and the flickering lights problem was gone. Only been a few months but so far so good. It was an Interstate battery by the way. What I dont understand is, if it was bad 5 yrs ago, how could it start & run in all other ways so good for so long? Anyway, hope my story can help someone else because it was so aggravating & at times dangerous when when other drivers might have thought you were flashing them to get out of the way or semi-trucks thinking you were flashing them to let them in.
Awesome man, bought a Silverado at auction, probably came from the rust belt or bottom of lake. Those grounds are critical came to find out, even caked on mud like you mentioned does a number on your electrical . Thanks for the tips
Thank you for the info ! I have a 2014 z71 and it just started to do this. I will be doing this before taking it to terry Cullen Chevrolet. Thanks again !
@@bradglo1469 they claim they didn’t understood why it was doing it. They even told me if it was something I could just go on about my day. I ended up trading the truck in.
Same issue here.. I cleaned the ground on the passenger side and it didn’t work. I had the alternator and battery tested, both are good. Next, I took of the dash to check the two grounds behind the speakers and both looked fine. Other than that I’m stumped!!!! I know there’s other ground throughout the truck but I can’t locate them. I was looking for a book or video that would show the locations of the “grounds” but I haven’t found anything! I Losing my mind now!😤.. it’s pissing me off sooo bad I’m starting to think I should’ve bought a FORD! 🤣
I’m gonna give it a shot! My 2015 GMC SLT headlight have a slight flicker. It’s not bad but it’s pissing me off!😂.. I also noticed, if I’m parked, and rev the engine up, my headlights get a little brighter. I hope it’s just a ground! Thanks brotha!

My low beams 2015 duramax are super dim. New batteries recently and new alternator (both needed replaced). But never affected the headlights. With old batteries they would flicker, along with tail lights.
I am having the same issue. Volts drop below line. I have gotten a check charging system. Truck has new battery. Cleaned grounds and checked wires. I disconnected ground clamp and there was no change
I've got low voltage on 1 low beam, other is fine. I'm thinking corrosion in that circuit. Causing flickering. Headlights have the same power supply via the relay and the other light has full voltage, probably bad wire in affected side
Sir I have Gmc Yukon 2004 6.0 I have same problem and change battery and alternator but still same can I do same and when I remove plug from ground sensor with battery It’s stop flicking when I put back again start help me
I’m having the pulsing problem on our 2016 chevy traverse. Except it’s not when I apply the brakes but just going down the road on cruise. And also not applying cruise. It’s when on dim or bright.
Hi I have the same problem with the headlights pulsating only when the engine is running on my 2014 Chevy Silverado ltz ,I'll try your Method to see if It whether or not
My lights don’t come on till I use the down part on the windshield wipers, and the wipers don’t work, if I hold it down they stay on but when I release it they go off, taillights headlights and all
when i checked my ground on the frame, it litteraly had the undercoating under it....wasnt even touching bare metal. the factory undercoated the frame then attached the ground
I have 2013 Chrysler town and country my head light blinking and dashboard I change new battery I change and you alternators what happened you can help me
I have a 2014 GMC Sierra Denali with 6.2, I have all my lights flickering, service stabilitrack, service trailer brake, parking sensors turning off along with warning of limited assist, power steering intermittently going out and jumpy voltage on gauge, this all happens a few times a day, went to parts store and they said alternator and battery checked out fine but starter failed even though it starts fine! WTF
I replaced both abs sensors on my 2017 Sierra and those messages went away and things are back to working order Steering Assist working now but the message is still showing tho
My 2008 Silverado 1500 had a flicker problem most evident at night. That's why it was near impossible to get the dealer to find the issue if it only did it at night. Just b4 coming to a stop, I notice a down flicker in my headlights. I thought it was the alternator switching between regular and economy mode? IDK!
My 08 is doing the same but it'll either switch from one headlight working or both working but one being really dim, I also noticed a lot of flickering when using my brakes, might be a relay going out or wiring issue due to the age but I'm not too sure
Great video, thank you for sharing, I have a 2014 gmc sierra an I didn't have any problems but I put an alpharex nova headlights and everything is working fine, but for the first 15 or 20 minutes it starts to be flickering and after that the light is steady, I will really appreciate it if somebody can tell me what is the problem.
My 1 month old 2500 duramax batteries died and after I jumped it and charged them with a three hour drive, the only remaining issue is the flickering lights. The dealer said they would need a few days to check it out. I’m a fisherman and I paid 85k for this thing . I don’t have 3 days
Nope! Cleaned all the grounds had tge battery and alt checked. Even pulled off the alt and cleand all the mounting points. Worked for one day. Now pulsating again.
thank you, i wouldnt not recommend to have autozone test your alternator, they will tell you it's bad even though is not true, (happened to us more than once)
My 2014 high country started doing this. Last week, I floorded it and everything inside flickered once, including the display, etc. This week while my fat ass was in a drive through, if I would turn the steering wheel, the front lights would almost completely turn off and the power steering would lock up intermittent and steering was impossible.
